One problem so far.
If fiber straight go in this xdr5480. How to output landline for phone. (my mom no use handphone at all)


Also how i know i get the correct sfp/fiber port.
Because when i search, these seem got few type of port or protocol. What SC what LC etc.

guide look promising, but SIP something something look like out my reach. not understand single bit from the setting doh.gif
but at least know it something doable and able to figure it out later.

so voip phone using RJ45 for connection? or RJ11? the phone itself not cheap.
if using RJ45 than grow another problem for me, old house these thing doesnt exist at all. mega_shok.gif

still thanks everyone who got input to increase my knowledge.

will confirm the exact date fiber it coming, and done the RJ45 wiring first.
most likely will buy that XDR5840, quite good for a router and not so expensive too

so i can test the SPF to see whatever it will work as planned or no, then i will back to this thread to check further detail. thumbup.gif

what ISP are you using? XDR5840 not support VLAN Internet, only VLAN IPTV, I have tried it even UI in Chinese only

Should be ok, however there's few caveat eg needs to plug in fibre to ping/telnet to sfp etc. Just review Anime4000 github repo for more info

This happen when execute ... tx-laser force-on in telnet, it disconnect any connected ONU thay under same fiber split.

apology in advance for potential hijacking the tered (again)

get 300mbps yesterday, with Nokia modem + D-link 1850Z combo.
will be observing here see any good SFP router with RJ11 output

If you want SFP router with RJ11/VoIP... I don't think has one,
You need use VoIP Telephone (IP Phone) like Yealink VoIP

yea, not easy to make that build work because my current telephone build is:
DP > computer room > ONU > using previous RJ11 wiring back to hallroom

maybe me not the target audience for ditching ONU lol
