==> You'll Never Walk Alone <==

http://www.unbase.com/n/5853623009

When you walk through a storm hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm there's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
For your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Champions of Europe, once again!

QUOTE(Cloud0890 @ Jun 2 2019, 04:45 PM)
Yeah. Every time we go to Marbella we come back looking uninspired. But I doubt it has less to do with the training camp, but more with the break. We're generally a team that thrives on momentum. Just as we did last season, we tend to start the season slow then slowly click into gear as the season goes on, which is why we tend to look more dangerous towards the end of the season. However these breaks, whether it's warm weather training camp in Marbella or international breaks, we tend to come back slow and out of rhythm. Our matches right after international breaks under Klopp tend to end in draws or defeat. This is proof that it's not specifically a problem with training camps.

We ended the season on a high whereas Spurs limped towards the finish line, this long break between the end of the league campaign and the final has definitely benefited Spurs more than it did us. Had we played them the following week right after the league ended, I'm sure we would've absolutely ripped them apart.

Personally I like the home kit that the team wore yesterday, with match details wording on the chest but not available. Probably going to custom make it.

Exclusive interview with Liverpool owner John W Henry on all Sky Sports News platforms now. Says winning Champions League won’t make up for missing out on the title. Liverpool will go again and invest this summer to make sure they win Premier League next season

We had a 05 CL commemorations jersey last time but I just don't get this one. Keep in mind this is the 19/20 kit, it should have been the one our lads won it in.

Obviously they're out of stock and stopped production for it now but the club should be talking NB into reopening the production lines for that one, with the CL final wordings and badges and everything. Those will definitely sell like hotcakes, it's a win-win for both sides.

If couts leave after last year season generally fans would have not much beef with him, but then he snaked his way out in the middle of the season and important matches so cant say he deserved it all the gloat and jeers by liverpool fans biggrin.gif

Next season need to achieve 100 points if still cannot win...:x

Liverpool sell Coutinho then buy VVD & Alisson then get 2nd place EPL & Champions UCL. This season pocketed £152.5m from EPL & £97.5m from UCL. What a superb season.

But I saw he wasn't happy after Firmino sprayed champagne and wet his phone. Probably not happy with alcohol celebrations. Firmino immediately put down the bottle and went to him.

Lord origi... TBH, you don't always find a player that willing to be in the bench and don't make noise when not playing but impactful when we need it most. He done it many times this season.

Yes indeed he played a main role in few main matches. But talk about solid/consistent performance.. mentioned 5 players are significant can see. Imo.

Anyway, we play as a team, win as a team! We are 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... SIX times europe champ!!

Liverpool will have the chance to establish themselves officially the best club in the world in December, as they take part in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Winning the Champions League entitles teams to partake in the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup usually, though a reshaping of the latter competition is forthcoming.

That led to widespread reports that the tournament would not be held this year, with an expanded edition taking place in future summertimes instead, but this is not the case.

The Club World Cup is going ahead as usual for both the 2019 and 2020 editions, with the FIFA Council having now on Monday endorsed Qatar as the hosts, as confirmed by BBC reporter Dan Roan.

We didn't have enough depth 2 seasons ago. We have since signed Salah, Keita and Shaqiri or even Ox who can all play his position. Plus, Divock has proven he is a capable replacement when needed.

If we are able to sign some players or have youngsters step up (Brewster). Nothing much to worry about depth for international games and challenging for all competition.

Anyone planning to buy the CL merch on the official website? Planning to get the CL home kit with the no 6 badge tongue.gif
Total cost including shipping around RM470. Wonder if anyone have experience ordering from the official site? How long will it take to deliver? Any custom charges? Should I just wait for local stores to bring in the kits to save some trouble?

