I remember watching youtube video, saying the airlines will have some statistics, to determine how many tickets they sell, etc. Based on past experience.

But i think early check in does help with it.

But based on what i saw yesterday... AAX flight was relatively empty. Quiet zone about 30% to 40%. But the "normal" zone still quite full maybe 70% 80%, obviously this number is gut feel, didnt really count. One quick glance, dont see that many rows 3 ppl fully seated.

thanks

will check when is the earliest to do online check in

worthwhile depending on what you want to see... himeji has nothing that is worth 1 day (sorry himeji but that's the truth) most famous is castle, unless you also want to see their garden (but if you want to talk about garden, might as weell go Okayama....)
you could do a stop at himeji then go kobe (its a short train ride)

And speaking of Okayama, that whole area got a lot of stuff to see, Kurashiki for one, if you have not been, Kojima, Washuzan/Seto Ohashi, Bitchu-Matsuyama, Kibiji with their scenic bike trail, and the famous kibiji shrine and other stuff. The whole Seto Inland area are lovely and worth spending few days.

As i mentioned to another person few posts ago, since you're going in winter time, you can check out tottori (its snow crab and matsuba crab season). If you plan to drive, after hiroshima, you can go to yamaguchi for a day trip (yamaguchi got a few zekkei spots, the most famous being Motonosumi shrine, but is a super pain to get to with public transport. best is to rent a car)

edit: tbh its also not difficult to just withdraw money at the atm there, the rates aren't that bad.

Thank you for your explanation. Appreciate it alot!!! Will allocate 3 days at Okayama and 1 day at Hiroshima. After looking at Klook, looks like there are way more activities in Hiroshima than Okayama even though Okayama seems like a better centre for transportation.

Have a question regarding the JR pass. I am going to purchase this Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass. I will be travelling to Nara but this pass doesnt cover all the stations to Nara. Does it mean i have to get off the station and repurchase ticket to continue my journey?

Thanks

Okayama, like I mentioned in my previous comment to you, is a hub to many nearby areas. Okayama itself is not that touristy. Hiroshima, after all, is a bigger city compared to Okayama. If you would like to explore Hiroshima proper and also do Miyajima, 1 day is not enough. You should consider at least overnight or more. What do you planned to do for 3 days in Okayama? Are you planning to go to several of those areas i mentioned about? If so, then it is worth to spend that many days in Okayama. If you manage your time properly, you could do Kojima/Kurashiki in 1 day (but do understand you got to really manage time properly because in those areas, buses and trains does not come every 5 minutes, think more like every 1 hr lol)

RE: the Takayama Hokuriku Area pass, you could just ride all the way to Nara and pay the extra/readjusted fare at the exit station. You could also pre-buy the fare from your entry JR station. Example; you board at station A but your pass only covers until station C and you want to go all the way to station F. You could buy the ticket for station C to F at station A and just show the ticket with your pass at the exit station.

edit:
btw, i want to recommend this shop if you're in Hiroshima (if you're non muslim) for some authentic hiroshima style okonomiyaki

https://goo.gl/maps/rohaa7BfwxEypmGs6 (you can hop in here for lunch if you're doing the hiroshima peace memorial park/museum thing)

I just checked, and there are reviews as recent as a month ago, so thank god, the grandma is still alive. Do note she speaks Japanese only. The okonomiyaki is delicious, cheap and you get to enjoy a local atmosphere instead of some touristy joint.

Hi, anyone use EVA Air before? Planning to have a last minute trip to JAPAN this month and looks like EVA Air has the cheapest option with 1 day layover in TPE (I don't mind about the layover). Just curious about the reliability of EVA Air. Anyone?

One of the best lar. I always flew with them, because Taiwanese people likes to go Japan, so EVA got intensive route to Japan. Almost all major & secondary cities airport which other airlines didn't offer. Plus one day almost got 5-7 flight to Tokyo / Kansai.

This also depends you got any flight loyalty program or not? Like I am Star Alliance regular flyer, So ANA are my main airlines of choice, 2nd option was EVA & my 3rd backup are SIA. SIA are only airlines offer from Singapore (nearest to Malaysia) direct flight to Fukuoka & Nagoya (Centrair)

BTW, had to try search for Philippines Airlines / Vietnam Airlines, usually they are cheaper than EVA. If you can affort EVA price, you can had a look on EVA biggest rival which is Starlux. In Taiwan currently the best of the best are Starlux, 2nd was EVA & 3rd was China Airlines.

Starlux economy class meal = business class meal in 99% airlines. Mama mia!! They got even more option to pre-booked from web. all 5 star hotel level of meal.

Bro, just read in one of your post, EVA Air doesn’t allow to leave terminal during long hours layover?

Yes. Taxi will be plenty but get ready to pay about Rm1200 from Haneda to Ginza. Midnight got extra 20% charges.

Taxi in Japan are no jokes. If you got 4 pax as group then taxi fare can split.

Based on my experience last week, train is still possible. My airasia flight was also slightly delayed 15 to 20mins? Forgot to check my watch when we landed.

Turns out that the longest wait i had was luggage, was unlucky in this. I was semi trying to get ahead of everyone including probably another airline from singapore cause a bunch of singaporean behind me. There were ppl ahead of me because my luggage was slower. I have to admit, by the time pass that train ticketing place. It's 1135pm. Abit close.

Remember to settle the visit japan and have your qr code ready then you are relatively good.
