Hahah same as SG one.
No longer can get this price anymore.

I think sure can, just need watch out for deals. And at this price, won't be surprise people will upgrade their laptop yearly. And now you make me wish I also maxed out the specs after seeing your T495 specs.

Due to 54% vs 45% is a huge discount price.
Hahah in HWZ most of them are missed the good deal for a single day only.

Ya MYsia don’t have backlit keyboard, but SG have.
*
You mean T495 no back lit keyboard? I think all T series have back lit keyboard. Just E series no back lit from what I research.

MYsian version T495 without backlit keyboard, the rest all same.
Just come with :
Keyboard
Keyboard Black English

I think this is just naming convention, they use different name. But will let you know once it has arrived.

For example I notice when I chose Ryzen 3 it mentions Vega graphics in the description but when I chose Ryzen 5, no mention of Vega graphics at all, but that chip does come with Vega graphics.

Hmmm... 3.2k is a bit pricey for AMD without a discreet gpu.

I thought Taiwanese made only listed them for about 2.4k or so.

Radeon Vega 8 Graphics oh, what do u expected of business laptop to provide gaming system?

Such as gaming laptop make for 1.5kg without heat an issue.
*
Don't just look at the processor but the whole built, especially 32GB ram, the SSD, display, fingerprint, warranty etc doubt you can get that at that price point anywhere else.

I thought 32gb is for Intel. The screenshot showed up to 16gb only.

I was referring to Benefon T495 purchase. Just scroll up a bit and you can see his screenshot of the configuration.

As for X395, main selling point is portability.

I ordered 1 day before you, but my expected shipping is next month 17th
How come you ordered 31 July now already shipped?

Same model? I notice those that took x1 carbon is the longest. Some have to wait till October.

X395 also have quite long wait time.

Seems T495 is the fastest but still long >20 days

Wish you have a great review after having it 😅😅

To be honest this laptop was overkill, was just looking for something basic like Acer Swift 3. Opportunity and luck came so just pounce on it.

I’ve used T430 and T450, and those were great machines.

Hope you enjoy your laptops too!

Lenovo says might arrive today.

UPS doesn’t give any estimated delivery now, just says “Clearance in Progress”.

I normally get parcels around afternoon and now has already past that time. I don’t think it will come today but we will see.

Ordered mine! Can't wait for it. Thanks for the thread.

I returned my dell inspiron and request for refund coz the display was way too shirty even for normal buisness work.

T495 I opted for the ryzen 5, and with ips display (250 nits). Hopefully it's much brighter, richer and less glaring than the inspiron one.
*
QUOTE(Benefon @ Aug 16 2019, 01:04 AM)
Lol why didn’t added for 400nits?
The Color up to 72% of abode standard.
*
i took 250 nits fhd too. hope the display is good enough. the issue is if you take 400 nits, lenovo forces you the wwan/broadband upgrade too and that adds rm400-rm500 (after discount) to your overall laptop price including the display. kinda wish i took the 400 nits too but was really price conscious when buying.

Anyways can always get an external monitor. i saw lenovo's thinvision m14 is around 300 nits.

Haha always set on max brightness will do.
My 4k display 500nits set on 70% brightness only, beyond 70% drain more energy 😂😂
*
I think also depends on the individual. Some prefer less brightness, some prefer more. My eyes quite sensitive to brightness so hopefully 250 nits is okay.

Btw, you should check out lazada, quite few new laptops with ryzen. And they quite affordable.

I did a search on ryzen 5 3500u, and you can get them for starting around rm2000. Quite competitive the specs too with 256GB storage. RAM ofcourse only 4GB. Here’s a sample: https://s.lazada.com.my/s.ZfWMu

Ofcourse i would still go with thinkpad no doubt.

Just wonder why the price so affordable compared to Intel?

I prefer Thinkpad only, Acer keyboard not deep enough.
Same as my current swift 5 keyboard for entertainment not an issue, if use for typing or documentation still prefer on ThinkPad.

ThinkPad Carbon body very nice to touch for Everyday.
*
Yes I agree, but I think the price tells you something here that we do not know yet.

Example the Swift 3 is actually most basic acer laptop you can get, suppose to have ryzen 3 but instead comes with ryzen 5 pro 3500u, which is equivalent to intel i5.

And I think your original question is still unanswered by anyone in why amd normally cheaper than intel chips.

No matter how cheap u can get from Acer, the bottom case is sticker sealed on the screw.
You can’t even upgrade the SSD within the warranty period, that is bad sight.

BTW such as business laptop i3 or i5 or equivalent with 5300U should be very good performance, cause we didn’t use for doing engineering like autodesk software.

AMD Ryzen Pro for 2019 products they have quota for Lenovo to pushing their sales volume, and maybe AMD given better overall market then Lenovo throwing better offer price for consumer.

For us in this batch is consider the lucky one, buying new laptop during their bigger sales.
*
Yeap, my next goal within few month will be looking out for deals for 16gb ram stick (making it total 32gb ram).

Another good thing is even the ssd is replaceable on the t495. So quite future proof.

My best bet is that amd suffers from a reputation deficit, that’s why cannot sell as high as intel, I see the r/thinkpad community a lot also going for the amd models instead of the intel. Some even paying same price or more than intel models.

I think you are right in that amd and Lenovo is pushing for more amd laptops and that’s why prices are lowered.