I am a bit concerned about the rest that our key players will be getting this summer. With the late end to the season, Hendo, Trent, Gomez, VVD, Gini, Shaq still have the Nations League to play. Salah, Mane, Keita will be involved in the ACN. There is also the Copa where Bobby and Alisson will be involved.
Just hope that they get enough rest so that we go for the league next season. A couple of new signings will also be welcomed, and young players like Curtis Jones, Rhian Brewster, Ben Woodburn, Harry Wilson should also be given the chance to impress in pre-season.

Out of contact. Sturridge's wage is far too high for a backup and Moreno is not even good enough as a backup. Thanks for the service and good luck for the future.

no more DHL... its some carrier called GFS International.
then when it reaches Malaysia, they select some last mile courier... my last 2 shipments were random couriers i never heard of before.

so checked... my last one came courtesy of M express...not too bad.
previous one was ABS express... now this wasn't too good.
maybe my next order i will see what other random courier they will send to...
plus i tried to leave multiple 1-star reviews on the lfc store for using a shit carrier... but they wouldn't let me... tho i see other 1-star reviews there... so ya fuck them.

oh ya, fuck Melissa reddy too... why do ppl still listen to her.

#thankyou Sturridge and Moreno, at least they leave with a CL medal!

Sturridge, a wasted talent, only if he was not so injury prone, he would be a world class striker.

Moreno, another wasted LB, only if he knows how to defend properly, he could be a better winger than lb.

His crossing isn't particularly good either. Often not clearing the first defender.
Nowadays even left wingers need to defend. And to say he couldn't defend against a decent winger is an understatement.
Hope he finds a good team in la Liga where it is more technical and less of pace and power.

What can I say…

It’s been one hell of a ride at this beautiful club. We were together for 7 seasons and took a lil break in between.

We had a lot of high and lows together but through it all remained together knowing that one day we’d have to break up. That time is now…..

I wanna say to the fans I love y’all. You made me feel so welcome and embraced me with open arms. The Sturridge dance became famous at Anfield and I’ll never forget the first time I did it in front of the Kop.

To my team mates old and new thank you for the memories the banter was unreal. You all played a part in making me the man I am today. This isn’t a good bye cause Lord knows we’ll stay in touch no matter where I am so speak soon. To the current group of players just letting you know that Sturr crazy sauces will still be available next season so don’t stress yourselves out the lucky sauce will be back ??

To the coaching staff thank you for everything pushing me to my limits in every aspect to become the best I can be that goes for both old and new. Special shoutout to the managers Jurgen and Brendan for guiding my steps and helping me be the best I can be.

The fitness and medical department. Thank you for being on point through the lowest moments but also the highs. Your time and effort for not just me and the lads has been appreciated. I’m grateful I got to thank you all in person outside of social media. Special mention to Chris Rohrbeck for his work all season. Paul Small “Smally” you’ve been there with me from the beginning to the end and at England national team. Nothing but love and respect for you. Lastly Andy Massey you went above and beyond so thank you so much.

Kitchen staff and everyone at Melwood. Thank you for all the hours you put In Behind the scenes to make sure I was taken care of along with the players. Special Shoutout to my other mothers Caroline and Carol. You both are absolute legends! Lee and Graham thanks making life easier from boots to gear, top men!

Ray, Jane, Rachael and Louise. I’ll miss you guys just know I’m forever grateful to you for everything you did for me.

To FSG you guys have done everything in your power to ensure the club has gotten back to the top and it’s been an absolute pleasure to work with you. Special mention for Mike Gordon who was more than just one of the owners but a mentor who has given me advice in and out of football. Tom Werner you’re an absolute boss and I’m still waiting on my cameo in a movie ? , John W Henry thank you so much for being incredible with me through my tenure at Liverpool.
Lastly Mike Edwards who was a big part in recruiting me to the club. Had some great banter with you over the years ?

I’m so happy I was a part of the clubs 6th champions league win because all the fans have deserved it for all the support they’ve given me and club during my tenure.
I wish you all the best in the future and more success for the club.
Like I’ve always said it’s #redordead
Thank you for the memories.

