welcome, have fun, stay safe. Bike choices quite limited, I think friend said emonda sold out til 3rd quarter this year. some brands only have shipment once a year, friend got a lapierre last year, this year even shop dunno when coming it, so his bike is very rare cos only 10 units in Malaysia lol.

ah nice. trek emonda and domane aluminium frames welding quite smooth, if dont look closely you would think the frame was carbon. and some midrange carbon frame arent much lighter than alu anyways haha. what size tyres are you using for the domane? 28-32mm?

ah ok. wire bead, not the smoothest. once worn out or itchy change to nicer tyres and feel a world of difference haha. first thing I change on bikes are usually tyres, stock ones not as nice lol. but if not used to nice stuff then keep using the r1 until worn out before changing haha. once used to nice tyres there's no turning back

haha habis kena poison already haha. easiest and cheapest way to change how a bike feels is the tyres and tubes. heard latex increases comfort by a lot too, but most latex tubes come with short valve stems and I'm not keen on using extender cos its a potential leak point. and latex tubes for tyres above 28mm not common too.

Not cheap tire for bikes. Gp4000 sure to be 130 something years ago and i just got my shwalbe one replaced with gp5000 for almost 500 ringgit front and back

Average up 2kmh and downsize from 28c to 25c

Can feel harshness worst as need higher psi to run

But its faster

My current tyres are vittoria corsa 2.0 28mm, found on shopee rm175 each, considered cheap so try la. 320tpi very comfy, not puncturing as often as the corsa 1.0 which I threw away after 6 punctures in 1 month, puncture protection layer seemed non existent. used sworks, pirelli p zero velo, michelin power competition, no complaints. schwalbe one (before pro one) was not bad but didnt have good wet traction, rubino pro, gp4000 sii also used before, I cant say I would recommend lol

tyres is really so expensive these days.
i was naive thinking a good pair can last for 2-3 years- but i could not be more wrong.

just change my into my 5th pair- Started in Sept 2019 and just done total 9000km

GP5000 is the best, but a small patch size of 10cents peel off. i think coz my stupidity of during a small skids last time. There gone 450 RM

Goodyear was a decent pair too... but wear off really fast. (like 2000km or so)- and keep having lots of puncture. Their puncture resistant is really low. Watch the Allen Boey trip to Penang- once of the guy was having 4X puncture using Goodyear and curse like mad.
i rather blame my poor luck then the tyres but cant be such co-incidence right

wanted to go back to GP, but seems most place no stock these days.

Swalbe Pro One wear off pretty quick too right?

there is advice of going to tyre of one grade down- but... really meh?
focus so much to get the bike light and fast, then add 80gram on the tyre which is most significant part in term of rolling... i could not bear with that decision.
