aiks?!?! i no sifu la....haha just sharing what i know. smile.gif well if u trully want surround sound i guess its better to get a true 5.1 setup because virtual surround will depend alot on the room settings (furniture, room size, and most importantly seating position and speaker placement...etc) of cos some of those really really high end virtual surround speakers will sound better than low end 5.1 speakers. really depends on your ears,i'd prefer something more natural than artificial for my ears to feast on biggrin.gif

any nice advice for budget rm 180-250
*
in that budget....edifier m3300 has quite good clarity and dynamics but lacks depth/intensity for the bass, it will b good for softer type of songs, ex.classical, chinese music, celine dion, leona lewis, jay chou kind of songs. edifier m3400 has louder n fuller bass but lacks "presence/crispyness" in the treble zone so its better for techno, rnb, rap which requires heavier bass but u will lose some detail in the music because the midrange sounds rather "harsh". those two speaker stands out in the 180-250 budget. another one to consider is altec lansing vs4121, its better than the other two i mentioned in trance music and movies due to its bass characteristics...the best is to audition those speakers with the same music u prefer on all the three of them n compare lo smile.gif

For computer or home theater leh? Scared in wrong forum...lololol for computer, Logitech Z-5500 or G51... Those are seriously good for movie n games but musically not so good due to their strong bass and somewhat "thin/weak" midrange. No offence to those having those monster speakers they do rock xD ..but that is what i felt hearing those speakers side by side other speakers many times. hehe. if u talking about home theater i guess there are some really really good ones from yamaha and nakamichi.

it barely would loh...try to imagine this, no matter how much equaliser or stereo effects u try to put on a handphone's speaker, the difference will be minimal...cause of the speaker size n design. same with the lcd tv's speaker, those technologies are just to help enhance the sound up to a certain extent...it cant be extended anymore due to the physical limitations of the speakers mah... home theater nowadays got quite cheap one yet sound good smile.gif ...jus pay a visit to electronic store..HSL..Sengheng..Harvey Norman etc...u can find many already.

I don't have a budget yet, because I'm just thinking of getting a 5.1 set. I'm using a laptop anyway, I just love music and it'll serve useful since I'm a music-oriented person.

If it's possible, I would like suggestions from the high-end, mid-end and entry level speakers I could get.

Oh, and please, may I have the cheapest and best for its price range?

I'm sure the pros can handle this. =)

Before anything else, thank you for even reading my post.

Planning to buy for 2.1 speaker. Which one better?

Sonic Gear ARMAGEDDON 5 or Edifier M3300? Both price range are almost the same.

Hey, I was thinking about buying either the Edifier M3300 or the S330, but both those speakers cannot plug into my iPod, right? Are there any good speakers out there that I can use for both my iPod and laptop? My budget is under 400RM.

Thanks!

The M3300 & S330 can use with iPod. The only drawback is it cannot charge your iPod while u play the music.

Hello,

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask. I am planning to buy a 5.1 channel speaker system. However, as i know the sound card needs to be 5.1 compatible(like support 'multi-channel'?), but my ThinkPad R61i comes with an integrated sound card(the driver is SoundMax). Can anyone guide me as how to find out if my sound card can support 5.1 channel? I know little about speaker system. Thanks. smile.gif
