If what you said is true, the my guess is that your cousin works in McK, which automatically eliminates local uni grads.

Bain and BCG do take in exceptional local uni grads (competition winners, high achieving in other areas than studies) as business analyst. If they are promoted to Associate within a year, then it means they are good to stay. But no promotion after 1 year, it's a sign for you to resign.

I believe over the past few years Jobstreet, BNM and the MEF has released data on the average starting salary of fresh graduates. 3.9K is nearly 40 to 50% higher than those reported. Its more than a decent pay considering the current economic situation and the general stinginess of Malaysian Employers. Not sure if its a humble brag post

it may seem that this dude is earning a lot but if u look at the salary based on inflation rate. Malaysia is very much underpaying all their freshies.

The problem with malaysia is that they do not have highly skilled labour we are highly dependant on other countries when it comes to skill.

If you join any of the banking management programmes, you can easily get 4.5-5.5k starting pay.

You don't even need to be exceptional, just decent will do. It's easier if ur Bumi too lol

the thing is not many company is like apple can increase their product price price every year or drive revenue to beat the inflation. many companies in malaysia are stagnant in revenue or inconsistent up and down.
many boss not looking to grow their business cause their comfortable doing it small. if the revenue is not growing then for sure the worker pay cant grow. its common sense. in another way of saying. if your boss dont know how to make money or dont want to make more money. u dont even have a chance to add value correct?

anyway the table is based on inflation only. money value shrinking is real and the value my father get is definitely more than what i get

Unilever, Maxis, Shell, PNB, Khazanah and even SOCSO are the high paying organisations that I know about.

For Malaysian economy, it's high.
Don't compare SGD n AUD. They have better economy.
Unless the company is based in SG, earn money in SGD, but pay you MYR2.5k then that's lowball you a lot. Their cleaner in SG office simply earn higher than MYR2.5k

That means this country is literally hopeless, salary growth is way much more slower than other peers which are developing countries, your spending power is so weak when you are in advance economies.

Problem with Malaysian graduates is that I think most of us are somehow in the kampung mentality which thinks that "oh its okay I will just get a job in Malaysia and work until I die" without realising how competitive graduates in other countries in the world are. I'm not even referring to Singapore but try look at Germany, China, US MBA students whom trying very very very hard to get into summer internships at MBBs. Try also look at graduates from Scandinavian countries and see their interview performance in London, you will be very surprised.

In short Malaysian graduates just aren't globally competitive enough, period.

High for me. Normally fresh grads as low as 1 8k, though generally it's a range between 2.3 - 2.7k.
