Hi guys, need some advise from your end, can I know is there huge difference between the 6gb Ram and 8gb Ram version? As i know the main difference is LPDDR4X and LPDDR5, but not sure how significant is the difference on daily use. Visited quite many mi store but all display 8gb ram version only, can't get my hands on the 6gb ram unit to test it. Price difference is about RM500, not sure worth the additional cost? If I get the 6gb Ram version, can it last for minimum of 2 years with those android version updates? Thanks for the advise in advance.

It's all depend on your usage pattern.

If you're the type of people that like to keep every tabs and apps behind, the extra GB of RAM can come handy for you.

Else, 6GB will just practically last as long as 8GB, one reason is that Xiaomi tend to aggressively killing your background tasks too, so you might not utilize the RAM as much as you wished for.

The main thing with 8GB RAM model is the 256GB of storage, that should be your main concern rather than the 2GB RAM difference.

This phone don't come with expendable storage. So if you're a heavy user, 128GB can be quite limited down the line and require frequent housekeep. This phone also came with the ability to record 8k video, and that thing can fill up your storage in no time. 256GB can certainly last you more in long run. Though personally I don't think the price premium of RM500+ is worth it.

Thanks for your opinion. In fact I usually use phone for Youtube/facebook/Whatsapp/Waze only, not into heavy gaming, so I guess 6gb ram should work for me. storage wise I think I am good with 128Gb as my previous honor 10 only 128GB and the most I can utilize is only half of it after 2 years usage. I am attracted by the macro lens in Poco F2 pro, so currently wondering whether I should grab this phone just for the sake of the the lens.

At RM1.5k it's totally a nobrainer as long as your budget allows and it fit your usages.

Seriously, with the trend of phone getting more and more expensive yearly and Qualcomm chipsets getting ridiculously pricier, you may not get a phone that's better than F2 Pro for under RM1.5k even till the mid of 2021.

In short, if you have the budget/needs of a new phone, just go for it, you won't regret at all for this pricing.

ya the qualcomm chipset price is really ridiculous which cause the phone selling price increased. I think I will wait for double 10 or 11 to see if there will be better deal on shopee/lazada since currently I still have phone to use the RM1499 unit is no longer available T.T

Thanks for your info!

Mi 10T also rumoured to launch before 10.10 I think

This is the cheapest SD 865 with 60Hz Amoled, else Xiaomi might also launch K30 Ultra Global?

I don’t think Xiaomi will undercut Poco’s price with their Mi series.

They had always treat their Mi series as the main and more premium line of product. Poco on the other hand is a makeshift of their 2nd tier Redmi brand.

When similar specs, Redmi is always cheaper than Mi. And in this case the Mi seems to be better specs than Poco (Redmi), so I don’t expect it to best Poco in terms of pricing.

I havent play play with 6gb ram Poco F2 pro but i owned Realme 6 4gb & 8gb.........Realme 8gb run smoother some more both 4gb & 8gb Realme 6 is LPDDR4x also can feel the different.
Poco F2 pro 8gb version is LPDDR5 and the ram speed is higher, i think it run smoother than 6gb version. And 256gb storage is much better for long term use cause this phone doesnt come with SDcard slot.

Thats why i choose Poco F2 pro 8gb version.....rm500 different is a lot for me tongue.gif but worth it for long term & daily use.

Basically any middle high and above phone with 6 GB is far than enough.

Additional RAM to it is not very big differences you can notice anymore.

I see, then it seems i should really consider the 8gb version if I want to use for long term. I am more concern on the Ram then the Rom storage since I am good with 128GB. Anyway, thanks for the comment.

I doubt you will notice any difference in real world usage.

If speed is your concern, then go with the LPDDR5 model cause it's 20% faster than LPDDR4X and also more energy efficient. Also you get double the storage.

If I were you though I'd go with the RM1499 model (this price is really a no brainer) and also the model everyone is getting. At RM500 more, those upgrades don't seem to merit 1/3 the cost of the phone.

Then with the RM500 you saved, wait 1 or 2 years then upgrade to the next greatest Poco offering.

Ya I think that is what most of the member here talk about, the difference in term of speed is hardly noticeable, go with 8gb ram if need the 256 storage, but for me I am good with 128, will wait for the 1499 discount again to grab my unit, hopefully during 10.10 or 11.11 there will be such promotion again.

How about battery life? As lpddr5 claim to be more energy efficient compare to lpddr4x
