Bought from the same seller. Definitely worth it! Just take note that you’re gonna need a usb power supply since the provided plug is for US outlet (and no, a TV’s USB port won’t work). It supports Dolby Vision/HDR10+ too so it’s a godsend for people who have Plex servers like me brows.gif

Yeah need additional power supply. You can try your tv’s USB port but it’ll probably pop up an error message on your tv rclxub.gif

I basically store 4K bluray remuxes on an old laptop that acts as a Plex server (connected via lan to my router). Once you install Plex on the new chromecast there’s no need for a bluray player + hdmi cable combo. Can stream wherever in the house so long as can connect to router in full 4K/DV glory. So far the only format that it doesn’t direct play on my tv is Dolby TrueHD but that doesn’t take too much processing power to transcode anyway.

You need plugin the USB cable to power source, not TV USB Port.

For Plex, it is playable everything up to 4K HDR Streaming format video only.

The only cannot playback is 4K HDR REMUX video. This box is still under power for playing such high bitrate video.
No issue for 1080p REMUX video but not the 4K HDR REMUX video.

So own content I still use Apple TV 4K as Apple TV 4K (latest 2021) can playback up to 4K HDR REMUX video.

and connect to VPN, you will get full glory of this Chromecast with Google TV where For you is available.

You won't regret buying it, for Streaming services, Chromecast with Google TV did brilliantly. But if for playback everything, it can’t for 4K HDR REMUX video.

sounds good bro.. and another i found annoying over Plex on my Samsung Tv.. when i play 4k HDR movies and if i have the only the fly subtitle it tends to lag.. it doesnt seems to go with with subtitle but most non HDR media play quite well.

I think for TV is even worst on Plex 4K HDR support. Anyway Plex is ok but not perfect. I so hope Infuse Pro is coming to Android, it did brilliantly especially the subtitle part. Too bad Infuse only do their apps for Apple.

To me I don't get this as
  • Not support Dolby Vision.
  • Processor is slower.
  • 8 GB is not correct as the available capacity is same 4 GB where Chromecast with Google TV was putting 4 GB as actual available storage.
  • Did not came with new Google TV interface by default

I get the spec from here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6IfRdg9vF0

I compared mine using same software - AIDA64.

What makes you think CCwGTV can’t play 4K HDR remux? Mine indicates that it’s direct playing 4K HDR10+ in the native bitrate so I’m curious.

Wireless.

TV needs to be able to support DV/HDR10+ . If it doesn’t still no issue, CCwGTV will take the basic HDR . If your Tv can’t support HDR either then Plex will try to remap HDR to SDR but that’s gonna involve video transcoding which is extremely cpu intensive..

I have a NAS, so I just set it up as a Plex server?

then all the tv on the same network just download the Plex app?
I think the TVs support HDR but not DV

what about outside of the server?
