QUOTE(Chyan @ Oct 2 2019, 11:02 PM) Maybe not up to that part I guess better than decent but not excellent will do. Any recommendations? Thanks! Sorry for the late reply Would suggest Thinkpad L590 Alternative: E595 - currently on sale, max out RAM and storage (16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) E590 also not bad can get 20% code for L590 and E590 QUOTE(Noob Boy 1996 @ Oct 4 2019, 06:43 PM) - Good quality and high durability keyboard (or maybe just normal keyboard if budget is constrain for it) Good quality means you want better durability+longevity? Or you're referring to exterior build quality? Preferred max weight and min battery life? This post has been edited by ZM Fong: Oct 4 2019, 09:38 PM

Hmm what about gaming laptop? Because for now I'm just a university student so might not really need a business laptop. Just need a laptop (around 5k if possible) that can support my game and do my assignment.

Hello, noob here need you all sifu's help.
Budget: Around 3-5k, can top up a bit if it's value for money
Usage: Multitasking (typical work and school stuff like chrome, word), photoshop, some light gaming (no triple A games), looking into video editing too. Occasionally will use music production software, but not expecting the laptop to have good audio. I'm usually using my earphones anyway.
Requirements 15" only. At least 100% sRGB display for my creative work. At least 8gb ram, prefer 16gb (or anything that I can upgrade myself). Maybe 4 to 5 hours on battery. I don't care about size/weight. Prefer something that won't turn into a teppanyaki grill. I don't mind any type of laptop. Plus point if they got good service. I hear a lot of horror stories about after sales service.
Something I'm not sure about is SSD only or SSD+HDD, will appreciate suggestions. But yeah, that's generally what I'm looking for. Thanks!!

Just to clarify, are you recommending the i7 variants? Had a look of these, quite like the Legion and Raven. Too bad I missed Illegear's promos. I'll go kepo at the shops first, a bit hard to decide without seeing it. Probably purchasing in a month or two, hopefully by then got some nice promo : ' ) Thanks!

Hi ZM Fong, I noticed you recommended Acer Swift 3 a lot, but when it comes to 15 inch, you recommend Acer Spin instead.
Is there any issues with Acer Swift 5? Specifically, Acer Swift 5 SF514-52T-50DZ

Specifically, Acer Swift 5 SF514-52T-50DZ I never mentioned Acer Spin (I guess you're referring to Spin 5) for 15 inch below average CPU performance, small battery, glossy+dim display (with touch though) - would wait for the new version if you really need sub 1kg laptop (which IMO unnecessary)

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 6 2019, 06:54 PM) no worries are you looking for recommendations? yeah, do you have any recommendation for a lightweight laptop under rm3k? (max weight would be probably 1.5kg but lower is better, topup can be accepted if there's a really good option just above the price point), mainly for work that involves heavy international travelling, watches youtube a lot etc.. no gaming This post has been edited by jrrsim: Oct 6 2019, 07:48 PM
