X395 don't have 16gb option sad.gif

Yeah seems max is 8gb. Can consider T495, which is also considered ultra portable but slightly bigger than x395.

It has additional RAM slot that you can upgrade yourself or customize at Lenovo website up to 16gb (total 24gb).

amd 3000 should be 7nm. way more faster and power efficient. handphone processor already in 7nm era mang.
*
Well now buying laptop, so should compare with other laptop offerings right? i see even intel on the site shows 14 nm technology for their mobile processors.

the vega is equivalrnt to? gtx 1050?

This I not so sure but so far reviews say it's good. Only downside is heat and lower battery life compared to Intel (by more than 1 hour according to some forums).

AMD resale value bikin malu only

The discount itself worth more than the resale value already.

With this price just use and throw after using it 3 years and keep it in the corner.

Will it heat? How does the battery life perform?
*
Yeah many reviews for ryzen say it's hot. Also expect battery life lower compared to Intel. Saw on one forum it say by 1 hour and a half. But this Thinkpad can buy 65W charger for fast charging.

This is true...

But if can get cheap, then it's worth it.
*
Yeap and so far reviews quite okay. Even the Thinkpad subreddit a lot going for the T495 or X395 version of the series instead of Intel.

"Everyone on here who gets a T49X gets the T495 instead of the T490 or T490S. Don't blame them, Ryzen is sweet." -r/thinkpad

Heat is fine as long as cpu don't go below base clock when under stress.

True, but I see most people just complain about heat and are worried about that, instead of performance.

These amd thinkpad models got no thunderbolt. It's one downside for amd.

Now the base price is this. Really worth it this sale.

But Lenovo is known to change prices on their website. On Citi sale that day they say I save rm2K, but last night after midnight I did a check, they say I saved rm1K. Today back to normal web price.

Nonetheless still happy cause for base model price, I got a full spec laptop.

One thing delivery is long. But hope somehow can come earlier. Before I order I check other people say 8-10 days. Maybe cause sale, they take longer to ship out due to volume of orders.

Haha for the price I willing to wait. Before this I was looking at Acer and Asus for their price. And getting a thinkpad for the same price is really good feeling.

But one thing about Lenovo is you need watch out their online pricing. They keep changing and make you feel like you save rm2K when actually it's probably less. But still the discount is good even though they play with their prices.

ts, if during promo time buy other series like legion also got 45% off?
*
For this Citibank 45% off, you can check out again next month. offer is last 3 days of the month. only until September 2019.

But Lenovo also have their own deals and flash sale, so better check their fb page or online website time to time for deals.

This is when I'll get it. Funny thing is I think I'll get two cause I cancelled first order cause I wanted to change some configurations. And now they've shipped the first order mouse and backpack too.

I have 2 amd laptops now, both lenovo ideapads, one 5 years old (a8-6410), one bought in dec last year (r5 2500u).

Now I’m eyeing the ideapad s340 (nbplaza) for it’s slimmer profile and better battery life, but might just wait for ryzen2 next year.

Would love to get the ultrabook-ish asus vivobook now (techhypermart), but asus doesn’t offers the 15” version here cry.gif

The problem with amd laptops now is not the performance or heat. Battery life also no issue now, ryzen gen2 greatly improved over gen1.

The problem is, manufacturers putting low end features for most amd laptops, and positioning them as low cost alternatives to intel i3/celeron. Getting a decent high end one is hard, there’s always a trade off somewhere.

Eg. single channel ram, soldered dimms, 1w speakers, usb 3.0 gen1 ports, no usb c (seriously asus tuf???), usb c not supporting alternate mode (dp/hdmi), wifi ac 1x1, BT 4.1, 720p 15” screen (seriously lenovo L340???).

And poor cooling & heavy throttling:

That's why these amd thinkpads are a big deal. First time a company put in amd in their high end laptops.

Before this even Lenovo had the A series to differentiate between T and X series, only difference is like you said, lower spec quality and also lower build quality.

But this time the amd version T and X series have all the high end specs that the Intel version has including the military spec test laptop build.
