National Coach: Alan Vest (ex-Sarawak coach)

From a global perspective Mexico are a small side. Ok let's take a look at examples a little closer to home. Vietnam and Thailand are small sides.

With such an embarrassing result so far... FAM should come out and appologize to the Malaysia public rather than saying "I won't quit because of failure and I will continue to do better..."

FAM should face the fact that they do not have sufficient knowledge to improve Malaysia Football... You might got the heart to do it but you got no brain to manage it... no offence... But it is best to accept the fact and leave the job to the expert that can really contribute to football of Malaysia.

I have lost faith to Malaysia long time ago... probably more than 5 years already... watching local league football is boring and I do not wish to waste money to go stadium cheering for a team that play football at level which I can usually watch on school field.

I do not see any improvement on Malaysia Football at all... instead the football quality of Malaysia is drop to kampung level...

The problem with malaysian is expectation. We have to accept the fact that our football team is longer a dominant force even in SE asia. Maybe we were great in the 70s and 80s but that was history. Now we need to start again in order to improve our national team. Changing the FAM management should help but don't expect an overnight result. There still a long way to go.

i would be happy if the all the member in FAM is replaced with a new batch of guy.....in my opinion, our national team performance is related with the management team....

KUALA LUMPUR - Setelah terkeluar daripada saingan ke suku akhir lebih awal dan bolos 10 gol, barulah jurulatih negara, Norizan Bakar terfikir untuk menerapkan corak bertahan apabila Malaysia melayani Iran di Stadium Nasional, Bukit Jalil, malam ini.

Menyedari Iran tetap memburu kemenangan bagi menjuarai Kumpulan C pusingan akhir bola sepak Piala Asia ini sekalipun hanya perlu seri untuk mara, Norizan turut menetapkan matlamat untuk anak buahnya mengurangkan gol yang bakal membolosi gawang skuad negara.

''Kami perlu berpijak di bumi nyata. Kami tidak mampu menang dengan Iran tetapi pendekatan kami dalam perlawanan itu nanti perlu tepat iaitu bertahan dan menyekat lawan," katanya pada sidang akhbar di Hotel Prince di sini, semalam.

Katanya, dua perlawanan lalu yang menyaksikan Malaysia dibelasah 5-1 dan 5-0 oleh China dan Uzbekistan sudah cukup mengajarnya dan skuad negara bahawa sebarang percubaan untuk menyerang hanya akan mendedahkan barisan belakang sehingga dihukum lawan.

Ujar Norizan, ada beberapa muka baru dan rombakan dalam kesebelasan utama negara yang telah difikirkannya tetapi kesemuanya cuma boleh didedahkan beberapa jam sebelum perlawanan pukul 8.35 malam ini.

Ditanya sama ada Suffian Ab. Rahman bakal menggantikan penjaga gol utama, Azizon Kadir, jurulatih skuad negara ini turut enggan mengesahkannya sekalipun terdapat segelintir pemain lain yang sentiasa memanaskan bangku simpanan sejak siri persahabatan, bulan lalu lagi.

Bagaimanapun katanya: ''Semangat pasukan saya kini agak menurun tetapi kami perlu menjalankan tanggungjawab untuk menamatkan persaingan ini. Kami sedar kami dikritik hebat kerana dua kekalahan itu tetapi kami menganggapnya sebagai lumrah dalam bola sepak."

Norizan mengakui sebarang pakar psikologi terbaik dunia pun tidak mampu memulihkan semangat pasukannya kini tetapi mereka akan cuba menjadikannya sebagai sebahagian pengajaran.

Mengenai isu peletakan jawatan Timbalan Tengku Abdullah sebagai Timbalan Presiden Persatuan Bola Sepak Malaysia (FAM) dan beberapa pegawai majlisnya, Norizan terus enggan diheret sama ke dalamnya dan lebih berminat menumpukan perhatian kepada aksi dengan Iran.

This has just confirmed that our national coach is tactically inept. There is nothing wrong with trying to attack. However there is seriously something wrong if u try to attack and have your backline defend so deep. It's pathetic that our manager doesn't even have a general understanding of the game.