Much love
Daniel

The way Mane plays and Salah on the other wing allows Robbo and Trent to attack and cross. Moreno cant drift inside. He would be blocking Robbo most of the time as a left winger.
And you said it yourself. He doesn't want to defend. Mane is always tracking back when we lose possession.

i do agree on the part where I see Mane tracks back a lot, when we lose possession. Salah on the other hand doesn't tracks back so much. Probably Klopp tactics.

Still it's kind of waste for his attacking talents. Guess Klopp needs defenders who can attack and attackers who can defend.

Wish Moreno all the best.

And wish Daniel all the best too. 3S is wonderful.

Salah mostly lead liverpool counter then 2nd is mane. Once they win back the ball the 1st thing they do is locate salah. He did a lot this season but if he do improve his 1 on 1 ability he could easily bag 30-40 goals this season. Probably win us the EPL also.

This is true. Salah 1-on-1 doesn't seems too good. And his goalscoring percentage isn't good either. Out of the many shots he had, only a few went in. He's just lucky that when Liverpool counter or launch an attack, he always gets the ball first.

I also don't like Salah selfishness. Always when his team got better goalscoring chance, he'll still try and take the shot. When I watch the matches, I always wonder why Salah don't wanna pass. His selfish attitude at times is worrying.

I believe Mane has better all round display than Salah.

Oh ya, and by the way, the Club World Cup is back. They wanted to have it every 4 yrs, with the next one in 2021 after last edition in 2018. Not sure why the sudden u-turn. Probably money for FIFA.

What we need is a stronger bench.

We don't have a big enough squad with equal quality to compete seriously for all the cups.

Look at city, their bench is good enough to challenge for top 6 in the league.

Surprisingly, Liverpool is on 2nd place on total wage per season, behind MU. We pay Lovren and Lallana more than 100k to warm the bench.

We seriously gunning for de Ligt? Wow. Guarantee first team football here?
Lovren guess will make way if able to seal the deal.

ya if only had black... but those CL caps more for collecting anyway... cos collecting jerseys is boring already.
now I'm just waiting for the NB caps that mirror the home kit, and hopefully another for the black kit porn.

We are spoiled with too many defensive options at the time. Clyne just got back from long term injury and clearly needed playing time to gain back match fitness. So I could understand why he wanted to go out on loan and why klopp gave his permission. But who would have thought trent, gomez, matip and lovren got injured at the same time. Milner and hendo forced to cover for RB position and Fabinho at CB. To make things worse, we also dropped a few points in that period. So yeah, it's a wrong decision in the end.

...and he missed his ucl medal. Too bad.

I think Lovren is good but not good enough to become regular stater. With Euro 2020 coming, he need to find new club and play time. As for us, we need to find someone like kolo toure & klavan. Just my opinion.

Not sure the pepe rumour is true or not, as Liverpool Echo denied that LFC is interested in Pepe, yet the journalist at France first brought up this news was the one that first broke up the news that we will do ninja signing on Fabinho on last season.

If coutinho didn't leave then we won't have VVD and Alisson. Without them our journey could probably ended sooner.

Eventhou we make almost half a billion pound from PL and UCL alone in the last two seasons, we still in "sell to buy" position. Hopefully now that we finally won a trophy, we can move to the next stage. Klopp's signing has been on point so far and I'm very excited to see who's coming next. Coutinho coming back? He knows the club, the system, the squad, the league. So why not (but only if we can get him for less than 40m and he's willing to take a pay cut)

no fucking way in hell.
karma says that for him to come back, he will have to pay 100% of the transfer fee from his own pocket...
then only we can even think about considering the transfer.

We also know that we don't need him. In fact, we have done better since he has taken his back pains to Barcelona. He doesn't score often enough to play at the left forward he previously occupied, and he's not industrious enough to play in the mid 3. There's like no reason what so ever to bring him back?

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, AC are 'probing' Lovren to see how much he would cost in terms of transfer fees and wages.

