Take it easy WildChai. This is not a contest. :-)
At the very least this post will make you aware of the availability discounts if you have yet to place your order. Back to your question. I ordered via phone. Asked for discount. In the past the discounts are normally not given especially during promotions. However, still no harm asking. Was surprised when SA offered to take $100 off the total price without much hesistation. That is why i am asking if anyone else was offered a discount and how much. fyi: ah..noticed a specs from one of the user here. so copy and paste. no need type again 1. INTEL C2D T7100 1.8Ghz 2. 2GB DDR2 RAM 667Mhz (Free upgrade) 3. 120GB SATA Hard disk 4. DVD Burner 5. GeForce 8600M GT 256MB DDR2 6. Intel Pro Wireless-N 7. 6-cell battery 8. Windows Vista Home Premium 9. 15.4" WXGA with TrueLife 10. Dell Backpack upgraded 11. Bluetooth usb mouse 3.6k++ QUOTE(WildChai @ Aug 6 2007, 08:51 PM) This post has been edited by tanmat: Aug 6 2007, 09:58 PM |

no. left it at default 1 year. For home use only and will not be travelling outside with it. The only travelling this laptop will see is from room to room. I have used dell laptops for more than 10 years and I have one laptop that is 7 years old and still kicking except for the battery (harddisk died though and had to replace that) :-)
Also, i would not like to use a laptop more than 3 years old at the rate technology is moving. Another reason to change. lolz QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Aug 6 2007, 10:30 PM) Added on August 6, 2007, 11:56 pmIf you miss this one, then wait for the merdeka promotion. Every year they will have one. But in the past you can normally ask the SA for the last promo although this has passed. QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Aug 6 2007, 08:58 PM) yes and it's still available until midnight if u know how.....but then again since this weekend the pc fair would be held at other places i think they will be offering the same pricing again this weekend This post has been edited by tanmat: Aug 6 2007, 11:56 PM |

I think Dell delivery is superb unless they got no stock.
They dun charge till they ship. I think it doesnt hurt if you choose 160GB, better lcd (1440x940 Truelife - not many will like Truelife including me), 9 cell battery and T7300 2.0GHz.. totals up to around 4.3k+ but definately an improvement. |

I manage to buy mine as the last few customers before pc fair closed. Yeap they do offer the free "premium mouse" and 15months mcafee, on top of that they'll give u a 100 bucks off the price. thats prolly the only reason why i bought it on the spot.
I was told that white, black, yellow, pink and red has sufficient stock atm, other colors are required to wait at least 3 weeks to 5 weeks. And complete cover only covers msia, sg, philipines, aussie (if im not mistaken), so if u took this and u were to be abroad and ur dell is faulty, u gotta send it back to these countries to be entitled for the complete cover. Got my 1520 at a whoopin 4.4k below are the specs -C2D T7300 (2.0ghz, 4mb cache 800mhz fsb) -15" widescreen truelife -hope i don regret this -2x 1gb 667 ram -160gb sata hhd -8x dvdr (heard plenty of complains on this) -Geforce 8600gt 256mb GDDR2222 -4965AGN wifi minicard -audigy card (just add 35, only applicable in pc fair) -9 cell battery -3 Yrs Complete cover btw i just went to dell's site, apparently their new warranty is called "Dell Care" - 3Yrs limited warranty (includes night & weekend) + 3Yrs plus phone support + 3Yrs CompleteCover + 1Yr HelpDesk @ 659 from a default 1year warranty. apart from the grainy screen n leaking, wat other problems does other 1520 users get? QUOTE(David83 @ Aug 6 2007, 08:56 PM) For your information, they does give RM100 rebate if u upgrade yo package more than RM200. Besides, they oso giv out FREE Dell Premium Optical Mouse FREE Norton or mcafee anti-virus up to 15month Plus, they also give out free usb Hub for those who make payment on spot. While stock LAST I make my order at 6.45++ p.m , when i ask for the hub, only last 2 left So try to get some freebies in the next pc fair. My spec are as follow: T5450 1.66Ghz/667mhz Vista basic 14.1 Widescreen + truecolor 2GB DDR2 Ram 120 SATA HDD Internal 8x DVD+/-RW dual layer Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS Intel 4965AGN wifi-N Integrated Stereo Sound Midnight blue with 2MP webcam Norton Antivirus OEM 15 month 9-cell battery 90W primary AC adapter (must for upgrade the video card) Targus pulse 2 backpack !year limited warranty total worth RM3079 (My budget was 3k) Is just a ok package for me, i wish to get vista premium. i will hunt some cheaper copy of vista at campus In addition, i found that the 2.0MP webcam got delay when capturing image. Will it get better if i upgrade the video card? Any owner of 1520 /142 could help me diagnosis on this? THX |

QUOTE(tanmat @ Aug 7 2007, 02:47 PM) I might be mistaken but its not a card but just a software upgrade. And if you look around the forums you can find something similiar. Oh, I though it's a hardware.I have purchased this for the 640m before. I could not find any noticeable difference in the sound output. QUOTE(ember(tm) @ Aug 7 2007, 05:38 PM) I've searched high and low for the solution and I found that there's some people facing this kinda problem too. There are two possibilities I can think of:1. The game itself, but not everyone is facing this problem. 2. The GPU is too hot to handle the game. QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Aug 7 2007, 07:41 PM) Errr... it has nothing to do with the originality of the game, the only thing that matter is the CD key, if you buy an original game but use a pirated cd key, it's considered as pirated and vice versa. So I think that this is not one of the reason why the game crash. |
