and if its a bunch of ah beng's who are employed

their standard reply is "not our fault as US ban us from doing business with Android"

unker/aunties = "then how?"

ah beng staff = "sir/madam, again, its not our fault so there is nothing we can do"

You can use the 4.2k phone for 2G calls mar. Can still surf using browser. Can use it as an music player. Or use it as a paper weight. whistling.gif

haha thought Digi improved..such a risk when you're on the move in town.

I was a Digi subscriber many years ago cause it was cheap, but coverage was terrible and couldn't wait to get out my contract.

Now my family member also suffering the same..MNPed in to try Digi due to price and wants to port out again due to bad coverage just after a few months.. doh.gif
*
Digi is superb here for me, in the Klang Valley. I would say its comparable to Maxis and definitely better than Celcom and the rest. 4G coverage is very good now too.

Well I'm in KV too. Guess it's all up to personal experience lol.

Ported from Digi to Celcom and never looked back for more than 5 years now.. In certain areas I frequent, I get better speeds than Maxis.

Anyways, back to Mate30 Pro.
*
No problem. Still contemplating whether to get the Mate30 Pro or not. Still following this thread to see if it is still viable to buy now. sweat.gif

In my area, Digi also on top in term of speed & coverage.

BTW, the pre-order freebies only for the first 250 customer, but even without it the price is so cheap to begin with
*
Sorry didn't follow.... what are the pre-order freebies?

Back casing, car wireless chargerc, 1 year additional warranty & 6 months screen replacement warranty.

Thanks.

Judging by the replies in this thread, I guess many still don't dare to take the plunge.

Looking at this thread and Singapore forums, many are opting for the better Mate 30 Pro against the cheaper Mate 30.

Aiya, so lucky. Congrats to you. I try to do walk in buy in Digi store on 15th, only to be disappointed when they said no stock. They will only re-launch on 20th.

Btw, please do some review. I'm now using Mate 20 Pro updated to EMUI 10 (Android Q) & the experience is so satisfying. I can imagine using Mate 30 Pro will be more exciting.

And if you have time, can you please check whether all these app working fine:
1. RHB mobile banking
2. Maybank 2u
3. Hong Leong Connect
4. EPF i-akaun
5. CIMB Clicks

Thanks in advance
*
Mine is corporate/ business account bro. That is why could get it earlier. The Digi staff told me earlier that they are reserving PO units for business line customers first. The courier from Digi told me the same and that they will start shipping other units after 20/11.

Installing GMS now. Will update you later.

GMS works like a charm. A 10 mins installation and its done. Works like a charm. Google playstore is installed on the phone and you can have access to all the apps you need.

Banking apps are working fine.

Installed myself. Not rocket science. biggrin.gif

It's not too hard seriously. There are proper step by step guides if you are not confident.

Everything's working fine? Sync, contact, etc?
*
Yes. Running it already. Sync and contact was done through Huawei's PhoneClone App. No issues with that.

QUOTE(Mike3 @ Nov 19 2019, 12:55 PM)
With gms most app should be able to use right? Unless those with safety net reuqirements.

Anyway alot banking app is available in huawei app store already
*
Yes, a lot of apps as well as banking apps are already available for download on Huawei's own app store or rather Huawei App Gallery.

QUOTE(danieltan @ Nov 19 2019, 01:01 PM)
Is this called good news?

I hope they can have gms sooner. I will definitely buy for Christmas present
*
It was here since early Oct or much earlier than that ..... IINM.

The Pro sold out almost everywhere compared to the Mate 30. Guess many people preferred the Pro

Hehe why dump us over the other thread and join the dark side  devil.gif  devil.gif  devil.gif .

anyway im not worry about malaysian app.
huawei give so much incentive for developers should be no issue
using my old huawei phone i able to check what is available and what is not.

anyway share your experiences with netflix?
and also games that are linked to google play. are they ok? i mean are u able to transfer to old saved data to the new phone
*
Never dump bro.... my main driver will always be a Oneplus. I'm just very curious about this phone after hearing so many good reviews about it. So I thought want to try it out for myself. Seems like android 10 on EMUI is not bad too. The camera is really superb, especially the Zoom part. The Double tap the side of the phone to lower or increase the volume is really something I like about the phone (there is no volume +-) at the side of the phone.

QUOTE(Arool @ Nov 19 2019, 02:06 PM)
Thanks for your time bro. I'm just curious/afraid if they're tied to safety net restriction as some of Malaysia's banking app not in the Huawei App Store as this moment. Can't wait to pull my trigger at Digi tomorrow. Hope courier service won't create any stupid problem.
*
No problem. I have tried some banking apps and they work fine.

Digi have their own courier service. Quite efficient I would say. call me in the late morning and phone arrive late evening. Make sure the pre-order goodies are still available.... thumbsup.gif

I was originally eyeing on this phone before the note, camera and the double tap to change volume is a quite nice but the google ban is the one that stop me from buying this. hopefully they can settle it soon
*
Same here. But after trying it out for myself, I'm getting to really like the phone. With GMS, the phone can download and update apps like usual. So I don't see any issues with it. nod.gif

Banyak org dari thread sebelah ini  biggrin.gif
im like you. was into this phone till GMS
*
Erm... didn't notice any accidental touches, but give me some time to go over the phone. Just got it yesterday.

QUOTE(Arool @ Nov 19 2019, 04:43 PM)
Haha, hopefully Sarawak's Digi courier service are as efficient as peninsular.

Btw, regarding the free gift, Digi's customer service agent told me that walk in customer will still get the back case & car wireless charger, which for me is very good.
*
Well they did mention the pre order gifts are only for the first 250 customers. I'm sure if you go tomorrow it will still be available. Good luck! thumbsup.gif

Installing BlueO TG. Will be the Guinea pig to try this. Technician says this phone is a challenge to install TG because of its overly curved screen.

My dream is 5000mAh bro, but above 4000 is acceptable. I’m not a big fan of EMUI though, what more without GMS. I’m a little on the fence on this one.
Yes, My last Huawei was a P20 Pro. Battery life marginally better than Samsungs but heard the latest ones are even better.
Still not yet arrive, bro. Stuck at Poslambat...

Wah..why so long, go collect yourself bro...

That one is pre-order gift. What I mentioned is for walk in customer, which is standard Huawei offering right now. But from Huawei official site, only wireless car charger & 1 year extended warranty being stated, I'm not sure if Digi add up another free gift in the package. Either way, wireless car charger is good enough for me.
*
Oh..no more pre-order already? the other free gift included is an ori Huawei backcover. Nice backcover but if offers limited protection because the sides are not covered. Will share some pics later. I also bought another transparent TPU backcover for the phone.
