TIR that the time between when the F-14 Tomcat was first launched and the period the Supermarine Spitfire was first launched is closer than we are today to when the F-14 itself was first launched.





In context, the F-14 was first launched in 1970 and the Spitfire was first launched in 1936. So they both have a gap of 34 years between their respective first flights. We are now in 2021, so in 1970 when the F-14 was first launched, it was literally 51 years ago.

today's military technology is just maturation of cold war technology

basic concepts of rifles, tanks, aircrafts, warships etc just the same

The next major breakthrough should be aircrafts that can go to atmosphere and space back and forth

but that's just a waste of money to develop and operate

Suicide bomber targets Mass in Indonesia, several hurt

JAKARTA, Indonesia — A suicide bomber blew himself up outside a packed Roman Catholic cathedral on Indonesia's Sulawesi island during a Palm Sunday Mass, wounding at least nine people, police said.

A cellular video obtained by The Associated Press showed body parts scattered near a burning motorbike at the gates of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral in Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi province.

Wilhelmus Tulak, a Catholic priest who led the Mass when the bomb exploded at about 10:30 a.m., told reporters that a loud bang shocked his congregation who had just finished the service.

Tulak said the church's security guards suspected two motorists who wanted to enter the church. One of them detonated his explosives and died near the gate after being confronted by guards.

He said the attack caused no casualties among churchgoers.

South Sulawesi police chief Merdisyam said at least one bomber died and four guards and five civilians were wounded.

Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim-majority nation, has been battling militants since bombings on the resort island of Bali in 2002 killed 202 people, mostly foreign tourists. Attacks aimed at foreigners have been largely replaced in recent years by smaller, less deadly strikes targeting the government, police and anti-terrorism forces and people militants consider as infidels.

Imho i would like it to be called a Combat Boat rather than a "Tank Boat". Even John Cockerill at their booth during IDEX 2021 called it a Combat Boat. Lol.

Anyway the first prototype that you see is fitted with a John Cockerill latest 3030 Series Turret (30mm). Looks like add-on armors are fitted around and above the bridge. The "Tank Boat" is actually a collaboration project between PT Lundin, PT Pindad and John Cockerill.
