What trouble?
Send money to SG using click of mouse button. Money appear like 30-2h later. Rate is as good as money changer.
Form there do a IBFT like transfer into IB. Money appears like in 10-20minutrs if office hours. Then convert SGD at spot rate (real freaking exchange rate) at USD2/exchange.
My overseas commission is basically USD1.xx-2.xx/transaction.
My money is one way ticket.he doesn't get converted to RM. It stays as foreign currency.

Can if you are using margin. Otherwise topup first then only can buy.

Of course I have thought about it. Hence eI only transferred money into IB when there are things to buy. Otherwise keep in high yield account in SG or MMF. Of course SG account give like 1.xx% interest. Can't compare with Malaysian interest. But you can't compare depreciation of RM vs SGD too.

Yes but very little and depends on the currency. Currency like EUR, you pay interest instead because negative interest rate.

Yes, depending on the amount, but these days the interests on idle cash balance has become a lucrative source of profit for brokers, so forget about earning them.

As for negative interest rates, don't worry unless you hold too much euros or Swiss Franc, if you have less than 50k CHF or 50k EUR, you won't earn anything nor be charged any interest. I can confirm my CHF has not been deducted of any interests. (I have less than 100 CHF left in IB since my last Swiss stock purchase, it has remained so since.)

Guys , anybody recently just open CIMB SG?

For the SGD1,000. The banker from SG called me and say must transfer via their direct transfer from cimb clicks and not WISE or other 3rd party platform..

Can i just transfer like a few ringgit then transfer SGD1,000 from WISE?

Their rates so much difference from WISE

Cimb: 3.118
Wise: 3.085 (after Fees)

That is in fact what I did. I even funded my CIMB SG account before I could access its internet banking haha. They just called me (as part of the verification process) to say please transfer something like 1sgd via CIMB MY.
Note: look at final amount you get, not the transfer rate, because then you would also take account of the transaction fee.

Nice, maybe I would do that and pray that the banker doesn't call to scold me haha...

Yeah I was talking about the final amount. For 1000SGD
CIMB FAST was: 3118
While WISE is : 3085+

That's 2 Starbucks difference 🤭

Currently the world interest rate is zero. So for now zero interest. Expect interest to come back once central banks around the world start hiking interest rate.

Cash dividends will be credited in cash to your account, so you will see your cash balance in that currency (in which your dividends are paid) will increase. So just withdraw the cash (i.e. the dividend).

Stock dividends on the other hand will be credited in to your account holdings, so you get more shares. In order to "withdraw", you just sell your shares to get the "cash", then withdraw the cash like above.

Link to apps for those that are lazy: https://globaltrader.interactivebrokers.com/en/home.php

Seems like they are really shotgunning their approach of new investor. IBKR Impact just came out within the last 6 months.

Edit: tried it, just recoloured Impact, still absolutely terrible, can't see leverage ratio and stock dont even have axis labelled.
