eh... how come the USB port won't work dy? need additional power supply?
the old Chromecast can work ler

mind sharing more on how ur Plex servers work + dv/hdr + Chromecast is god send?
*
The new CCwGTV require at least 5W or more(≤7.5W), similar to the CC Ultra for 4K content playback compare to old CC(FHD) which only require less than 2.5W & usually the TV USB port only output around 3W.

..but if need to use USB Hub or Ethernet then it may require more wattage to function but also depends on the USB HUB power consumption.

To me I don't get this as

  • Not support Dolby Vision.

  • Processor is slower.

  • 8 GB is not correct as the available capacity is same 4 GB where Chromecast with Google TV was putting 4 GB as actual available storage.

  • Did not came with new Google TV interface by default

I get the spec from here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6IfRdg9vF0

I compared mine using same software - AIDA64.
*
Both CCwGTV & KM2 actual hardware storage is 8GB.
The reported 4GB capacity is for public available storage.
There is another system storage which contains kernel, OS, pre-installed apps & etc..

Iinm, Aida64 can't read actual hardware storage & some similar apps will need root access to get the info.

Even on Shield TV '17 Aida64 will only report 11GB available storage while the actual storage is 16GB.

Oh thanks for the information, anyway both available capacity also too small.

I hoping next version came with at least 32 GB and more RAM.

Forgot to mention that both of the device storage can be expand with flash drive & it will be read as internal storage..

Infact, almost all latest Android box can do that..

Fututre device with high ram is possible but big storage maybe not..

I don't want expand, I play before expand in Mi Box, it is not as good as Internal Storage and not all apps can move to external storage.
In Chromecast with Google TV probably better as it is USB-C, but still expand external storage is not a good solution than actual build-in storage, especially on performance wise.

It depends on the device firmware, specs & the type of flash drive used for that because it need to have good random access performance which is why SSD is recommended.
As for moving apps to external, the app itself must support the feature first which most Android TV app doesn't not but still can be force to move by enabling the setting in developer menu.

Fyi, even though CCwGTV has USB-C port but it is limited to USB 2.0 speed & no gigabit Ethernet support but some users reported Ethernet speed up to 300Mbps..

p/s:-
sorry guys for out of topic discussion..😬
Maybe it's time to have dedicated thread on CCwGTV..

Thanks to zack.gap PM for more test.

I need to make some changes on what I said just before. Sorry off topic again.

Chromecast with Google TV is manage to playback 4K HDR REMUX as long the sound track is not Dolby TrueHD. I had no idea what is the issue here.

I finally found a 1080p REMUX video with Dolby TrueHD also cannot playback.

The culprit here is the Dolby TrueHD track issue not the video resolution issue. Hmm... weird. Can't find any solution yet.

But Plex plug-in for KODI can playback Dolby TrueHD track! Why!?
*
CCwGTV does not support TrueHD, what probably happening in your case is that Kodi is transcoding Truehd to LPCM..

Ya I just notice and at least in KODI it is change to LPCM.

In Plex apps itself is transcode to AAC.

So only Nvidia Shield support TrueHD ?

Yup..
Afaik, it is the the only certified Android TV box with lossless audio support..
