Quite an interesting Q&A sheet. (For ASB)
http://www.pnb.com.my/pdf/MEDIARELEASE/201...0-%20Public.pdf One question about dividend payout for all ASx FP funds: If dividend is calculated from 1st of that month to 30/31 of that month, then why is it that so many people spam for units on the first day of each month, more so on the day of dividend payout? Is it because the first day of that particular month is also the beginning of calculation for the minimum monthly balance, so everyone wants to get as high as possible a minimum monthly balance? Thanks for the info. Still learning how to calculate dividend payout from ASNB FP funds at this moment. |

QUOTE(TOS @ Dec 19 2019, 08:49 AM) Quite an interesting Q&A sheet. (For ASB) 1. 1st day is a buffer period for distribution calculation that is based on the monthly-minimum balance. That means if you buy units on the 1st of the month, your minimum balance would include said units. e.g. Your current balance is 0 and you bought 5,000 units on the 1st of December, the minimum balance for December is 5,000. If you had bought your units on the 3rd of December, the minimum balance of that month is 0 http://www.pnb.com.my/pdf/MEDIARELEASE/201...0-%20Public.pdf One question about dividend payout for all ASx FP funds: If dividend is calculated from 1st of that month to 30/31 of that month, then why is it that so many people spam for units on the first day of each month, more so on the day of dividend payout? Thanks for the info. Still learning how to calculate dividend payout from ASNB FP funds at this moment. 2. The 1st of the month is also the first day that investors could redeem their units without losing out on the distribution of the previous month So it is like a "transaction" date between buyers of the units, and sellers of the units. I am assuming that you are not Bumiputra, so you would need to chase the units, buying whatever was sold. |

That would eliminate the sudden surge in demand for units on the beginning of every month, since if compounded daily, one would not lose one whole month's interest simply because one don't get to buy units on the first day of that particular month. |

QUOTE(ikanbilis @ Dec 18 2019, 12:35 PM) So quiet today...let me spice something up! Hi, Year end sale! I am letting go 5000 units of ASM3 at RM1.01. First come first serve only! PM today to deal. [attachmentid=10374463] Don Don cyberkiddo18 alex_leo nightpipper Is it still available for sale? I went to bank to open ASN online account but the staff said need to make investment of at least RM1k then can open account. Is this true? I plan to go to bank again with some money ready to open account. I saw the official website said there are doing maintenance for the calculation of income to the members. Will my account opening cannot be done? Besides, any tips on which funds to buy? I am non- bumiputera. |

They run a business and paying daily interest means they have to fork out more money to pay interest.Wouldn't it be better if ASNB compound the interest daily instead of on a monthly basis? That would eliminate the sudden surge in demand for units on the beginning of every month, since if compounded daily, one would not lose one whole month's interest simply because one don't get to buy units on the first day of that particular month. There is no issue for demand for any days. Whenever someone sells, the units would be immediately snatched by investors. |

QUOTE(rocketm @ Dec 19 2019, 03:18 PM) Hi, No more sale at the moment but watch out this space for another year end/new year sale. Is it still available for sale? Will my account opening cannot be done? Besides, any tips on which funds to buy? I am non- bumiputera. Its only RM100 to open an account with asnb. Maintenance does not affect other funds like asm, asm2 and asm3. The staff just too lazy to try open the account for you. Try to be nice but persistent to ask for help from the staff. Any one of the 3 funds stated above would be sufficient because once you have one account, you can open the other two online. |

I saw there are other few VP fund, is it not eligible to buy online? Just to confirm that the charge to buy online is RM1 per transaction regardless of any amount. Does the bank will be going to sell me the VP fund instead of FP fund? Does ASM a good investment? Why you are selling off your shares? This post has been edited by rocketm: Dec 19 2019, 03:47 PM |

VP also may cause your investment to suffer if stock market is bad. ASM is a safe investment but offer only around 5%. Could be less next year. Im selling off some units to spend for new year lor. Your money is not yours until you spend it. This post has been edited by ikanbilis: Dec 19 2019, 04:36 PM |
