i plan to get a mate 30 pro during 8.8 ( if manage to get 1) since it offer for rm2299.

i am mate 20 user currently and i have compare at gsm arena :

can I confirm with you all that:

1. is mate 30 pro comes with sterea speaker ( gsmarema didnt stated there) & dobly atmos ?
2. How is the speaker sound compare to mate 20 / samsung s20+
3. I know cannot support youtube apps , how about Spotify?

I’m also eyeing one on 8/8 coz it’s cheap, hahaha...

Been doing some reading, so here’s what I found. It doesn’t have stereo speakers, only a single firing speaker at the bottom - but GSMArena rated the loudness and quality of the speaker to be very good. I guess part of the reason it doesn’t have stereo speakers is coz it doesn’t have a traditional earpiece - it uses the screen as an earpiece, I’m curious how that would work too

Nope... No preinstalled screen protector. You have to buy seperately. Spotify I would have to check back later.

Waiting for the Nord and Note to launch this week before making up my mind

Nord should be out ...with that kind of pricing. Note would be exynos... So left Mate 30 Pro only.

8.8 price is tempting but does the hassle worth it? currently using mate 20 pro.

I'm using the P40 actually. Initially wanted to go for Mate 30 Pro 5G, but then the price was too steep at that time, so went for P40 instead cuz urgently need a new phone. Too bad didn't know they would have a good deal at this time.

If you don't rely on Google services a lot, you will get used to it after some time, just be sure to check and think properly (maybe also try it at stores first) before pulling the trigger.

Good luck, but make sure to check and test properly before pulling the trigger, experience will be a little different compared to a usual Android phone.

1. Mate 30 Pro only has one mono speaker
2. S20+ speaker is better than the Mate 30 speaker (according to gsmarena)
3. Spotify can be installed using Petal Search, works completely fine, subscription also works fine too.

Yeah, the retail price of the M30 Pro would be too steep for me to pay for the experience of living without GMS (or at least attempt to) but 2299 is very tempting indeed. Will go try a demo set first as you suggested. To be honest, I've not walked into a Huawei store since they stopped putting GMS in their phones!

hopefully they got enough stock. im also eyeing on one, but having same thinking as you guys. im heavily dependent on google. the 1 time installation GMS im fine, i afraid every few weeks or months need to reinstall and redo the apk only.

I'm still weighing the pros and cons, hehe. Will drop by a Huawei store to see if I can fiddle around with a demo set before this weekend before deciding
