From religious point of view, the story of Sodom & Gomorrah is the main reason why a lot of Abrahamic religion are against homosexuality. According to Christians and Muslims, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of their rampant homosexual behavior, namely, sodomy. They believe that God destroyed the two cities because they were practising homosexuality. That is why most conservative Muslim and even Christians takes this story as a justification to condemn gays and homosexuality.

However, there is an important question that deserves consideration for both Christians & Muslims. Did the people of Sodom & Gomorrah receive divine punishment for being homosexual or for attacking Prophet Lot and his heavenly guests/angels?
