i think the mcp (motherboard chipset) is too high, also it is physically too warm after an hour of use, i really want to know what are your temperatures to know if this is or not normal

this version of 4520 has an athlon 64 x2 (dual core) 1.9 ghz, 3 gb ram, nvidia geforce 7000m

sorry for my bad english, greetings and thanks in advance biggrin.gif

Hello. Im currently having trouble deciding which OS i should install

What would you recommend for Acer 4520G?
(Turion 64 x2 TL-60 2.0 Ghz with 2.0gb RAM installed)

Vista Home Premium/Ultimate x64/x86?

Sort of clueless as to the difference.

Any reply would be appreciated.

hi guyz..

ive been using the aspire 4520 for quite some time now and ive been facing the same problem when i played warcraft 3, cs and serious sam 2.
it seems that there is a time frame for me to play these games smoothly (approx 2hrs) and after that the mouse will be over sensitive for warcraft 3 and serious sam 2 where the mouse will move drastically. means that in a slightest of move of the mouse will point excessively in all directions. means that if u tried to look up in serious sam 2 the mouse will immediately take your views to the sky or the ground or tried to move mouse in warcraft 3 it takes you to the most upper, lower, right or left of the map.
for cs after some time it will become either too fast or too slow. geez. can someone help me on solving this problem?is anyone out there facing the same problem? is there any solution besides than have to reformat my lappy? any suggestions or advice is appreciated. thanx.

p/s: this is my second time using this model. buy at different sellers and set up by different people and yet still the same problem. Help. icon_question.gif

I need advice here,

When turn ON my Aspire 4520 screen is totally blank but when I connected to ext monitor it show my windows desktop (in ext monitor).

I think problem with my aspire lcd screen. I read at service manual and I do what they suggest to reset to system default at the bios.

After save bios to system default, disconnect ext monitor and reboot, the display come back in my aspire screen as normal. But when I totally shut down and turn off the system the display disappear again.

I already doing above step 2 -3 times and the result still same.

Any suggestion what to do next

-- It didn't.

Now, was anyone able to install the AHCI drivers? hmm.gif
I tried with Nvidia Drivers v10.3.0.23 but the inf had no entry for the hardware IDs:

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0560&CC_0101
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0550&CC_0101

both of these are detectable as Standard Dual Channel IDEs when using the IDE option from BIOS.

Thus, any method I can find through googling didn't help i.e. the 'Have disk methods (add new hardware, update primary IDE drivers)' & slipstreaming too.
I tried modifying the inf to add those hardware IDs but then I get BSODs & Reboots.

The HD is Toshiba MK1637GSX (has SATA support)
The DVD is HL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GSA-T20N_WP03 (Not sure).

Could anyone shed some light on what's going on? unsure.gif
