Probably extra stuff added to the laptop. Like base models built in china, then goes to Korea for quality testing or add more hardware into the laptop for final output.

Now selling even cheaper then lazada if purchase with purchase, assuming people need to buy it.

Finally done with my warranty upgrade for T495. Am thankful to have this.



Also I notice when doing the warranty upgrade, I had option for "Sealed Battery Replacement", this option wasn't available to me when I originally bought the laptop few weeks/months back. But i notice this option was available when i chose the 3Y Premier Support (RM 799) option today all of a sudden. So maybe its another mix-and-match thing where more options are given to you when you experiment the different customization settings on Lenovo.com

That offer wasn't given to me when i made the purchase. it was during citi45 promo. anyways quite beneficial you managed to grab that deal and also with T590 some more. Probably king of T series.

I find this hard to believe that it is a Ryzen issue, as even iPad has smooth scrolling and its not even a PC grade processor. It could be more a software issue. Were you using the same software to do the scrolling?

Btw, your Ryzen machine is the X395 right? is it dual channel or single slot RAM, heard that dual channel really makes a difference in performance.
Also the fact that its 16GB RAM vs 40GB RAM could also be one reason, not sure if PDF viewers use a lot of memory but anything cache normally requires RAM:

Depends on the promo and time and also luck, i think the T590 was one of the better deals we have seen, beside the T13s here. Other than that, the premium laptops too like those X1 and P series but how many will opt for those machines cause way above budget or way over powered for most people.

For me I am drawn to the thinkpad name. And from there I learn more about Lenovo offerings like Ideapad, Yoga, Thinkbook, Legion. And nowadays where got time to really research many brands at once. I think most people will just keep to one brand for a while before changing like Apple iPhones/iPad, or Sony or Samsung. Just makes things simpler.

This my main PC, so taking extra care of it. Hope they also allow me the sealed battery warranty upgrade discount too.
Then few month later buy extra 16GB RAM, make it total 32GB RAM. Not because I need all that RAM, but because I can. LOL The Power of Thinkpad.

Yours is the T13s? you know it can upgrade to 32GB single slot RAM. Buy from US is Rm400 cheaper, maybe can try Taobao or aliexpress too.

Mine already have 16GB ram in soldered slot, the socket slot is empty at the moment.

Your T590 is both socket RAM or 1 soldered 1 socket? also how much RAM is the Soldered on your T590?

It is not overkill, the point of owning thinkpad is not because you "need it", it is because "you can".

I never tried higher than 250 nits so far, but for T495, sometimes I do wish I went with higher. Currently the nits brightness of my own usage is at 80-90% and I am indoors with windows close, no sunlight. Just giving you my feedback.

Later this week or soon I will be getting a 300 nits display laptop, so then be able to compare between the two.

So for you you can go 8 + 32 = 40GB RAM (Even beats my T495 with soldered 16GB RAM, cause max i can go is 32GB due to AMD specs)

If you went with the 16GB soldered it can 16 + 32 = 48 GB RAM

Intel SoC normally can handle 64GB RAM total, but since the soldered is maxed at 16GB, it can't go more than 48GB RAM.

For T495 (non-s), i find it unusual they place the fan vents next to the right of the laptop. So if you are using right hand with mouse and the fan kicks it you will feel the hot air blowing to your right hand (Fan doesn't kick in much, but when it does you feel it - I feel this is a design flaw).

Most gaming laptops have their fan cooling vents at the back of the laptop which is better.

Hope the ThinkBook 13s fan vents is not on the right side of the laptop.
