How tall are you? I had that concern before but once my Metod kitchen was installed, just got used to it and had no problems since.

My wife is around 1.6 m tall by the way.

I think you need to be a bit more clear with your query.

Do you mean better to buy Ikea or other providers?

Thanks and sorry for not been clear.
I am thinking of getting IKEA ready made kitchen design set but is it better to find an ID to design the cabinets?
I guessed ID would cost more than IKEA ones, correct?

if you can afford an ID and the cost of custom made cabinet then of course is better since the cabinet carcass can be cut to size and custom made your counter top

if you can or want to DIY to save cost then getting one from ikea is a good choice, but you need to make sure you know how to deal with the extra spaces where your cabinet cant fit in

What he/she said. It depends on the shape of your kitchen really.

Since the space for my kitchen is a simple rectangular shape, I went with a gallery kitchen so it was pretty easy to use IKEA cabinets to make it look nice and custom. If you have a weird shaped space for your kitchen (like angles which aren't 90 degrees), then a custom kitchen is the way to go.

If you decide to go with IKEA, you can measure your kitchen space and ID it yourself using their website.

Hey bro, I wouldn't recommend mixing Knoxhult and Metod kitchen cabinets from IKEA, man. They're designed to work within their own systems and might not be compatible with each other, dude.

Knoxhult and Metod cabinet systems have different dimensions and construction methods, so if you mix them, you might have issues with cabinet alignment, doors and drawers placement, and overall design aesthetics, bro.

If the Metod base cabinets are too high for you, you can try other options within the Metod system, like using shorter legs or adjusting the height of the base cabinets, bro. You can also check out other kitchen cabinet systems that offer more flexibility in terms of height options, dude.

Remember to plan and measure your kitchen space carefully before buying any cabinets, man. IKEA provides design tools and services to help you plan your kitchen and choose the right cabinets for your space, bro.

Dear All,
I'm looking to install a dish drainer (or dish rack) in kitchen cabinet.
The cabinet installer recommends that I get 900mm type.

May I know:
1) what to look for when choosing a rack?

2) are all racks "plug-and-play" when it comes to replacing a rusty/unsuitable rack in future? As in no need to modify existing cabinet when replacing the rack in future.
*
My dish drainer is part of the IKEA METOD kitchen system. This one, mounted on a wall cabinet, is only appropriate for a taller person. It is not stainless steel; instead, it is powdered-coated lacquered steel. Nonetheless, it is still simple to clean. Water drops from clean dishware will eventually evaporate in the drainer's removable bottom tray. The wall cabinet frame is a particleboard with melamine foil. So, far I see no issue with it since March 2023.

I installed the system by myself.

Remove any stored items from under the sink. Vacuum the area to remove loose mold spores and debris. Mix vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray the moldy area. Scrub the area with a brush or sponge, using baking soda or borax for stubborn mold. Wipe down the area with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly. Check to make sure all mold is removed and repeat the cleaning process if necessary.

Don't forget to wear protective gear for your health and safety concerns.

Ace Hardware sells borax or sodium borate. However, keep in mind that it is extremely dangerous if inhaled or swallowed.

When I check with Alloy Kitchen, it is about 450-550 per feet run. Not cheap but if you find less known or smaller outfit it might be cheaper.
