this can be triggered by merchant or scheme side.

even CS asked me if I did any attempt to use the card at shopee or Lazada etc ... which I had stop using this card last week.

from the look of it, the merchant or visa triggered it to "check" the card validity...

there should be no problem with it but it should communicated clearly the nature of this happening.

kinda costly for bank to issue replacement cards if everyone calling in claiming fraud (can't blame them either)

even your usual spending, can check pbe app immediately after swipe the card.
