S330's satelites clearer than Mx5021,the sound it produce will more ears pleasent, but if u wan heavy bass ,Mx5021 win.
i know u sure will ask is that S330's bass not good? biggrin.gif the answer is:
it is good enough for shaking ur room, but if u wan the thumping 'feel' ,MX5021 will better.
u decide which u wan biggrin.gif take S330 save u more than RM100.

dun ever get creative speakers. if must, just get the gigaworks series.
theyre bunch of problems and the sound isnt warm at all...
gigaworks is the best they have.

for 650 just get aego M or MX5021. L3800 design isnt really fantastic, but sound quality cannot go near MX5021 or AEGO M. try to listen yourself first though.

Ok I need some advice here,

I'm deciding whehter I should go for S330D (£80) or Aego M (£99). I did some research, I realise that Aego M doesn't have very good midrange, since the sole driver in the satelite have to drive both mid and high as it does not come with a dedicated tweeter. However I'm not sure how much better is the S330D in the mid range.

Since I'm in the UK, I have no chance to audition both of the speakers as most of these 'rare' speakers can only be purchased online. So I'll have to rely on you guys' expereince here to make a decision!

PS: I like the sound of MX5021, but I have to return it due to unbearable hissing sound!

hmmm... actually u cannot really compare S330D and Aego M. although S330D has excellent tweeters, u should ocmpare Aego M and S530D.

between these, it just depends on what kind of sounds u listen to. if u like MX5021 due to its bass, i'd say probably u'd like S530D more than S330D and Aego M. otherwise, S330D have a very sharp sound, as well as Aego M.

To be honest, I like MX5021 cause I think its bass is not boomy (even though many people think otherwise). Even when playing trance songs, you don't really feel the thumping effect like Logitech Z2300. I can't really check out the S530D cause they don't sell it over here in the UK.

Having said that, you think Aego M actually has a better midrange than S330D even though it doesn't have a dedicated midrange driver?

when i listened to Aego M. my first impression was not what ppl said. its bass is deep and wide. when played on low volume, its sound best. its bass is wide and better than MX5021, the clarity is superb, although i know S330D has 2 excellent tweeters. Aego M have wider bass than S330D, thats what i did not expect.

the weaknesses of Edifiers, is that, they sometimes doesn't really speak if u dun turn them abit loud. not all the time though. also, Edifier well known for tight bass and not "thumping" one like logitech. Although im being sarcastic (because i also like Edifier so much)

Let me tell u that, imo, the Edifiers that produce good bass are those who have treble controller (i.e. C3, S530D, R401, E3100 but S330D doesn't have this). Edifier speakers are well known for having good clarity, compared to competitors, but the best tweeter are used in S330D.

MX5021 is well known for its powerful bass. yes its not so thumping like those logitechs but it can be pop out loud, while i dun think aegos can be. If u dun like to listen at high volumes, i think, Aego M will suit you.
im not being bias, but i just feel that i like Aego M more than S330D, maybe because my ears like em more and the pricetag shows the fact.

Thanks for your input Nismo. After I did a bit more searching I found this:

http://www.rothaudio.co.uk/docs/products/audio_blob2.shtml

Originally retail for £120 (Aego's range), now dropped to only £50 since it's no longer in production (end of line products). People seems to say that it sounds as good as Aego, with only half the price.

Need rocemmendation here-

If i would like to change from 2.1 speaker to 5.1 speaker, which one is better? I'm more into movies and musics BTW...

Klipsch ProMedia GMX D-5.1 or Creative Gigaworks G5000 or Edifier S530D? Or is there any better 5.1 speaker at a reasonable price?
