Just wondering, after conversion to MYR, am I able to transfer the MYR to other local bank account just like the  usual DuitNow transfer?

Wise will charge you RM1.91 for Malaysia bank transfer

If other currencies like SGD to sg bank acct, it'll be free

A cynical, if reasonable view, is that the big alternative asset managers have bled traditional institutional channels dry. Therefore, the only way for those firms to justify the asset growth that underpins their huge valuations — the likes of Blackstone, KKR and Apollo have equity values of at least $100bn — is to tap the massive individual investor market.

video on how to buy $SPYL and not get charged Swiss clearing fees
buy via recurring investment, or force it to route $SPYL to LSE. go to 6:40 for the chart. ignore the extra fees in his chart as IBKR sg has to pay GST to sg govt
QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Mar 12 2024, 08:39 AM)
tested LSE fares by buying
  • 1st batch manually @ $xxx.00
Was charged $1.91, so tallies with my excel calculations (commission + exchange fees + clearing fees)
  • 2nd batch via RSP @ same price
Only charged $1.70, so I guess exchange and clearing weren't charged
both same ETF

For BIL, SGOV (and their equivalent) investors:

Be careful not to buy the wrong ETF...

Oh, and February is coming... for IBKR users, your T-bill ETF(s) distribution WHT are about to be reversed biggrin.gif

I was wondering why do you have that. No, I'm not holding BIL, I have ZROZ instead. For short duration holding, I use BOXX, which does not have any distribution so far.

QUOTE(diffyhelman2 @ Mar 7 2024, 12:52 AM)
I went with BIL. but take note, after researching more, if you do not want to have to wait for your WHT to refund (up to one year opportunity cost), the next best thing seems to be the BOXX non dividend distributing T bill ETF.

In the WSJ link above, I made a stunning discovery. https://www.wsj.com/finance/investing/your-...share_permalink

QUOTE
The Alpha Architect 1-3 Month Box ETF, or BOXX, for example, tries to match or surpass T-bill returns with options so as not to trigger taxable distributions. Still, it was forced to do one last year under counsel from its legal advisers.

So, Boxx will still pay distribution. IRS is the big guy, you don't wanna run afoul of them...

Better stick to BIL/SGOV...

watermineral min $0.01 means it can be more. I was charged $0.35 for 0.4162 of NVDA. even if u decide to buy 0.01 of NVDA, that's $1.081 worth of shares. being charged $0.01 for $1.081 of shares is 1%

user posted image

for LSE stocks it's min $1.70-1.91. CSPX is LSE

watermineral estimates are not accurate, to get accurate fees you have to generate the daily statement PDF file the day after.

We use IBKR bcos it's cheap, other brokers are more comprehensive

The main issue is we have a USA stocks discussion thread and no non-US stocks discussion thread and IBKR is used mostly by people who buy non-US. non-Malaysian (e.g. European, Japanese) shares, so I posted them here. But of course, if you don't want any of these to appear here, I can remove them.

To be fair, IBKR is geared towards trading, so people who follow this thread may want to follow non-US shares news.

And lastly, the thread title says IBKR users are welcomed, and no specific instructions state that this thread is solely for IBKR discussions only. TS moosset is no longer around, too bad.

No issues with news. I’m just curious because I was notified, clicked and was surprised that it ended up being news related, not IBKR platform related discussion. I can unsubscribed, no problem.
