For Cube C30, what is the largest Micro SD capacity it can support?
*
I think I've read somewhere saying that it's 16GB. Not sure though. Can anyone confirm this?

if you think the eq presets on the gummy sucks you should give a listen to the BBE on the Cube. It BLOWS the gummy out of the water!  rclxm9.gif
*
+1 on that. The preset EQ, even the user EQ sucks a lot. Instead of boosting the said frequency, it just decrease the others. At least that's the feel that I get. Pretty much can't be used. BBE on the other hand, drool.gif

p/s: I'm assuming that the preset & custom EQ on gumstick and on C30 is the same. If not, then I've no idea how well EQ on gumstick sounds. Never used it before. Also, if my assumption is correct, thank god for making me gave up the gumstick. tongue.gif Also thanks to beederbest for the bulk and intro to C30. icon_rolleyes.gif

I have compared the Gumstick and Fuze+.
Since Clip+ is basically a Fuze+ without a screen, and the C30 sounds exactly the same as the Gumstick(without BBE), it would be quite fair.

To be honest the Gumstick is more fun to listen to, while not deviate too much from reality so it still is natural.
*
Basically, you're saying:

Gumstick > Fuze+
Gumstick = C30
Fuze+ = Clip+
Therefore, C30 > Clip+

Did I get it right? Cuz I find your last sentence rather confusing as to which player Gumstick is more fun to.

As a Cube C30 user, I'd say it's well built. It matches other well known brands i.e. Sony etc. EDIT: (To be exact, the Sony B series, and some philips and samsung DAP. Just a feel I get from using them and not some scientific experiment or from reviews etc.)

As for how long it will last, I've just got one myself, only time will tell. I believe ClieOS have the C30 since November 2010, you can ask him yourself about its current condition. In his review/impression, he said that the player is of good build quality, and I believe he would have say something about the quality at the Cube C30's fan club in his recent posts if it's not good.. Just my 2 cents.

As for the reputation of the company itself, I'm too lazy too google around and since I'm happy with my C30, I have no motivation to do so. tongue.gif

sony walkman s series is the best in the world. no need to choose any other brand. somemore sony is made in Japan, very well built and reputedly can last 20-30 years. made in china stuff... buy today tomolo it will rosak.
*
No offense, I believe in Sony's quality(at least for most items), but I think you're exaggerating too much.

20-30 years? 1 thing for sure, the battery will not last that long. My Sony handphones won't go more than 2 years(at best) before it start giving me problems. (Hey, it's a Sony, so I think it's a fair comparison. We're talking about Japanese made products' quality right? whistling.gif)

Besides, ain't C30 a made in china stuff? I expect it to last. At least I've used it for last 2 weeks still no rosak. tongue.gif

P/s: I thought you like china made stuff. Cube C30. rclxms.gif

Also your iPod Touch example up there. hmm.gif

EDIT: Jokes aside, I didn't see a hint of trying to claim Sony is superior from vincent_on9's post. I thought he was seriously comparing in terms of SQ. Which was why I thought you were exaggerating tongue.gif

budget wise, since the SQ is considerably same,  c30 could be consider worthy enough, and it even got BBE and the F1 earphone wink.gif

QUOTE(Kyozen @ May 4 2011, 02:54 PM)
guys, im considering this few mp3 for gym and outdoor use,

1.Transcend MP330
2. Sony B series
3. Philips GoGear mix 4gb
4. Cube C30

which is the best in term of battery life, durability and sound quality?
*
All I can say is for C30 vs B series.
- C30 have better SQ than B Series. (B153/2F models and older. Never used the new B16X model.)
- Though on paper C30 and B Series have similar battery life, I personally experienced shorter battery life on B series. Note that Sony's 18 hours battery life is with what I'd say the best battery saving usage. More info here.
- I can't tell which is better when it comes to durability. It feels about the same, and both still lasts.

On a side note, for gym/active use, I think a player with a clip would serve better. At least in my experience they're. New B series comes with detachable clips btw.

p/s: I think Clip+ is another pmp to be considered. Never used them though..

Make sure you check out tunertoobe's and genericmav's suggestions! biggrin.gif . This site might help as well.

Also, I suggest you check Fischer Audio products as well.

P/S: I find this offer to be interesting, since you can grab it at a good price and have the choice to swap it with other models of the same series while the "You're Lucky" offer lasts. Go to the said thread to better understand about the offer..

Just throwing these out here. I couldn't find the RMAA tests for the Gumstick. Take the charts for what it is.

RMAA tests:
Clip/+ RMAA
Cowon E2 RMAA
Cube C30 (No BBE)
Cube C30 (BBE)

MP4 player = video + music player?? hmm.gif

AFAIK, C30 and C60 is pretty much the same, except for upgraded hardware & uSD removed.
QUOTE
Some of the spec:

Freescale / SigmaTel STMP3780 controller (C30 uses STMP3770)

Dual mono National Semiconductor rail-to-rail high output opamps (C30 use single Maxim opamp)

BBE supported

NO uSD support sad.gif

Source

p/s: If dual mono is a big thing, C60 should be significantly better than C30.

My real question was, can the C60 play movies? Or does it even support .mp4 format to be called a mp4 player?

Cuz as far as I got, it can't. Source

p/s: Agree w/ ya all. No uSD is a big turn off. The main reason why I didn't bother w/ C60. biggrin.gif
