QUOTE(m1rot1c @ Mar 26 2020, 08:07 AM) i think the crucial information is pretty much scattered, for anyone who is wondering on how to fund your ibkr account, this post here seems to have a proper guide to do so Hi, thank for you info. In the link he was using Instarem, i have chat with Instarem customer service, they dont deposit into brokerage account. Can anyone help to verify this? I have checked, Charles Schwab have account in Singapore too, wonder if possible to skip local account such as CIMB fast saver by using Instarem.

QUOTE(andrewlimkn @ Mar 25 2020, 10:50 PM) Those that are under TS Global, how much commission have they been charging you for US stock trades? I think i always got charged USD1 (rather than the min $1.5 stated in their website) I wondered the same but never got an answer from IBKR and TSG. I'm also interested in Charles Schwab. Let me know if you manage to open an account there. Disregarding what the CS said, it worked for me to deposit EUR, SGD and HKD to IBKR. Same with banks' and insurance companies' CS, you can only trust them 50% of the time. A lot of them MCC.

They have commission free ETFs incl. IVV, I think. I remember I did but their commission free ETFs are their version of VOO, SPY those. Not mistaken, the expense ratios are higher than VOO, SPY and Ireland equivalent. If I recall correctly they don't have a QQQ commission free ETF, so I didn't sign up under them.

Just to share my experience.
I submit my application to IB on Monday and got the approval on Friday. I use both Transferwise and instarem to transfer HKD direct to IB, transfer wise slightly more expensive by few RM but reached IB account faster by hours. both transfer executed in the afternoon and reached IB next day evening.
commission 1. E-Micro DJI future - US$1.9 round-trip which is quite cheap ( vs $12 Malaysia broker) 2. Option - $0.75/trade 3. share - $0.005 per share and minimum is $1.00
Margin 1. E-Micro DJI - US$ 2,600 ( which is very high) 2. Option - 100% equivalent to your position 3. share - about 3X the position
hope the above help and happy trading everyone

QUOTE(zenquix @ Mar 26 2020, 11:19 PM) they accept NRIC now or you used passport? just another tip. I remember after submission of proof of ID next IB will ask you for proof of address. I submitted a bank statement for that but was thinking I should have used the same address on my IC. Maybe it will save me the hassle to submit the bank statement. MAYBE

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Mar 27 2020, 12:55 AM) Of course no. Dont be ridiculous. ok, cause it would make it hard to withdraw the money unless i want kena the high bank charges. guess i would need to open an sg account for this.
