QUOTE(beLIEve @ Jul 4 2019, 08:39 PM) this year Sept 1 is Sunday and also Awal Muharram holiday. Replacement holiday on Monday. 1 month dividend gone already when buy in Sept. Just invest whenever you got the time and ignore the dividend date. It was only one month dividend of fresh investment, which I think usually not more than 5% of total investment (could be <1% for some)... |

I thought we always try to minimize loss and maximize profit mah. Losing 1 month dividend at 4.5% (assuming they will declare this) will bring me same level as promotional FD.QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jul 4 2019, 10:29 PM) then buy before ASNB suspend the fund for dividend calculation ahahahah. FD mature during suspension. Most probably I'll just realize the 1 month "loss" and buy in Sept. Sementara stok masih ada.easy & simple solution. only problem do have available units Will try ask friends n family help to roll them funds before suspension loh. I pay back lor last time when mega sales.. ask help here & there.. lucky that time have few hours to buy now the biggest question. I wonder if ASM2 would give same dividend rate as ASM1 or lower? |

Last month before payday I already leeched some so that I don't have to rush buying towards Jul 1.last time when mega sales.. ask help here & there.. lucky that time have few hours to buy now the biggest question. I wonder if ASM2 would give same dividend rate as ASM1 or lower? oh i didn't know you also sought help everywhere for the big sale woh. I thought you're well prepared for any sales. With ASB3 (despite being a growth fund) this low, I do have some doubts. So I'm looking at ~4.8% loh. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Jul 4 2019, 10:58 PM |

Like that OCBC thingy. Once sale, just cash out and buy. Haha surprisingly, these friends never borrowed from me. Or maybe 1 did. If they reach the stage having to borrow from me, I don't think they can help me monetarily wise. I don't expect non-bumi funds to give dividend higher than bumi funds loh. 天地不容 ah. Too bad no more dividend before ASM2. If got, then can use as reference since ASB3 is odd one out. |

Hi guys, would like to know if my simple calculations are correct.
I am about to take a fully flexi loan on a subsale house. Interest rates are about 4.2%. Given that ASM1 gives 5.5% dividend and assuming it doesn't change next year, would it be more worth it to put any extra funds I have every month into ASM1 instead of paying extra for my housing loan besides what I'm required to every month? Is it safe to assume that i would gain 5.5%-4.2% = 1.3%? Is there any other things I have to take into account? Thanks in advance!! |

Your calculation sounds correct to me. If there's anything unexpected like Asian Financial Crisis where interest rates soar to 2 digits, cash out and dump into the flexi loan account.I am about to take a fully flexi loan on a subsale house. Interest rates are about 4.2%. Given that ASM1 gives 5.5% dividend and assuming it doesn't change next year, would it be more worth it to put any extra funds I have every month into ASM1 instead of paying extra for my housing loan besides what I'm required to every month? Thanks in advance!! your challenge is probably to buy the ASM*. for every 100k, the difference is 1300 per annum. you decide worthwhile or not. Is it safe to assume that i would gain 5.5%-4.2% = 1.3%? Is there any other things I have to take into account? Thanks in advance!! reason: 1. bank flexi loan is calculate on the remaining balance now ie 500K @ 4.2% 2. from all the post above, you might know it is difficult to buy ASNB unit (unless you are Bumi, then might be easier to max up ASB). eg. if you are full time catcha-ing maybe can get RM100K for month 1, then ASNB distribution will be RM100K @ 5.5% @ 11mths 3. How about the balance RM400K? put at FD for 3%~4% while getting the ASNB unit ? this is my own thought. |
