Straight forward story line, touching





Nice pacing action movie, no slow moments
Would prefer more jump-scare scenes tho

The Shadow Strays is an indonesian movie.

gangsters, assassins, corrupt politicians, poliz... knives, machetes, katanas, pistols, machine guns, grenade launchers...

100% action, 110% violence.

there had not been an indon movie like this since Raid Redemption 2011.

if u liked Raid, u will certainly like this one.

imagine... Raid + kill bill + le femme Nikita + The Professional all put together.

i certainly applaud it for its boldness & energy shown by director Timo Tjahjanto and the main cast, esp 20 yr old Aurora Ribero.

the movie ended with a quick guest star appearance by Yayan Ruhian, the great fighter in Raid Redemption.

hopefully, it signals a plan for a sequel! 4/5.




Alien Romulus is an interquel, set between Alien and Aliens.

it's been 45 yrs since ridley scott made Alien 1979.

Romulus has all the action and suspense of its predecessors.

it is esp reminiscent of Alien, Aliens and Alien Resurrection.

a surprise was the use of CGI to bring back deceased Ian Holm as synthetic Rook, a lookalike android as Ash in Alien.

while waiting for ridley scott to do the final of the prequel trilogy Prometheus-Covenant-?, enjoy this Romulus. 3.5/5.

Caddo lake, a simplified version of Dark TV Seires, if you like Dark, you would like this movie

not a family-friendly movie, pink nips... gore, blood
ASMR gore

Still a nice watch if you fancy all those

Back to the glory days of HK movies with this one... yesteryears entertainment
Boss fights are a joy to watch

the only comment about this is the villain seems to possess unnatural superpower at the end of the film. sudah ada golden bell protection

nice weekend watch

Really nice movie

plot - 2/5 - was on higher expectation but the story wasn't intense to carry storyline. Comparable series like Speed - which is more intense that would glue you to the screen. I havent get the chance the watch the original film by Japan in 1975.
sound effect - 2/5 - nothing surprising with only subpar sound effect. I guess my sub is sleeping all the time..
picture - 2/5 - some cgi in use overall nothing appealing a mixture of outskirt view of Japan while the train is running and most of the time the scene is within the train.

if you need something to kill your time this movie may fit your list if nothing else does. Good to see Tsuyoshi Kusanagi leading acting the film but its a waste that the movie wasnt able to provide more weightage over the action part.
