Unilever, Maxis, Shell, PNB, Khazanah and even SOCSO are the high paying organisations that I know about.
That means this country is literally hopeless, salary growth is way much more slower than other peers which are developing countries, your spending power is so weak when you are in advance economies.
Problem with Malaysian graduates is that I think most of us are somehow in the kampung mentality which thinks that "oh its okay I will just get a job in Malaysia and work until I die" without realising how competitive graduates in other countries in the world are.  I'm not even referring to Singapore but try look at Germany, China, US MBA students whom trying very very very hard to get into summer internships at MBBs.  Try also look at graduates from Scandinavian countries and see their interview performance in London, you will be very surprised.

In short Malaysian graduates just aren't globally competitive enough, period.

You can even add Chinamen conglomerates like Sunway and YTL to that list as well. The caveat is usually an Ivy League or equivalent degree.

And your comment on Scandinavian country graduates, you mean they suck compared to their european peers?

Exactly the opposite, graduates from Scandinavian countries and predominantly Germany are way much more competitive and excel to perform in interviews compared to the British graduates.

You can say Germany graduates and Singapore graduates are much alike - like the kiasu type, but it is exactly the kiasu spirit brings them to where they are today.

Damn sad. Not sure where this thing went wrong...
Same MNC, fresh grad SG getting 4k SGD, and MY getting 3.5k MYR.
Doing same job scope and same rank.

Edit: I mean company not even giving the MY grad in 4k MYR. Damn...

Thats actually quite an interesting nugget of information. I would expect a German to be prepared and confident but I worked in a German/Scandinavian company for more than 10 years and they are at times not the most humble, adaptable or open minded of colleagues, bad traits that would screw up any interview. Scandinavians are much better in this regard. But i'm already in my 40s and this is anecdotal information, times could have changed I guess

The fact that the strawberry generation TS deleted his original rant post about being low blowed for being a fresh grad just further proves the point that people's perception of you matters more than the sum of value you can "potentially" bring to the table.

Back in 2009 when i first started my first job after graduating from university, i was offered RM2,300. Did i accept the job? Yes.

Was the salary the only primary factor why i accepted this low salary offer given that it is my very first full time job? No.

I did it because i knew everyone else has to start somewhere either from ground up to pick up work experience. Nowadays fresh graduates are so short sighted - they can't wrap their head over the fact that those who are earning their five figure salaries today started from 0.

Can somebody do a background check on this fag who who takes everything at face value that's being posted on the /K forums that everyone earns an average of RM20,000 per month to counter argue with over arching mass generalization statements?

If i was in HR, i'll reject him not because of the lack of gratitude that's he's being offered more than the average starting salary than most sectors but because he's so socially inept that he lacks any form of situation awareness that we are in the middle of a Global recession where people are being retrenched.

Any person with at least some common sense ought to be grateful to have a job or being offered a job during these rough times.

I do know of a fresh grad on a management trainee program being paid close to 8K in a GLC. Key word here isnt race but the fact he has a MIT Sloan degree. Outliers exist. But they are rare.

I must say i suspect this thread was started because someone got angry about one of my thread. Let me just say that it was never my intention to brag(As if i get fulfilment from bragging) or make anyone angry. Just wanted to share my problem and depression because perhaps there are other people out there who is in the problem i am facing too.

If my apologies to those who felt insulted by my post will calm you all down then i will gladly apologise and i will know that this is not the suitable place for me to share my problem nor ask for advice.

PS : I did close the original thread to avoid arguing or escalating the issue. (I am depress so i dont really know why i am even on this forum in the first place)
