why never take GS like your friends?

Because GS is simply beyond my reach bro. For now, CB650R is the bike that I can ride daily to work (not too big with plenty of power) and take to long distance ride once in a while. And I like the agility of the bike when dealing with traffics.

Part 2 is up! Riding from Narathiwat to Pattani province with a lot of military checkpoints. Mobile phone roaming service for Malaysian number is barred too. Ride safe and always be vigilant. The Honda glide through under scorching heat without any sweat icon_rolleyes.gif

Get a Kawa instead. Now they are better bang for buck. But if Honda is tugging your heart, then get it aje.

its a decent 4 cylinder bike if you can get it

getting a z900 or s750 is probably much easier though

Yes, i always have a heart for this bike, it has a special place in my heart.
reason why no kawa for me is that, i am having a kawa z125 pro now already, might even sell this to make way for this cb650r.

all new stocks that are coming in are 2022 batch, none is 2023, based on what the dealer says.
and they cant be sure if the new cb650r would be coming in or not also in 2024

YEs Sell the 125 Pro and get the Z900. Its a very versatile bike with lots of accessories around. The z9 can last easily 3 - 4 years before you itch again.

heh, same situation as you i too have made booking for the CB650R and if its discontinued next year...i most prolly will be taking Z900
purpose of the bike is mainly for long distance travelling with minimal vibration at high speed, but the Z900 fuel consumption of 15km/l abit putting me off compared to others that has 21-23km/l

I have tried kawa, now i wanted to try another japanese make. so i think i would be getting the honda cb series instead of kawa already.
many have been telling won't regret with this cb bikes.

i understand your situation, for me, it is just a hobby and a weekend bike, for context, i prolly won't do more than 5k in a year, so consumption wise, etc also won't be too much of an issue for me.

and i also heard that it is gonna be discontinued next year, so that's why i also want to get it now.

actually this situation is kinda funny for me, i booked with the pj branch, but i went to the new damansara outlet, i put down my name, and following week there's a bike with the colour of my choice there available for me already, cos the previous person who wanted this got his loan rejected. so i am thinking if i get lucky or what. i waited only for 1 week, and i prolly take 1 week to sell my bike, interchange my number plate and make full payment.

initially i was also looking at Monster, but for me, it is definitely gonna be a waste and i think cb650r would be more than enough for me already.

wait what? what color did you choose? and now there's a new bike waiting for you to pick up at the damansara outlet? that's really fast.
its really up to you, to me i think if you plan to keep the bike for long then it shouldnt be a problem. reason why i want it is because of its looks, small size (the handlebar is rather short compared to other bikes so easier to filter through traffic) inline 4, and the brand is known for its reliability.

Yes, the bike is there about 1 hour i put down my name during my first visit, few days later after that, been informed that the guy got his loan rejected, then it went on to the next person and that's me.

I placed booking with the PJ outlet about 2 months ago, but until today, there's no news, no details, no update, no nothing, fed up. Then went to this Damansara outlet, got allocated with a bike in 1 weeks' time. Maybe i'm just lucky.

It is a blue matt coloured one by the way, many wanted the red or black. I think i would be keeping the bike for a long time la, most probably won't sell the bike.

By the way, is the size really small? cos i'm going from a small bike to this CB650R, dun think it is that small though.

hahaha, that time was on a book first, think later strategy ma.
so now is the time to think rationally lo.

Actually, i want to get the latest update 2023 version, but knowing boon siew, i am not sure even if the 2023 is coming to our shore, and that the hornet could be coming in to replace this CB650R, that makes it scarce.

it's a (relatively) small cc 4 cylinder bike, the torque is not there
if you like the bike for what it is, then keep it that way

if you want power, a Monster or Shiver will be more powerful as twin cylinders

from my experience, most people will learn, sooner or later, that bigger cc with low cylinder count (2 or 3) makes better bikes

imo, if they love torque 3 cylinder is the sweet spot like mt-09, triumph triple

4 cylinder can relax santai one..
although z900 is pretty 'torquey' for a 4 cylinder

i'm new to biking, only been biking for about 1.5 years with just my 125cc bike. going to 900cc, i just sked it would kill me easily. so i decided to go middle first.

According to reviews its deceptively small, its a naked bike so you see no fairings, body is middle weight size but its handle bar is shorter than middleweight touring bikes. if you're able to compare a cb250r with a cb650r you'll notice the difference on the handle bars. but body is bigger than the 250.

shorter handlebar easier to cilok between cars during traffic jam which is nice

from what i read and asked around on the net, the power is linear, almost similar to a cb300r, i ride a cb250r and i think its quite enough for city riding

why ar lower cylinder count makes better bike? care to share? is it because we get to utilize its full potential of a 2 to 3 cyl bike compared to an inline 4 where the rider has to achieve high rpm for fully utilize an inline 4?