Lovren played 18 times in all competitions for Liverpool last season, 13 in the Premier League.

He was an unused substitute in the Reds' Champions League final victory over Tottenham, but has since played twice for his country this week.

AC Milan are set to lose Cristian Zapata on a free transfer, and there are injury worries surrounding Mattia Caldara, meaning centre back is a problem position for the Serie A side.
And they are trying to buy Lovren who is injury prone. brows.gif

It's unfair to compare Michael Owen to Coutinho. Owen forced his way for the transfer. Coutinho agreed to stay on for another half season, and got us 142mil. Owen got us what? 7mil and a fcking Nunez.

If you're comparing both teams, we have a much stronger team today, if u look at the EPL quality. And how we bought Alisson and Vvd? Thanks to Coutinho.

Me for one, will not boo Coutinho. He's the reason we got them both here with us, thus the CL. I'll forever be grateful to Coutinho.

Wait, why did you mention the transfer fee like it's supposed to be a justification of why they are not the same? Transfer fee should be an altogether different topic.
Owen forced his transfer, did Coutinho not? All the back pains that magically healed once he has the sunshine of Catalonia?

I will thank Coutinho for the team we have today, as a backhanded compliment. If you thank Coutinho sincerely, you should thank Qatar, PSG and Neymar too, since they are what ultimately fund the transfer of Alisson & Virgil?

transfer fees different between scum and Coutinho is because of the contract length. Coutinho signed a 5 years contract in Jan 17 while scum only have 1 years left in his contract. LFC wouldnt want to repeat the same mistake with McManaman case that why LFC were force to sell him at that price.

I will thank Coutinho for the team we have today, as a backhanded compliment. If you thank Coutinho sincerely, you should thank Qatar, PSG and Neymar too, since they are what ultimately fund the transfer of Alisson & Virgil?
*
Thanking PSG is too far anyway. If he stayed on, I wouldn't be sure if we can win the CL or not. On his day, his goals are amazing. But his inconsistencies caused us games as well. As such, even if he left, it wouldn't hurt us as much. And when he gave us a chance to compete in the market for a GK and a CB, I won't complain at all. Also, he signed a new contract the year before, knowing well that he will leave soon, since the Suarez saga. But he signed it, gave us a chance for 142mil. Why still condemn? To me, no players are bigger than the club. And if he can give us 142mil, he should be given the red carpet. I'd be fair to him. He left chasing his dream, and left us with a war chest. Fair and square. Win-win. And did we gain from it? Yes another 120mil for winning CL. And 100mil plus for getting 2nd place in EPL. 220mil war chest next season.

Will u rather have Coutinho in attack, and Lovren + Karius in defensive position, OR having Alisson + VVD in defensive, and Mane in attacking? I'd choose the Alisson + VVD + Mane instead. Yes he left us in January, got us scrambling, but in Klopp we trust.

As people like Owen, we needed him. He was our main striker. But he chose to leave, knowing Liverpool will get nothing out of his transfer fee. He's effectively a scum, an asshole taking opportunity of his short contract, something De Gea is doing to ManU this season. If Owen would have signed a new deal and left at 30mil the next season, I would have given him the red carpet too. 30mil was big that time and could have given us time for a huge striker.

QUOTE(melt @ Jun 13 2019, 12:07 PM)
transfer fees different between scum and Coutinho is because of the contract length. Coutinho signed a 5 years contract in Jan 17 while scum only have 1 years left in his contract. LFC wouldnt want to repeat the same mistake with McManaman case that why LFC were force to sell him at that price.
*
Coutinho wanted to leave, and he still signed the new deal. Especially when Suarez is already leaving, he knew his turn will come. But he still signed it. At least it gave us a chance to get the 142mil.

*
coutinho also forced his way out, remember the sudden injury and refusing to play? i wont boo any of them, owen, torres or coutinho but they already lost my respect as ex-liverpool players.

