No Cellular Apple Watch 5 again for Malaysia. Suck!

Apple seems to be turning a deafening ears on their fans in Malaysia. We want LTE Apple Watch and also Apple Pay here.
I’m already using esim on my XR, so I’m sure Apple Watch LTE can be easily supported here!

Unfortunately Apple won't launch Apple Watch Cellular until local carriers can support eSIM for Apple Watch according to their specifications. :/ The fault lies more on carrier's side, because their network stack is not up to it.

If that is so, carriers really have poor priority of choices.
They would rather support Huawei Watch (how many Huawei watch vs Apple Watch out there in the wild)

Hi, I would like to get an Apple Watch in SG probably cellular+GPS version. I read through the thread and the cellular not supported by local carriers but I am wondering whether I can still use all other functions (like ECG, pairing with iPhone, receive messages from iPhone, tracking, heart tracking) in the Apple Watch (Cellular+GPS version) except the cellular? Thanks

Thanks. Meaning if I buy from SG Titanium version Cellular+GPS, I can still use all the functions except things related to cellular + the EC?

I heard if I change the region to SG, then I can use the ECG?

Please confirm. Thanks.

Yes, Apple should at least gives it a try here....

By the way, u can use the watch in MY without cellular. Same as u, I just want the SS finished. For me it is because of the sapphire crystal scratch proof glass. My Series 0 doesn't have a single scratch till today.  thumbsup.gif

Which mean the new Noise feature will not be available for Malaysia since we don't have cellular version?

That I am not sure. But if it is not a region specific and no need cellular, where it can based on the connection with ur phone. It should be available.

Yes. even GPS only has mic. My wife has Series 4, she can use the Walkie-Talkie function and Siri is pretty responsive.

Although our model here does have mic, but the noise app only Tim Cook will know whether they will open to MY or not.

so you are saying even with Mic, there're still possibilities that features such as the noise app may not be available? Oh man.. what a bummer. Now need to wait for WatchOS 6 released to find out.

Yes. Just like the ECG. The hardware is definitely there in the Series 4, but we are not getting the function in MY. We will only know when it is launch in MY.
