4g is my main internet right now, using unlimited quota and unlimited hotspot i able to legally plug into modem can reach 30-160m download, 10-12m upload.  One streamyx is old primary, one streamtx for cctv.

Noted about sfp port.  Will study abit make sure what i think will match what result it will provide.

4g just a 'backup' for now maybe a few months.... but previously it still main and faster than my streamyx 8mbps....way way faster.

#outtopic
it is digi infinite 150 (discontinued package, you cant get it now) with 1TB softlimit, unlimited hotspot.
router i using is Huawei B618-65D, quite a powerful router for 4G, ofc price also powerful too.

My method GPON ONU SFP + RB5009 become PON Router meanwhile Wireless AP in another device.

I merge ONU and Router into one device, one plug,
I try to reduce number of plug socket because UPS has limited number of socket

I haven't measure stock ONU power consumption, based on standard DC rating, usually they use around 12V 1A not sure how much AC to DC conversion lost

SFP only using 3.3V and sip power from SFP Host (Router), there will be single AC to DC conversion lost, I believe it extends UPS Uptime while I safely shutdown home lab server.

another thing is, look tidy when Fiber connect directly to Router,

also, TM cannot disable ONU WebGUI, you can read TX and RX dBm power, easy to troubleshoot...

that switch is quite powerful. i'm planning to setup networking for my new house. is it good to use PoE WIFI AP directly from this switch?

am thinking to put about 3 APs on my ceiling, pull cable into upper floor. also, PoE CCTV is quite convenient without need additional power cabling

I'm personally using a TL-SG1008P for my switch and it costed me about 280, and is currently running a 1080p capable HikVision camera + 1 AP. Fo GPON ONU afaik you can run a switch with an extra SFP+ cage and run it in unmanaged mode(1 SFP+/1 RJ45) and use it to pipe through to your router WAN. Not the best solution but it'll work if you don't want to spend on a router with SFP+ cage.

Cool
Do you know the sfp module that they used. From what I know, the Nokia G-010S-A doesn't work with the Mikrotik hEX S (while it is working with the RB2011).

My stick that I bought from Taobao arrived yesterday. When everyone went to bed, I finally able to set it up. Currently, I have unplugged the dusty Huawei BTU given by TM.

I also got my phone system setup by using Freepbx which able to receive multiple simulatenous incoming calls to my Unifi phone number.

Following up, I am now having problem using IPTV services

Question here is, do I need to enable IGMP Snooping for the stick ?

Hi all guru's

I have RB4011iGS+ Mikrotik v7.6 and would like to use GPON. My area is using Unifi with Nokia Modem. Black colour.

I am moving to Maxis Fiber (currently on Unifi) 500mbps and would like to run mikrotik with Fiber GPON and also 4G stick.

Question;
1) I would like to ask what GPON is compatible with my unit? Can someone recommend a GPON which does not run hot?
2) What general speed can i expect when using GPON? on the download and upload?

Lastly, how to setup for Maxis?

Thank you.

Hi all sifu..

Currently I have a Huawei EchoLife HG8240H5 GPON Terminal (UNIFI). I want to replace this modem with other brand modem GPON so that I can get the maximum speed.

What brand and model do you recommend?

Finally I did it..
It is working on my ER-X-SFP with the exact XPON you guys had recommended.

I have 2 questions tho...

1. I can no longer telnet to 192.168.1.1 as Software caused connection abort. But I am able to open it at browser with http://192.168.1.1
Should I be concern of this?

2. My plan is 500mbps but now after switch to XPON, it only runs 360+mbps..
How to get this back to 500mbps? I tried using ori ONT, it is still running at 500mbps

ODI Stick and RB5009 to get 2.5Gb mode

however, this still depend on your area, mine in particular are capped at upload only.