Had he stayed on, we probably would have won the CL last season, remember Virgil joined before he left. If we had him being subbed on instead of Lallana, it might make all the difference. Alisson, Fabinho et all would still happen as he would still leave for Barca. By your logic, I should totally blame him that we are only celebrating our 6th now, and not 7th?

You are making it sound like it's all his plan that he would leave for 142mil and would have us spend wisely on our purchases and then winning the CL this past season. The only thing that he cared about was leaving for Barca and none of Liverpool's interest. Oh yeah, he did sign an extension, I'm sure it doesn't come with a huge increment and he was so coveted by Barca at the time /s. Everything that happens after he left has nothing to do with him, the club could have gone "Spending Suarez's money 2.0" and then only then you would blame him? Pls learn to apportion blame and credits accordingly.

Again, going by your logic, after Owen left, our new No.10 Luis Garcia scored the ghost goal that helped us to win our 5th. Why you didn't say that had he stay, we won't have won it and therefore thank him for 'helping' us winning the 5th?? Come on la, just thank PSG already if you are any consistent in your thinking.. And I never had any interest to defend Owen, he is downright another level of scum for joining Utd.

He forced his way out after signing a new deal. Haha for a fan like me, I'll thank him greatly. In fact, it's him that got us 142mil, now because of the 142mil we invested, we got another 220mil. He won't get my respect for his acting, but no hatred as well. Barca already came the season before, but still signed a new deal with us. For this, I respect him.

Torres is not someone I'll boo as well. He did his part. He came back different after his injury. We were lucky to get 50mil from Chelsea for a half Torres. But we invested in Carroll instead, which is poor. Torres will forever get my respect.

U think Liverpool will spend 75mil for a defender if we didn't sell Coutinho? Liverpool, for our owners, will always be a sell before buy club. Don't lie to yourself.

It's not his plan to be sold how much. But since the club has confirmed they can get more than a 100mil, we decided to proceed with VVD. Remember the season before, we failed to get VVD because Liverpool made an illegal approach. Its still our cheap ways of influencing a player's decision. As for his contract increase, who doesn't want to have salary increase in a new contract. Lol. Dunno about other people, the 142mil Liverpool managed to collect is a good business.

Haha for Garcia, we had to buy him. But between him and Garcia, Owen is much better. We could have won with him too. Winning Gerrard and team is sheer luck and determination. U see how we won Tottenham? We put in a poor performance and still can win. Speaks volume of how much the team has evolved. When we won with Gerrard, Carragher was playing with an injury, Gerrard finished at right back and we ended the game with 10 man due to Carragher injury.

In here, we see 2 types of team. One is pure determination and perseverance. Another is team quality.

Haha I'm not gonna argue with ya. Coutinho is past. We got our money, he got his dream move. We moved on, we win. Like Salah, he is not irreplaceable. Neither is Mane. As long as the right price comes which Klopp feels its correct, they can leave.

When Klopp can sell Ibe for more than 20mil, I'll trust Klopp. The only person irreplaceable now is Klopp and his management team.

Anyway, talks about players fake this and that to force a move to their desire club, most if not all of them is the work of their agents. I bet its their agent taught them how to force a move out.

Well I am not protecting the players, because its still up to them whether to do it or not.

You simply do not understand that nobody gets credits for whatever that happens to the entity that they left. Not even the 142mil, he didn't ask ask Barca to pay that amount, it's down to the negotiation skills of the exec. He didn't conduct himself the best way he could when he was seeking the move, hence the bitterness. If you wanna thank him for the 142mil, thank Barca since they paid for it. Then thank PSG since they paid Barca, then thank Qatar since they are the owner.

I do not intend to argue with you, just that you are giving credits where none is due. We have this achievements AFTER coutinho left, NOT BECAUSE coutinho left to help us. Otherwise, it doesn't matter to you if players conduct themselves poorly when forcing a move as long as we achieve something after they leave. It's not OK.

