Big test for Malaysian bonds

PETALING JAYA: Already on the verge of being removed from the World Government Bond Index (WGBI), Malaysia faces another issue affecting its position in the index.

According to CGS-CIMB Research, China’s recent inclusion in the WGBI would result in the dilution of Malaysia’s weightage.

This could, in turn, potentially lead to multi-billion ringgit net outflow from the Malaysian capital market.

“Assuming China’s inclusion at a weight of 5.7%, a proportional dilution for existing WGBI constituents will result in Malaysia’s weight declining from 0.39% to 0.368%.

The underlying assets in IPF/SIPF not the fund itself especially SSTLRAF which holdd MGS.

If MGS being thrown out by foreign institutional investors, what you think will happen?

Even though, foreign holdings for MGS and government sukuk is pretty much limited.

I won't call it quarterly interest.
In unit trust/mutual fund world, they called it distribution.

Please check with CS on your distribution instruction and if you can change the instruction easily via CS.
