I don't recommend IBKR to for s-reits. You are better off with fsm as s-reits will always ask for money.

Rights issue on fsm is easier than IBKR. IBKR should be for stuff that don't ask for rights.

No experience with rights on moomoo.

Ibkr is cheap. Check again the price.

I just checked again. Actually I want to buy not only S-Reits, but also banks and other individual stocks like Sheng Siong. So looking for a broker that can hold for long term.

For FSM, I think it is the most expensive for any SGX stocks. Minimum commission: SGD 8.80 per transaction
For IBKR, it is the second expensive after FSM, with a minimum of SGD 2.50 per transaction

Reference https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CmC...dit?gid=0#gid=0

For rights issues on Moomoo, they will generally send you an email or notification to inform you that you have corporate actions to take. I just recently received notification from the recent FCT announcement to acquire the South Wing of Northpoint City

I don't buy sreits anymore. Also I don't trust moomoo or tiger even though they have license in Singapore.

Yes. Fsm is expensive I won't deny that. I used to use that when I was holding sreits before tiger and moomoo comes along. At the end of day use what you are comfortable with.

Parent futu is Chinese based. Chinese company needs to obey emperor xi even if they got license outside of china. Good example is tiktok. Chinese govt said cannot sell, hence byte dance cannot sell tiktok.

ibkr did alert me for the J69U rights issue. Filled up the form and they deducted the monies from SGD pool. No issues. Only problem that I see is the odd lots which will also.happen to all brokers.

watermineral use Wise only as a last resort. refer to screenshot below where i compared sunwaymoney to send to SG banks. if u really need to use wise, cheapest is to convert to EUR, and reconvert to USD inside IBKR after u sent EUR to IBKR.
*
hi sifu, question, can i use sunway money to fund IBKR in USD?

watermineral sunway money has to send USD overseas to IBKR (expensive). just use sunway money to send SGD to IBKR (your SG bank acct, then transfer to citibank sg acct)

if you use Wise, you surrender your MYR to Wise MY, and Wise USA gives u USD. then it'll be a domestic USA transfer to IBKR

never mind ignore what i said. you have USA bank account to receive USD or not? sunwaymoney cannot send USD direct to IBKR. if really need to use USD, just use Wise

I tried to buy cash secured Put in IBKR option. But it said "You are not able to submit this order because you do not have trading permission for this options strategy"

But my Option levels is already lv2.
Any idea why?

You don't have permission to trade options. You can buy data for options but if you don't have permission it's useless.

You need to enable it. Change your portfolio type to speculative and make sure to add few years of options training.

I assume you mean IBKR? Of course IBKR is superior to moomoo in every way.

It's cheaper than moomoo. It have low forex conversion exchange rate. It have multiple market access. The parent company is not a Chinese company.

Buy $BIL watermineral. The 30% tax will be refunded next year Feb
QUOTE(TOS @ Feb 13 2024, 05:30 PM)
With the refund, my BIL IRR now stands at 4.80%, pretty close to short-term US T-bill rates, albeit the rate can be better if they refund sooner, but definitely better than the old "sell before ex-date then buy on ex-date" strategy... tongue.gif
