As a Cube C30 user, I'd say it's well built. It matches other well known brands i.e. Sony etc. EDIT: (To be exact, the Sony B series, and some philips and samsung DAP. Just a feel I get from using them and not some scientific experiment or from reviews etc.)

As for how long it will last, I've just got one myself, only time will tell. I believe ClieOS have the C30 since November 2010, you can ask him yourself about its current condition. In his review/impression, he said that the player is of good build quality, and I believe he would have say something about the quality at the Cube C30's fan club in his recent posts if it's not good.. Just my 2 cents.

As for the reputation of the company itself, I'm too lazy too google around and since I'm happy with my C30, I have no motivation to do so. tongue.gif

In terms of sound q which three of these is better?

I've had the Fuze+ and never listened to the other 2. Fuze+ if I could recall correctly was neutral but on the warm side, good pair with my PL50 and DDM but improved with amp.

I don't know about the e2. It's comparable to the clip+. Don't have a memory slot though(e2), and even the clip+ has a tiny screen.

But SQ wise, I guess you can't go wrong with either the e2 or the Fuze+. E2 has things like BBE though, and I have listened to what BBE can do with the Cube C30 and it's fun to turn on. thumbup.gif So what do you want, a player with BBE or a player with memory expandability and longer battery life?

sony walkman s series is the best in the world. no need to choose any other brand. somemore sony is made in Japan, very well built and reputedly can last 20-30 years. made in china stuff... buy today tomolo it will rosak.

sorry to say but Sony actually sounds dull (tried several diff. series b4), it's marketed more towards the mass.

Clip+ should be not bad. dunno much about E2.

but u can consider Cube c30.

IMO, in terms of SQ, Cube C30 with BBE off = HIppo Gumstick > Clip+ > sony

in terms of battery, Sony > cube c30 > Clip+ > gumstick

in terms of memory expandability, E2 is not expandable.

No offense, I believe in Sony's quality(at least for most items), but I think you're exaggerating too much.

20-30 years? 1 thing for sure, the battery will not last that long. My Sony handphones won't go more than 2 years(at best) before it start giving me problems. (Hey, it's a Sony, so I think it's a fair comparison. We're talking about Japanese made products' quality right? whistling.gif)

Besides, ain't C30 a made in china stuff? I expect it to last. At least I've used it for last 2 weeks still no rosak. tongue.gif

P/s: I thought you like china made stuff. Cube C30. rclxms.gif

Also your iPod Touch example up there. hmm.gif

EDIT: Jokes aside, I didn't see a hint of trying to claim Sony is superior from vincent_on9's post. I thought he was seriously comparing in terms of SQ. Which was why I thought you were exaggerating tongue.gif

i know c30 is best bang for the bucks...if not for the design i would definitely take it (not to say ugly, just personal preference). Fine i know mp3 player emphasizes on sound quality, usability and such. However personal taste and preference also come in right. Anyway i took cowon e2, it is about the same price with fuze+, which has a 2.4 inch screen and expandable memory and much more features.. longer battery playback hours..but the simpler the better for me. rclxms.gif

It's depend on what's your budget. I would say that C30 is worth as the design not bad either. Currently I'm using it to burn-in my headphone. The battery really last long.

Cheap with a big screen, 720p video support and microSD slot and dual Wolfson DAC, supposedly good sound quality and affordable. However......

Buggy firmware, poor battery life, compatibility issues with many operating system(XP seems to work best...not SP3 though), and did I mention buggy firmware?

Actually I haven't bought it(thank god). I did my research before I made the purchase, and the best is in forums where many actually seek help regarding its various issues, mainly regarding connectivity to their PC and firmware stability. biggrin.gif

Shigzeo made a mention about the Teclast and some of it's issues here in the forums. I'll post what he wrote if I can find it.

Edit: Found it, quoted from the 'Music format' thread

QUOTE(shigzeo @ Mar 21 2011, 10:38 PM)
The Teclast is a fine sounding player, but it is a disaster (worse than the Fuze) for navigation, playback, ID3, format support, stability, power management and a host of other issues. Overall, It performs well (via line out), but it isn't worth the size, the navigation pain, the file format problems.

I am the sort of bloke that hearkens back to MD and CD. You pop a disk in and play it. No problems. Why today, ten years later, do I have to buy an 'audiophile' player only to have it fail to run anywhere near as nice as a CD player? Sound of the T51 is good: nice wide stereo image, good driving potential with lowΩ and highΩ headphones/earphones/mulit armature earphones; but you sacrifice so much usability. And overall, it hisses more than compatible players, lacks gapless and a host of other features.

And, despite driving very well, it hasn't anything special about its sound other than the stereo separation, which is only just a bit better than modern iPod touch. That was the last audiophile player I bothered with (though I still have the HiSound AMP3 Pro2 and the Hifiman 602).

I keep hoping that someday, an audiophile company will make a good-sounding player that actually works and isn't just worth it to be thrown on the rubbish heap when the 'next best audiophile thing' comes out making this one seem silly.

I own a Teclast T51. For its very affordable price of RM550 (someone is selling it here on LYN) and the SQ you are getting, I feel the T51 is a decent DAP. Of course you can't or rather shouldn't compare it to something twice it's price.