Ehm, the selling price of coutinho is done by Michael Edwards after hard negotiation with Barca, and he even forced barca to agree the terms of adding 100M premium for any lfc player transfer to barca for next 2 season of transfer.

In other news, after BPL schedule released, lfc had cancelled final pre-season friendly matches with Schalke 04.

The way i look at Couthino saga is he initiate the exodus and we responded by using his money to sign Alisson, Fab and Alisson. So, i still think Couth is a snake from starting until now. No one is bigger than club.

Apparently we could now sign Fekir for as little as 15mil Euro, quite why we haven't just given them twice that amount to land the man is beyond me, if Klopp's interest in him still remains..

inb4 we have a defensive crisis next season.
for 25m, i wonder what decent replacement we can have...and i doubt klopp willing to splash out more money on a defender after this...
also considering some team out there is willing to splash 80m on harry maguire doh.gif

I don't know, maybe a Kolo Toure type of veteran? Having 4 first team CB with only one standing out from the rest is not really ideal.. And we have also that Ki-Jan Hoever something kid? Nathan Phillips too?

kolo did score an own goal tongue.gif
and 4 first team CB? less lovren is just 3...vvd / matip / gomez... and the latter actually does double duty to backup RB too...
less we forget, we had fabinho playing as CB before due to our injury crisis when both matip and gomez went gg... u didn't see klopp calling up any kids to cover right...

3 is just about right lar, this is a partnership that requires chemistry more than any other.. And Gomez shouldn't be called upon to backup RB anymore. But if he still is gonna be, then Lovren should be kept.
And Fabinho having to cover at CB is really the unforeseen situation that we shouldn't have to plan for, no club simply have that luxury otherwise every club would have needed 11 world class subs who really are not that much worse off the starters..

3 is also never ideal.
there is the left CB vs right CB situation...some may think that just cos it's called Center that both sides are the same... but we have seen it time and time again where one would look out of place if forced to switch sides.
and as much as it's not ideal, gomez is also still the best RB backup...as apart from milner who is even less ideal...iirc no one else has first team experience there.

if the bench is an issue, remember at any one point of the season we will have the likes of ox, lallana, fabinho, shaqiri, keita... do u think we should sell them all off too?

If the third is just really cover, then keep/get the who is comfortable on both sides, or someone just won't look like a complete clown when played on the 'wrong' side.

About the RB situation, we need to deal with it separately. I have said it though, if Gomez is seen as cover whereby there is no addition of a backup, then I support keeping Lovren, because Gomez would have gotten some game time.

The midfield situation is simply different from the CB partnership situation lar wei. We might need different type of combo for a particular match, whereas for CB it's set and go for the whole season. The workload for midfield in our tactics are also higher. Ideally, I think 5 fighting for 3 starting spots is sufficient, Lallana can go IMO. But some of our midfielders also can cover for the attacking positions: Ox, Lallana (not ideal).

We might sign new understudy GK if Mignolet want to leave.

For CB, I'm just saying.. having an injury prones player as a cover is not really a good idea. Even with 4/5 CBs, we always hit by injury crisis in defensive area almost every season. Imo, if we receive serious offer for Lovren, we should really consider it. Plus the best defender in the world shouldn't being kept in reserve. But it's hardly to see another big signing after VVD especially with Gomez and Matip performance this season.

As for RB, we still have Clyne. For LB maybe we're already in market for Moreno replacement. Just waiting to be unveiled. Perhaps a young talent.

In midfield area, we already jammed so I'm sure there'll be no new signing. Lallana could and should be sold thou.

Offensively, it looks like klopp is turning Origi into a winger as a cover for Mané on the left*. Salah and Shaq will fight for a place on the right*. Wilson also might play bigger role next season. Our big money signing next season could be for another striker. Sturridge left, Firmino shown he need a good rest from time to time and we really doesn't have a natural all-out striker in the squad.

So basically I just hope we could keep our core 11 intact especially our front 3. And we seriously need to increase the squad depth in some departments if want to compete with City for the league title. I could see them spend another 200-300m next season.

