no need to laugh coz this is not mistake. Inspiron 1520 are designed only for vista. Dell did not said that 1520 fully support winxp. blush.gif just accept the fact. you want to install winxp then you find own third party driver or write your self or which ever you capable.

It seems that the inspiron has quite a number of minor problems,
screen and graphic especially...

for some users with truelife display, the bottom part of the screen tend to be brighter than the top, they said this condition as light leakage.
this condition is especially obvious when you use plane black background.
Some said this is normal to laptop screen, some said the leakage is mild and they dont bother, some said it's so serious and cannot be accepted.
perhaps, we need more advise from inspirons users.

Notebook LCD is inferior to the desktop one. Even my Dell 2007WFP with S-IPS screen have bleeding problem so there is no point complaining. Besides notebook prices has come down far too much lately even though the spec improved but the price keep dropping.

agree with you...
but if too serious, it's not a normal sign, right?
i heard that the bleeding problem only occur on truelife screen?
if i customized to WSXGA+, will it make difference? i dont think so...
BTW, any way to get the bluetooth integrated?

Bleeding problem shouldn't be deemed 'NORMAL'. It's a manufacturing default, a sign of low QC. I guess you guys should wait for a month or so after you received your laptop before asking for a replacement unit, cause now that Dell is trying to rush the laptops out, you will most likely be getting back a unit with the same problem.

Maybe after this peak period the QC will improve.
