Hasbullah Awang is still the best local commentator
*
Yeah LOL. We should give credit to Hasbullah Awang bcos he appears in almost every sports events covered by RTM!!! (Olympic games, SEA games, Commenwealth, football, tour de langkawi, GP 500cc....etc lol...) maybe bcos RTM doesnt have enough commentators to cover different sports doh.gif

However, he does make mistakes. Most of the time unbelieveable. Examples:

"It dia....sedikit percikan air yang banyak" (diving event in Commenwealth 98')

I seriously doubt the validity of that claim as well. I had heard he gets much less which is why he's into so many other things, like his own footy programme, the MyTeam assignment, etc.

I find him a bit on the arrogant side.

When he took over as temporary coach for this local team (NS Naza or TM Melaka I think?, he straightaway commented that the previous coach (Irfan Bakti IINM) did a horrible job with the team or something along those lines.
The retorts that followed were pretty interesting. Can't remember them exactly though, but the gist of it was the fact that Shebby has achieved nothing significant as a coach.

Tsk. Anyway he's the best local english football commentator.

Yeah, it was TM Melaka. The team played horrible. They lost. He don't have the right to comment other coaches when shebby himself is not up to that par.

Added on July 23, 2007, 11:39 amIs it true that shebby is the brother to karamjit singh the rally driver?

I can't say for sure mate, right now it's all hearsay. I had heard that it's more around the region of 4-5K, but like I said, it's just what someone said.

I do believe 4-5k is abit short if he really working with Espn, I assume over 6k. If i meet him again maybe i try to ask if he can give me a hint on how much commentator salary.
