I have a NAS, so I just set it up as a Plex server?

then all the tv on the same network just download the Plex app?
I think the TVs support HDR but not DV

what about outside of the server?

What makes you think CCwGTV can’t play 4K HDR remux? Mine indicates that it’s direct playing 4K HDR10+ in the native bitrate so I’m curious.
*
Because I had test and cannot. You are not playing in native bitrate. I got test some 4K HDR REMUX titles and 99% it cannot playback. Even can playback also not smooth.
It is not my network issue as no issue when running at Apple TV 4K Plex or Infuse Pro wireless or wired.

4K HDR stream version or lossy version can.

4K HDR REMUX version cannot. It just simply stuck all time.

I only playback actual quality, not letting Plex to decode or transcode as Plex decode or transcode reduce quality from actual, if decode or transcode then every format also can playback.
Beside this I don't have any NAS, I still load my Plex Media Center at my older Laptop and transcode 4K HDR REMUX is suicide my laptop.

streaming format video tu apa hahahah

I think I will need to relearn everything again if I want to use this Plex again
I remember using it decade ago, but not very usable tat time
*
4K HDR Streaming format I means is those 4K HDR / Dolby Vision which people leak from Netflix, Disney+, HBO MAX, Amazon Prime and etc.
Streaming version can as it bitrate is around 15Mbps to 20Mbps where is this TV Box capable.

4K HDR REMUX format I means is those came from actual 4K UHD-Blu-ray REMUX without any compression.
REMUX is very high bitrate around 45Mbps to 90Mbps and this higher bitrate was too heavy for this TV Box.

So far in market, only Nvidia Shield TV Pro and Apple TV 4K can handling 4K HDR REMUX smoothly.

eh... how come the USB port won't work dy? need additional power supply?
the old Chromecast can work ler

mind sharing more on how ur Plex servers work + dv/hdr + Chromecast is god send?
*
The new CCwGTV require at least 5W or more(≤7.5W), similar to the CC Ultra for 4K content playback compare to old CC(FHD) which only require less than 2.5W & usually the TV USB port only output around 3W.

..but if need to use USB Hub or Ethernet then it may require more wattage to function but also depends on the USB HUB power consumption.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Jul 16 2021, 02:02 PM)
To me I don't get this as

  • Not support Dolby Vision.

  • Processor is slower.

  • 8 GB is not correct as the available capacity is same 4 GB where Chromecast with Google TV was putting 4 GB as actual available storage.

  • Did not came with new Google TV interface by default

I get the spec from here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6IfRdg9vF0

I compared mine using same software - AIDA64.
*
Both CCwGTV & KM2 actual hardware storage is 8GB.
The reported 4GB capacity is for public available storage.
There is another system storage which contains kernel, OS, pre-installed apps & etc..

Iinm, Aida64 can't read actual hardware storage & some similar apps will need root access to get the info.

Even on Shield TV '17 Aida64 will only report 11GB available storage while the actual storage is 16GB.

Oh thanks for the information, anyway both available capacity also too small.

I hoping next version came with at least 32 GB and more RAM.

When you bought the TV can drafty know it support HDR or not. The easier to check, open Netflix and check for movie "Okja", if they not showing HDR or Dolby Vision then your TV not support.
Another method to check is via the setting in your Chromecast with Google TV. You will not able to select HDR or Dolby Vision in Display setting if your TV not support HDR or Dolby Vision.

If your TV not support HDR, the HDR will transcode to SDR and it normally won't better than actual SDR video as HDR to SDR tend to be more darker and not looking as good as it is.

For Dolby Vision, in latest this 3 years TV, LG is 100% support, Samsung is 100% not support, Panasonic, Sony, TCL, Hisense depends on model.

Forgot to mention that both of the device storage can be expand with flash drive & it will be read as internal storage..

Infact, almost all latest Android box can do that..

Fututre device with high ram is possible but big storage maybe not..

I don't want expand, I play before expand in Mi Box, it is not as good as Internal Storage and not all apps can move to external storage.
In Chromecast with Google TV probably better as it is USB-C, but still expand external storage is not a good solution than actual build-in storage, especially on performance wise.

Not sure how to convince you it works for me. Most of my 4k remux files I take from m2ts files and convert into mkv using mkvtoolnix so no quality loss based on before/after mediainfo check.

Are you sure it’s not a network issue? Can you run a network test for me using analiti on your chromecast and let me know your result? If you’re a bit more technical can try run iperf3 to check ? On 5ghz I get around 250 Mbps..

It depends on the device firmware, specs & the type of flash drive used for that because it need to have good random access performance which is why SSD is recommended.
As for moving apps to external, the app itself must support the feature first which most Android TV app doesn't not but still can be force to move by enabling the setting in developer menu.

Fyi, even though CCwGTV has USB-C port but it is limited to USB 2.0 speed & no gigabit Ethernet support but some users reported Ethernet speed up to 300Mbps..

p/s:-
sorry guys for out of topic discussion..😬
Maybe it's time to have dedicated thread on CCwGTV..

Hi, Here my result and it show I don't have issue on Wi-Fi performance. I had hide the IP details. I also using same method and MKVToolnix is the best tools for REMUX.
I will purchase a USB Hub and test Wired, see working or not in coming month.

Thanks to zack.gap PM for more test.

I need to make some changes on what I said just before. Sorry off topic again.

Chromecast with Google TV is manage to playback 4K HDR REMUX as long the sound track is not Dolby TrueHD. I had no idea what is the issue here.

I finally found a 1080p REMUX video with Dolby TrueHD also cannot playback.

The culprit here is the Dolby TrueHD track issue not the video resolution issue. Hmm... weird. Can't find any solution yet.

But Plex plug-in for KODI can playback Dolby TrueHD track! Why!?

CCwGTV does not support TrueHD, what probably happening in your case is that Kodi is transcoding Truehd to LPCM..

Ya I just notice and at least in KODI it is change to LPCM.

In Plex apps itself is transcode to AAC. I notice the reason from Plex playback info.

So only Nvidia Shield support TrueHD ?
