I think HUashit paid alot to sponsor video and ask reviewer to give positive review then all those ah beng believe and go buy then die die said cam is very good but in real life not that special. and ya the battery thing is because they off or put a lot of apps to sleep thus can make the battery stay longer.. haha.. ya one more obvious issue is the machine itself is not tht powerful as you will notice it is very weak in video recording as it need powerful device to record a very good video..

I think probably it depends on who you talk to and which age group. Huawei phone can be easily doubled as a camera, which happened to be a phone, and others. If you think like that, suddenly it opened up a huge possibility. You see, the issue of smartphone nowadays is the ability to combine lots of functions. I know many ppl knows that but somehow forgotten the fact that when iphone was introduced, Steve jobs specifically mentioned that he has camera, phone and internet devices combined as one.

The problem with engineering innovation is that, this Mate 30Pro can easily replace a mobile Micro four third camera easily. What about zoom you may say? Well I suppose there are some photographer, like me, who do not mind a solid 35mm or 28mm camera for street photography, no zoom. Zoom lens breaks image quality. With better and better sensor on camera phone nowadays, suddenly the border between a phone and a dedicated small camera becomes hazy.

I am planning my trip end of the year. Before that I took my Nokia Pureview 808 (42Mpix sensor) to Japan, and I was really happy with the results. Its mobile, chargable, and really good quality at the time. Now with huawei, not only it has great lens, it has better sensor and a host of other photography features too, namely timelapse, possibility of astrophotography (milky way snap). Then it has lots of memory (256GB) for storage, linkable to internet for uploads, and it comes with maps, messageing, wait, it also makes calls!

All for RM3800. Sony RTS100 cost about RM5000 brand new.

When we put things into perspective this way, suddenly certain things becomes a bargain.

If I can install outlook ( I doubt it, its also part of the black listing right?) to access gmail, and another don't know what for youtube. I think that would be it. I don't move around that much, so I would have done complex gmail, or google drive stuff on desktop. Mobile phone is just for, 'mobile' activities, which is very limited in the first place.

Another issue is for the financial trader alike: Metatrader apps, super important for financial traders. And no one talked about that.

Nah, no phones can replace m43 as yet. If you can replace a E-M5 / E-M10 with a phone, it means your severely underusing your camera. No photographer worth their salt would say a mobile phone can replace camera easily. If your definition of street photography is restricted to taking posed pictures or casual shots, then a phone is enough. But there are so much that cannot be achieved by a phone.

Long exposure shots, candid street photography (this is the real street photography), fast moving objects, freezing motion from a moving car and moving subjects at night are all very difficult to perform with a phone. Basically anything other than a static subject in a static scene may pose problems for a phone. The extent depends on light availability.

There are areas where phones are better, such as HDR, but those are far and few in between. Phones are great, but they can't beat a m43 yet. That's not even considering the many excellent lens available.
