That must be a short circuit coming from your TV aerial into the boxes. Check your connection.

Yes. Contact your building management, ask if whether the MATV (Master Antenna) system supports digital TV or not.

If not, and your building management refuse to upgrade the system, then your last option would be using your own TV antenna.

What is your apartment/condo name? Which city and state?

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE AND RECONFIGURATION WORKS ON MPTS SIGNAL

For information, MYTV will be conducting a preventive maintenance and reconfiguration work on the MPTS signal transmission signal involving RTM mux only on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 starting from 2.00 am - 5.00 am.

We urge you to put your decoders or integrated television (IDTV) on ‘standby mode’ during this process.

If you encounter any service interruption, please contact MYTV Careline at 1300-80-6988 for any assistance.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Thank you.
What you guys think would happen after 9th December on Mux 2 (RTM mux)? hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

A comment from MYTV Broadcasting:
QUOTE
Terima kasih kerana menghubungi MYTV Broadcasting.
It says this works would "affect entire coverage area" and all MYTV box users. Affect entire coverage area?? hmm.gif Some PID changes again, I guess?

Btw, MPTS stands for Multiple Program Transport Streams, which is the "technical method" used by MYTV Broadcasting to distribute digital TV channels nationwide.

Centralised antenna system (MATV) must be upgraded to support/receive digital TV signals due to technical reasons. Otherwise you won't receive any signal at all.
Malaysia's analogue TV broadcasts has been switched off end of last year, so it's no more already.

Or else, you'll have to use your own UHF antenna.

You can consider get antenna models like this, which is known to be pretty good:
https://shopee.com.my/Digital-Antenna-UHF-H...38079.313253815
https://shopee.com.my/VT333-MR-U805OD-UHF-H...8079.1369423471
https://shopee.com.my/MYTV-TD-5E-ANTENNA-TV...99971.941931668
Since the antenna is small in size, basically you can just place it anywhere near the TV as long you get a good reception, so not necessary must put outside of your house or something (depends on location too).

Or, you want to buy an outdoor one also ok:
https://shopee.com.my/ME-Uhf-HDTV-Outdoor-D...38079.435769904

As for the cable, please use RG-6 cable instead of 3C-2V or 5C-2V cable, for a better overall cable performance = better signal reception.
RG-6 coaxial cable is the same cable type used in satellite TV, such as Astro.

If your building's centralise antenna system (MATV) doesn't support digital TV signals, then it means it doesn't support already la. It doesn't matter how new or old your building are. It is either they implement the system or not only.

Building managements are not obligated to upgrade its centralise antenna system to support digital TV signals. In fact. not every building management out there are fully aware about the digital TV switchover anyway. Even so, maybe they don't see the demand or the need to upgrade it (they easily assume that people nowadays are either just go for Astro or Internet like TM Unifi/Maxis Fibre/TIME Fibre), plus it is also a cost for them to upgrade them too, unless they really see the need of upgrading it; or many residents in the building made a complaint to the management to upgrade its MATV system.

This is the visual difference between analogue and digital TV...

All broadcasts of the analogue TV channels were fully ceased on 14 Oct 2019 for Peninsular Malaysia, and 31 Oct 2019 for Sabah and Sarawak.

The more straightforward solution now is, if your location has a good overall coverage from the TV transmitter tower, then you can just use indoor UHF antenna to receive digital TV signals, and forget about connecting to the wall's centralise TV antenna port.

You can refer to the digital TV frequencies used according to the TV transmitter tower here: https://www.mytvbroadcasting.my/pdf/Lists-of-frequency.pdf
If you're not sure on which tower you should refer to, you can share with us on which apartment/condo name you're staying, which city and state? Then I can help you check...

There is no difference between distributing an analogue and a digital TV channel on a MATV system
They channels are different, so some sort of retune is needed.
The antenna may be facing in the wrong direction.

Far more likely the old MATV is just broken from vandalism, water leaks and lightning strikes.
At one stage my condos MATV had 240 Vac sitting on the socket centre pin, lethal.

Before we come up with suggestions, I'd like to say we lack National Identity. Its hard to build one especially since we are a multi-racial nation.

NTV7 should show more English, Chinese, Thai and Korean shows.

Over at TV3, the Filipino drama at 3PM in the afternoon between Monday and Thursday after it came to an end in its final episode, no more new or replacement Filipino dramas to show?

Same goes for the Hindi series on TV3 at 4PM between Monday and Thursday no more new or replacement Hindi series to show?
