QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Jul 27 2022, 04:59 PM) I got it from shopee. Direct from china. They call this the Revo red coating. Obviously it's not original HJC. There is a lot of HJ26 visors in the market since it's shared with the RPHA 11 and 70.Paid 65bux. The tear off nubs are huge and annoying but I replaced it with some smaller pinlock posts that I had lying around. It don't seal as good as the original visor so it lets in a smidge of wind noise but acceptable. The additional visor lock doesn't work (but still latches on fine so no issues) Yes it is too dark at night. To note the finishing scratches easily and smudges very easily and a PITA to clean. I also have the similarly coated Revo red clear visor but it's not usable at night, too much internal reflection. I bought a whole set. The Revo red, chrome, light smoke, clear and Revo clear. https://shopee.com.my/product/296204070/152...61-1658977612.9HJ26 visor shopee ![]() There is a bunch of local sellers selling the same visor, albeit a bit more expensive than china direct. The HJ 26 visor is pretty flat design so it's easy for even knock off visors to be distortion free. If I were to nit pick maybe clarity is not as good, but thats likely the coated finish compared to the clear factory visorThere is no discernable differences between the clear knock-off compared to the factory one....other than fitment tolerances and the annoying tear off nubs. I've experienced this scary moment when a flying stone ( I think) smash into my visor when I was on the highway, doing highway speed. It was so loud. Good thing was that the original visor was able to hold up to the impact. Scratched and slightly cracked. Hjc , good stuff. |

Interstate travel I still use my clear ori visor intead of these fancy ones just to be safe from high speed projectilesI've experienced this scary moment when a flying stone ( I think) smash into my visor when I was on the highway, doing highway speed. HJC, if not Carbon Fibre then a bit heavy compared to other brands but it's one of the quietest helmets I've ever tried...
Riding with HJC I90 and C80 now |

Guys, need your opinion.
I am noobs in riding bike, not into fast ride, only small scooter. Wanted to try out full face helmet. What would be your recommendation for a newbie to budget buy just to try out full face for long ride? Anything I should look out for? I know wind noise is one thing that can annoy me big time 'cos it muffle up the bluetooth speakers. |

by the way, I had gone tested the HJC CS-15, but shop does not have XXL size and XL is too hard on my cheek.
Going to look for another shop that has XXL for testing. |

QUOTE(WH4CockcooBird @ Jul 29 2022, 10:26 AM) by the way, I had gone tested the HJC CS-15, but shop does not have XXL size and XL is too hard on my cheek. Helmet sizing is for the crown of your head.Going to look for another shop that has XXL for testing. If your cheeks are too squished, i am wondering if thats what it is supposed to be. A new helmet is supposed to be uncomfortably tight at the cheek area until it beds in, after a few weeks of use. Most people get a too big helmet because they think the cheek pads are too tight then realizes it that it is loose fitting a few weeks later. Unless you have a particularly round lower face, most helmets would fit well if the crown of your head fits well. A more premium helmet will allow you to swap cheek pads for thinner pads or customize cheek pads themselves for a better fit. For example, if your helmet come in 3 shell sizes, (XS/S, M/L and XL-2XL) and say you buy a M shell size, you can swap out the M cheekpads for L cheekpads as the helmet shell size is the same, manufacturer use different thickness of the pads to make a M helmet, a L size by using thinner pads. If you fit an XL helmet, then see if you can buy XXL cheek pads separately. The XL and XXL shell size should be identical This post has been edited by jaycee1: Jul 29 2022, 01:25 PM lowpro liked this post

I know wind noise is one thing that can annoy me big time 'cos it muffle up the bluetooth speakers. A full face will undoubtedly be heavier than your current open face. The more premium helmets will be a composite or carbon shell, which can be as light as an open face, but we are talking something north of 2,000. Zeus has budget full carbon full faces that are quite light at the 1000rm range. Look for the safety certs, at bare minimum, look for something with ECE 22-05. ECE 22-06 is out already but still not many available in the market. If you are using bluetooth coms, look for a helmet with speaker pockets. Assuming if you have the budget, try getting a full face that is compatible with pinlock, as full faces tend to fog up easier in cooler weather or when raining. There are aftermarket stick on "pinlocks" if your helmet is not compatible with one. If you are planning to buy one online, please go to a shop and test the helmet fitting first then order the same one online. remember the helmet is supposed to be tight at the cheeks until is beds in after a few weeks to use. When testing out helmet, tightness in the cheek area is still ok.Going to look for another shop that has XXL for testing. Eventually the padding here will fit into the shape of your face and gives you a snug fit. Most important is the crown area, and the shape of your head Vs the shell. Not so much about the tightness in the chin pad. Don't worry about it. This was my mistake when I was buying my first FF helmet, I bought a bigger size as I felt the padding was pressing on my cheek tightly. Few months later when the padding sets in, the helmet was loose. Regretted for not buying the correct size. Luckily that was a cheaper hjc (IS17). QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Jul 29 2022, 01:36 PM) Weight, budget and features. I fully understood the sizing part. A full face will undoubtedly be heavier than your current open face. Zeus has budget full carbon full faces that are quite light at the 1000rm range. Look for the safety certs, at bare minimum, look for something with ECE 22-05. Crown size fit tightly, but the cheek pads are overly tight to a point my wisdom tooth on both sides felt like gonna be squeezed out of the gum after putting on for 10mins in the showroom. Was thinking about changing to XXL cheek pad, but I needed to test the XXL helmet first and see if it's loose around the crown or fitting. Will be visiting another shop tomorrow to check out their XXL CS-15. No intention to splurge yet 'cos I am waiting for GT Air 2 stock to come in for the color I want. I am just not too sure if I really want a full face in the long run, hence testing out with budget one to start with. CS-15 looks right from budget and build perspective to be experimenting. Appreciate your kind input. |
