Wanted to ask is melamine kitchen cabinet ok? I am thinking to use it, someone quoted me 20k for 15 feet up and down plus 2 feet tall unit plus 3 feet fridge unit. Melamine cabinet and quartz stone. For backsplash decor tiles will it be easy to clean? TQ all sifu

for 20k i think you can get aluminium one + quarzstone tabletop instead of melamine, at least in my area. but not full height.

Got the following price for a long/straight shape kitchen cabinet:

1) Dry Kitchen - RM20k
- Top: 12ft (cover up to ceiling)
- Bottom: 17ft
- 4G glass door
- Melamie case
- Quartz top

2) Tall Cabinet (with fridge opening) - RM6k
- Length: 7ft
- Height: 9ft
- Glass + melamine door
- Melamine case

May I know if the above prices are reasonable based on the current mrket rate?

Thanks
*
I'm working at kc factory and i think 20k you can get solid aluminium + quarzstone tabletop for same specs.
For tall cabinet you could also get aluminium but 3g glass design.

may I know is it only alu door + melamine carcasses? as i think fully alu will be quite expensive
*
We don't use woods. Body and carcasses we usually use semi-fix which is combination of aluminium and ACP (for side and back panel). Yeah fully aluminium is expensive sweat.gif We will give out fully aluminium price only on request.
Therefore I suggested for customers to ask the salesperson to confirm if it's fully aluminium / semi-fix / ACP.

It was Unity Kitchen quoted RM50k+ rclxub.gif
*
50k for these? rclxub.gif

You can get solid aluminium (note: semi-fix) for probably RM20k± only.
I want to recommend the company I worked at (self promotion lol) but unfortunately we don't cover Cyberjaya

If anyone else read this you can search for our humble aluminium kc / door / window factory: Long Wide Aluglass. For now we can only cover Melaka, Johor and N9.

Also in terms of hood and hob, and cabinet, which comes first?

Should I get cabinet then only hood and hob or the other way?
*
Hood size is needed as it's part of the kc measurements.
Though usally the size is like 36" but just buy them first for precaution in case it's too big or small.

Is it alu door with melamine carcasses? or full alu?

also for the cabinet light, where is the best place shall i ask my wireman to put? i think either point A or B below? and what's the height to put? 5ft or slightly more than 5ft so that it can be hidden behind the wall cabinet? and normally where do ppl put the switch for this light? is it in between the wall and bottom cabinet like those power points location in the picture?

thanks

Our standard material is semi-fix. It's a mix of solid aluminium and ACP for some parts. But you can request for fully aluminium. The door is solid aluminium.
I'm not really sure about the lights though.

QUOTE(whippy @ Oct 8 2023, 09:20 PM)
Hi all

Just got my key recently and trying to build my dream kitchen. Basically my biggest criteria for the aesthetic is shaker door  biggrin.gif

I have asked a few KC companies for quotation and if I want to have shaker door, I have to use either blockboard, HDF or solid wood
And there's also the question of the carcass too. If I want aluminium, the cost multiplies like crazy.
In general, I was quoted HDF panels with melamine/plywood carcass is about 35k+ and solid wood panels with melamine/plywood carcass would be 40k+++

Then I went to expo and found a few company that does full aluminium cabinets.
Not only they have shaker door but they quote me about 30-35k for a full aluminium cabinets.
Their warranty is also longer.

Is there a difference in the aluminium material used by the mixed material vendors vs the full aluminium ones?
Coz I'm wondering why the price difference is quite significant.

Also any known cons for those who have done fully aluminium cabinets?
*
I dont have a fully aluminium kc, but my friend does. TBH for me the only cons is the noises when you put items on the shelf / inside the cabinet, also limited design.
But after reading other reviews on cabinet materials, i guess these people don't have to worry about termite or moisture if water somehow finds a way inside the laminated material and made your carcass and door 'kembang'.

i did mention to the kitchen industry people dont simply say something its not. now malas to repeat already

another stupid term is they offer nyatoh kitchen
actually the door is nyatoh, the carcass frame actually is some crap mdf/chipboard material.
*
Can't expect kc people to explain all that, esp if you see them on ads.
Thus very important for customers to ask and check details before payment (go to their showroom if they have one).
Also if the price is too low than standard, chances part of the cabinets are from lower quality material.

what?
if thats the case, why aluminium kitchen cabinet suppliers can explain in detail that their carcass cabinet is either proper aluminum or acp or hybrid etc? eager to open the door and show whats inside?

price too low?  u know how much is the raw material cost of a 10k kitchen or not?  biggrin.gif  u come to this industry then maybe your eyes will open big big.
*
I'm kinda part of this industry though

What i want to say some kc people mention about materials of doors used but not the inside, probably why the price is lower than standard. I always see this on ads to attract customers.
If the kc being honest, they will tell u about all that. If not, then need to do some research first. Go to their showroom etc
