Are you using Windows XP?

XP can only show 3GB but dont worry you still have that 1 gb of RAM still working in your system.

If you wanna maximize your 4 GB, try using Vista

you can download various version of geforce driver at LaptopVideo2Go and for tweaked hi-performance driver,on it's homepage click forum,then select Dox's Customized Forceware Releases.this driver is really tweaked for performance with slight loss of image quality which including shader quality (as you all might know 7000m is quite weak for handling shader model 2 and above)

Using a 32-bit OS (Vista/XP) will only shows an amout of 3-3.5GB of RAM..this is because the 32-bit system only can show a max of 3GB of RAM but still the 4GB RAM can still be utilize in various ways by the laptop.

If you want to fully utilize a maximun of 4GB RAM and above, you might considering migrating to 64-bit OS...can try tha Win 7 RC 64-bit version to whether your system is compatible enough for a 64-bit system (here you'll see an amount of 4GB of RAM that you installed)

Hi all, Ive bought these lappy year ago. As it seems like it is not stable runnin XP SP2 with drivers provided (system will reboot almost every 2 or 3 times when about to logon to windows, before it went normal, then crashed windows system itself few time and i've endup format my system about 3 times since it happen), then i installed it with latest drivers: 15.24_nforce_winxp32_international_whql(for mboard) and 179.48_notebook_winxp_32bit_beta(for vga) both from nVIDIA.
the problem solved but DVD-Super Multi DL gone in My Computer, not even shown in Hardware List. Is that defect of my burner or something? Like i should update my BIOS? Help from sifu sifu and otai otai are much much appreciated

i've also tried an old one: 14.10_nforce_630a_winxp_english_whql and Forceware_165.01_XP_English but ya know..

if i want 4GB then can i use two KINGSTON 800MHZ (2GB)?
coz i read on the manual of this lappy, its support up to 4GB but using the RAM that we required to buy from ACER(i forgot the name jor)

i hv been using aspire 4520 since two years ago..but now only i found out...i dont kno how to switch on the infrared..
So, is it directly i can switch it on in my laptop, or i need to download some other software to enable it.

AFAIK, there is no bluetooth.
And there's no infrared too. That black thing is a remote reciever.
It's just part of the design but it's not on this model.

nope that's an infrared transmitter. The remote receiver uses infrared too. But i dunno why Acer disabled this infrared in the bios. Thus users will not be able to enable of view the infrared details.
