What is the direct link for online payment in CIDB website, and what did you pay for?

I used to make payment at CIDB physical office, for the renewal of my CIDB Green Card. It would be nice, if I can pay for the renewal in CIDB website, and then just collect my CIDB Green Card in CIDB office.

Post 4 states that cashback is given for online transaction in CIDB portal (https://cims.cidb.gov.my), for Public Bank Visa Signature and Quantum MasterCard.

Well, CIDB is actually a government agency. Since government-related payments is excluded from online cashback, I have some doubt in using Public Bank Quantum MasterCard for online transaction in CIDB portal.

I do not think that anyone here has posted the Merchant Category Code for CIDB portal.

Has anyone managed to get online cashback in CIDB portal, with their Public Bank Visa Signature and Quantum MasterCard, after 1 September 2019?

Yes, I am aware that tan_aniki answered my question about CIDB.

It was year 2017, which is about two year ago. If tan_aniki had the MCC, tan_aniki would have posted it here.

tan_aniki should not be only one using Public Bank credit card to pay CIDB, thus I pose the questions in general to anyone here.

As we all now, it is too bad now that Public Bank stops giving cashback for government-related transactions [MCC 9211, 9222, 9223, 9399, 9311, 9402, 9405], ever since 1 September 2019.

I am hoping there is a remote chance that non-governmental MCC is given for CIDB transactions.

Anyway, since we do not know the MCC, it is best for me to use UOB Yolo Card to pay for CIDB transactions early next month, just to be on the safe side.

Ah alright. So every year after paying for the sst, just call and ask for rebate right. 😁

Edit. Just read last page. So it's spending rm500+ per year, then can get the RM25 SST rebate. Thanks again guys.

they only given 1 VIP for every RM1 on government related payments but i can get CB in 2017, so i don't think CIDB fall under government related transaction.

After using my Quantum Visa for a while, I keep encountering no response from certain older card terminals (usually Verifone ones, and older terminals provided by CIMB but not sure of the terminal brand) when using PayWave.

And for newer "touch-screen" RevPay terminals, placing the card horizontally on the sensor area will not register. Need to place the card vertically with the right side of the card nearer to the terminal sensor to register. Sometimes i need to move my card a bit to the left/right for the terminal to successfully read it. I suspect the RFID chip is very skewed towards the right side of the card.

In other words, some cashiers will not be able to process the payment with Wave (and resort to PIN method), unless I hold the card and try it on my own. Anybody has similar experience?

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Yea, it should be the antenna's position, I feel that it registers better when i center the right-side of the card to the terminal.

Sometimes cashiers tap too fast and it doesn't register. And when the card is placed too long on the terminal, the transaction might time-out too. But for my other banks' cards, they work fine even though it's tapped very fast. Wondering if my card is slightly defective and need to be replaced

Will I get cashback if my amount is above RM250, then I waved it, enter card and pressed the PIN? After slotting in the card it did not prompt to enter the RM amount and I can direct insert my PIN. Does this mean that it registers as wave or PIN? Too bad I threw my credit card slip already so I can't check.

What about (wave-->slot in card-->pin)? I think most users are reporting (wave-->pin).

Hmm too bad. Well I will report back when I got my statement. Because when I slot in the card it did not ask to re-key in the transaction amount again, so hopefully it did not read my slotted card.

Random query on the new feature for the Quantum Visa (Wave 5%) - If I make a major purchase of RM800 e.g. via wave initiation and forced to enter PIN (expected), does it still count as a wave transaction or PIN?

I rmb someone said somewhere it would still be wave, thus eligible for the 5%? So for my waves at grocery stores have all got 5% - speedmart, NSK, giant, KKmart in my trials.

It also tagged as online transaxtion at the same post.
