QUOTE(starship1 @ Sep 19 2019, 08:13 PM) This is now China's and Huawei's "Sputnik moment ". Moment of truth has arrived. Gosh, you’re watching it Wow. Incredible battery size 4500 mAh 5G and six color to choose from. Nice colors. His favourite phrase “You can see that” This post has been edited by attw: Sep 19 2019, 08:25 PM |

RIP, Playstore
Huawei Mobile Services and AppGallery Huawei Mobile Services are fully open source and will provide the basic functionality that was handled by Google Play Services so far. The company has created a $1 billion investment fund to support and grow the project. Users will be able to download software from Huawei's AppGallery, which already has 390 million monthly active users and served 180 billion downloads last year. I think it’ll be hard for the Mate 30 series to be successful outside of China, but I could be wrong. |

QUOTE(blackmarket @ Sep 21 2019, 08:02 AM) I believe uncle benny has purchased and review almost all mate series since years ago and I remember mate series is one of the earliest phone to have 4000mah battery and reverse wired charging during iphone 5/6era. Having used Samsung/huawei/apple products, Huawei completely changed my perception towards made in China product. Its a loss for the world of tech If huawei is no longer in smartphone market. Without strong competitor like huawei I can only imagine how boring other smart phone would gets. Agreed. Competition pushes everyone to be better. Good for us consumers.Anyway, the CEO is pretty optimistic about the M30 sales https://m.gsmarena.com/huawei_ceo_confident...-news-39282.php This post has been edited by attw: Sep 21 2019, 11:20 AM |

QUOTE(Baconateer @ Sep 23 2019, 04:48 PM) This is true, Got many katak bawah tempurung in Malaysia that are unaware of the ban, and there are some who know a little about it but don’t know the implications. Either way, you can see Huawei already toned down the launch - especially locally. I remember for the Mate 20 series the pre-order here happened almost immediately after the launch announcement. |

QUOTE(leongsem @ Sep 24 2019, 01:38 PM) Hehe, it’s not that, it’s how I use my Android phones. I don’t usually keep them for long, will sell them off when I’m done trying, and Huawei phones a bit harder to resell at the moment, unless you’re prepared to cut your losses. |

QUOTE(sukhoi35mk @ Sep 30 2019, 12:06 PM) how about android OS/Security patches? i doubt Huawei can "officially" helping its users with APK files and i dont really trust downloading the APK files from unknown and verified source.... I think if one cares about OS and security patches, then probably best to avoid the M30 series for now.. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Sep 30 2019, 04:42 PM) Potential buyers of this phone should realize you will never get a 100% Google experience Trump has bigger things to worry about right now so playing nice with China might be one strategy he could try to divert the attention away from his possible impeachment So compromises are needed Stay away if you are not willing to compromise Seriously I doubt HW will remain ban for long. They are just too big for US Google and other suppliers to ignore. Pressure will be on Trump to give up trying?? QUOTE(clement5949 @ Oct 2 2019, 09:02 AM) Bro, renew your maxis contract and get an iPhone 11 Pro Max instead, hehe... |

“But there's no escaping the fact that with no Play Store on board and only partial Google app functionality, the Mate 30 Pro can't be recommended for anyone outside of China. In fact, actively avoiding it would be the only sensible advice. The moment Google gets the license to provide products and services to Huawei will be the moment this phone will become a true all-rounder. And you should run to the nearest store and get one - but only then. Until then, stick to the other options, there are plenty.”

QUOTE(squareballs @ Oct 3 2019, 10:50 AM) Yeah, the Note 10+ is a better buy at that price And even the free gifts got terms and conditions: - “As part of its Exclusive Ownership Campaign, loyal Huawei Mate series owners will not only be among the first to own the new Mate 30 Pro in Malaysia but they will also get exclusive gifts worth RM1,155. This includes a Huawei Wireless in-car SuperCharge charger, DJI Osmo Mobile 3, Huawei back casing and Huawei Care that provides 1 year extended warranty and 6 months screen crack protection. Huawei Mate series users that owned two Huawei Mate series devices will be eligible for the offer.” Seems they just want to persuade their current base to upgrade and not attract new users? Or are they already expecting new users to stay away? Anyway, like you said bro, good luck to them. This post has been edited by attw: Oct 3 2019, 12:00 PM |
