Most knowledgeable people that I am talking to are still predicting between 5% and 5.5% for ASB. I hope they are correct.

That's I heard too..
Many target is 5sen 💪
They says ASB have "strong financial"...
Long history.... Bla bla bla... (If I say details... Then it's become off topic & racing too 😬)

I have a question. myASNB has new interface now.

Remember program ADAM50? the program that puts in RM200 into Bijak/DIdik account in ASB or ASM. Are these ADAM50 account has a special allocation from normal ASB (for adult)? Reason was I noticed when logged into myASNB, I can see these sections "Beli Dana Baru" and the "+" sign.

If I chose Beli Dana Baru, it will failed because it's fully allocated. When I used the "+" sign, I can purchase more units.

These 2 icons are different? It seems like "Beli Dana Baru" is for normal ASB allocation while the "+" is for Bijak/Didik? So it means Bijak/Didik still has allocation?

If I understand correctly, if baby is Bumi the ASB you can top up till 200k. If baby is non Bumi the AS1M you can top up till 50k.

All 3 have stakes in Sapura, but they are not directly comparable since the ARs don't show the fund holdings at the same time.

They invest in sapura only using asn fund or both asn and asb?

Also anyone know what date they will announce the interest for 2022?

I am non-bumi, so I only know about ASM, ASM2 and ASM3. However, another VP fund I own, ASN Sara 1 does not have stakes in Sapura, based on their most recent interim report.

As for dividend announcement, look for the date of "Financial Year End" here: https://www.asnb.com.my/asnbv2_2funds_EN.php#hargatetap

The next day after the end of financial year is the day when dividends will be credited into your account.

Meanwhile, PNB/ASNB and EPF will not be affected by FSIE implementation.

We will get a good indication of how, if at all, PNB products will be affected when ASB declares its dividend in the next few days. I know that it is not yet the relevant financial year but PNB may have been planning to hold back some dividend this year if next years dividend was expected to be impacted by tax. Now that is known not to be the case we can hopefully look forward to some reasonably good news in a few days.

if you are not in a hurry,...
i would suggest you wait....
for you may not like the announced dividend rate..

btw,...is there any reason to wait? will the price become cheaper after the dividend announcement?
i am more concern about the rise in interest rate if i wait

Do you mean the interest rate of a loan to buy ASB? If interest rates rise then the ASB dividend should rise too. So I guess it comes down to the individual's appetite to risk. I am in a real dilemma and I am hoping that the dividend announcement will help to push me one way or the other.

i am not sure how correlated they are or the correlation of quantum of rise
but the anxiety will be felt if
example....
Dec 2021 loan rate is 3.45%
Jan ASB announced dividend rate for 2021 is 3.5% (down 0.75 compared to last year)
Jan BNM rises interest rate by 0.25%, thus as expected ASB loan rate will rise by 0.25 too to 3.7%
May BNM rises interest rate by 0.25% again...loan rate will be 3.95%

.....will have to wait till Jan 2023 to know how much the dividend will be

btw,....on that "I am in a real dilemma and I am hoping that the dividend announcement will help to push me one way or the other."
not sure how much you have in there,...just do a calculation of a 0.5% or 1% variance in monetary value (amount in RM) dividend you will get....
they maybe you can clear the dilemma, for you can see what $$ value will push you one way or the other way

I do see what you are saying. I am no expert but I know a couple of people who are better versed than I in these matters and they are adamant that, whilst basic fund performance is obviously a factor, the powers at be will always do what is necessary to ensure that there is a significantly better return on ASB and ASM Fixed Priced products than the 12 month Maybank FD rate - which at the moment is very low of course. I cannot, therefore, see ASB dropping below 4.25% or ASM dropping below 4% and I think that each fund will do better than it did last year.

I have no more than a gut feeling to go on but I am hoping that the need for some good news will influence those that decide the dividend and that it is at least 5%. We may see in the next day or so.

if you meant the loan rate will drops,....check the FD thread,...see how is the trend of the rate now...
if you mean the dividend rate will drop,......just hope not,.....but who knows,...maybe they need to behind the door, top up or replenish the books due to over paying of dividend of the pasts? if it can happens to TH,...it can also possible to happens to others too devil.gif
