gentlement dont blame your age / your eye. Blame the marketing gimmic. 1080 to 4k its not equal to 3 times more clarity. Especially true for those movies title with CGI.

There are some good title without CGI can live up 4k like Nolan Batman Trilogy. Very nice SQ but noticible noise that i observed on PQ.

I need to do frame by frame comparison between fullHD and 4k to tell the different and its not obvious for title like transformer. Dont spend your hard earn money on 4k title with lots of CGI. you might not get the best of it.

Good video must go with good audio.

8k video no fun if audio 1.0 or 2.0. tongue.gif

true.. 4k video with 2 channel sound only aroun 1-2GB compressed.... with decent codec for 5 - 9 channels it can go up to 20GB - 30gb

The Irishman... is quite a piece of work.... from acclaimed Martin Scorsese who also did casino, goodfellas - american mafia crime epics... and the departed, wolf on wall street, shutter island, taxi driver, etc.

3 3/4 hrs long... not much action but not boring either... more of intense drama - of politics and crime.

but u gotta like his mafia movies or the godfather trilogy (from francis ford coppola) to like this.

star studded - robert de niro, al pacino, joe pesci, harvey keitel.

i enjoyed it... but i suspect the younger gen will not... maybe becos there is a lot of "old men" stuff in it. laugh.gif

3.5/5.

finally get to watch this film.
I started the film without reading any synopsis. Initially thought either matt damon / christian bale is on ferrari and another one is on ford. But the story tells different thing.
My rating for the film:

Storyline: 4/5
PQ: 4/5
SQ: 5/5 (on my 5.1 system)
Will i recommend the movie: Yes, if you likes cars. Both matt and christian are good actors.

Bloodshot... is ok, but could have been better. 2.5/5.

bloodshot is a valiant comics character, not so well known like those from dc or marvel.

vin diesel did ok, old school action; stars guy pearce as well.

given it is a box office bomb, unsure if there will be more as sequels or others from the franchise.

extra... westworld season 3 is on.
if u liked s1, s2, u gotta watch s3.
new characters incl aaron paul (breaking bad), vincent cassel (black swan, jason bourne)
i already like it when it starts to go down the matrix rabbit hole - real world, westworld, simulated constructs.

Ford Vs Ferrari (2019)

I don't like war movies.

I don't like sports movies.

2019 did something strange to me...

I absolutely love 1917 and now, I also absolutely love Ford Vs Ferrari!!!

You CAN teach old dogs new tricks... smile.gif

Originally, the intention was to get Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt to star in this.

This movie ended up with Christian Bale and Matt Damon, and my goodness, they are magnificent!!

Ferrari has a racing pedigree.

Ford has mass production, American know how and We can do anything if we put our minds to it pedigree...

In the 60s, Ferrari was on the verge of financial ruin and Ford wanted in, at the racing arena.

Ford offered to buy Ferrari, they pitch them an offer, which Ford thought Ferrari could not refuse.

Fiat caught wind of this, and gave Ferrari a better offer, and Enzo Ferrari not only drop Ford's offer like a hot potato, he let Ford company know what he really thought about them and their owner (eg. Not flattering).

Henry Ford II took it personally and decided to hit back at where it will hurt Ferrari, by winning the Le Mans racing...

Ford started a racing division and invited the only American Le Mans winner Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) to be part of the racing car design team.

Carroll Shelby invited British driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale) to be in this team as well...

Will the mavericks survive the corporate culture of Ford Motors?

This movie grabbed me (in a good way) from the start to finished.

Oh Noah Jupe is Peter Miles (Ken's son) in this.

Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe and Josh Lucas all brought their A game!!

So to sum up this movie, I will subject you to my singing,

I'm H-A-P-P-Y,
I'm H-A-P-P-Y,
I know I am,
I'm sure I am,
I'm H-A-P-P-Y!

I watched this on 4K, Picture and sound, pretty good.

That, is my Two Sen
*
indeed this is a nice movie... however my synopisis is a bit different from yours.. its more to me on a story how ford cheated to get the championship lol. first by changing the entire brake assembly then to disturb by removing stopwatch to create the chaos within the team of ferrari.. The movie explain how the american would play and how they play in the grey area.

I like the movie a lot too brows.gif

Oh we are on the same page

I usually give readers what I feel about the movie and not reveal too much of the plot.

American have in the past to current did things their way (their rules) and everyone else in the world has to conform to their rule

It has positive

1) WWII the British invented radar, and could not figure out how to mass product the said tech cost effectively and efficiently, the American figured it out, and alot of historians believe the tech (radar), implemented, changed the course of the war for the Allied Forces

And Negative

All trade in Oil has to be done in US Dollar, so that the US Dollar is a "global" commodity. WHich is mainly how US gets everyone to play be their rule, and their rule tend to side on the benefit of the US economy....

THAT is how American thinks....

Sorry, I am blabbering
*
nah i feel the same excitement as much as u do for the entire film.. not much boring part and the storyline were explained clearly by the plot. encourage for those who havent watch the movie icon_rolleyes.gif

Netflix Production. Recommend for those who like action movie that involves big guns. This story more like a modern Rambo. I give 3 out of 5 stars.

similar to TOGO 2019, 2.5/5.
light, heartwarming canine stories.
good action but rather poor script. 2.5/5 as well.

other new movies:
Birds of Prey, Fantasy Island, Mortal Combat Legends - 2/5.
The Lodge, Arkansas - gave up , didn't finish!
Another good TV show - Zerozerozero - an Italian drugs/crime saga.
Story from same writer as Gomorrah, another good crime movie.
*
aiksss... u rate extraction 2.5 and birds of prey / fantasy island only 2 stars? i m still waiting for bluray for this... looks like i m going to re prioritize based on ur feedback.. maybe to watch the call of the wild first..
the lodge seems to be low budget horror too.. i catch the trailer but haven really decide if i m going to watch it... what you think?

agree with extraction scripting wise is not exciting.. same like old time rambo.. they only focus on the firepower and explosion.. unlike Daylight (1996) by Sylvester Stallone too.. recommend if anyone who havent watch this.

daylight 1996 is a classic.

1990's, they make great movies, incl jurassic park, T2, independence day

today, too much cgi, special effects... not nice.
*
and the other classic movie.. Speed 1994.. Keanu Reeves.. action packed movie.. real explosion...