A move to AC Milan could be an attractive option for all parties. If the Serie A club meet the asking price of £25 million (US$31.7 million) Liverpool will have no compunction in selling. Lovren will be 30 next month and in his four years at Anfield has never put together a run of 10 successive starts for the team.

Now he is fourth choice central defender. Virgil van Dijk exudes the authority Lovren lacks. Joel Matip is more consistent and has a better capacity to put errors behind him during the game. Joe Gomez has pace and the ability to distribute the ball.

Wah, means can wear both way? I've never thought of buying training jersey, no enough glamour.

But I don't like adidas kit lar generally, the design is quite uniformed across all the clubs sponsored. Like changing logo and colour ways only. doh.gif But the one you mentioned is one of the hit rather than miss lar.

no, they made 2 diff kits...i don't think lfc has ever had any reversible jerseys.
and glamour? plastic fan? tongue.gif
they have been some pretty nice training jerseys over the yrs... but more misses than hits... especially those that like to have a huge sponsor logo across the back.
some of the nicer ones still come from adidas especially again the CL range... a few nice red / black ones...
and since training kits usually don't have the sponsor logo across the chest... they can be worn even more casually like a normal tshirt etc...

The transfer fee becoming more insane season after season, any good player fees will be between 50m - 100m. Superstar 100m++.

But no regret for AB1 & VVD.

Fernando Torres has announced his retirement from football after an 18-year career.
Unstoppable during Liverpool/Spain days, unlucky to not win any trophy with Liverpool.

He didn't score during Stevie G slip, still a legend to me.

Can't imagine Suarez + Nando combination, past is past, we got 6th baby.

I'm sure the Anfield crowd has the ability to cure problems arise from multiple injuries. Maybe the cure to AIDS too, we just haven't known.
*
Can cure AIDS or not, I am not sure but nowadays HIV can be cured with proper control, not in Anfield la..........

But Anfield does produced superstar & these superstars must not betray the Club that helped them to become somebody.

Look at StevieG & Carragher , they wont play for rival clubs, not even out of England, but Owen & Torres played for our fierce rivals, serves them right of having to retire earlier. Pls remember they have to take care of the Fans liking too, we supported them through fame & injuries ..........

Why crucify our ex players?
Torres gave us his best years, we didn't win anything was not down to his fault. 50mil pounds at that time was mega bucks and could only come from Roman, for a player clearly over his peak. Torres won the league, CL and EL because of a better team (Chelsea), not that he contributed much.
In fact, I would say that we did not play Torres the right way, and used him way much more than how his body could take. That's why he lasted only a couple of good seasons with us.
Players like Gerrard, Carra, Scholes, Totti etc are pretty much non existent these days. With the money going around and agents needing transfers to get their commissions, they are the exception rather than the norm. It is unfair to ask players to sacrifice their earning power because of loyalty. They only have a playing career of 10-15 years on average.

New owner, new manager and the newly appointed DOF told that the club is going to a rebuilding process by bringing in more youngsters. Then Chelsea came with silverwares promise and significant pay rise. It's easy choice for him. Heck, few months under Uncle Woy is enough to make him make up his mind. Too bad we don't have the privilege to watch him and Suarez combo. That'll be eyegasm.

Exactly. spending time under Woy plus Hicks and Gillett would make almost anyone want to leave, hard to blame him and Mascherano. He gave us the best years of his career and even 50 million as a parting gift, our own fault for wasting it.

Yes. If we had moved from David Moores to Fenway, kept Benitez for a couple more seasons before BR, who knows what we could've achieved.
Kesimpulannya, G&H&Roy was a very bad era and thank God it is over..

This.

Not to mention the only reason why Owl didn't get the sack right away was because FSG was looking at Fulham back then as the model (which is something like today's Tottenham) for "progression".

FSG learnt their lesson very well, and they now know they have to buy the right people for the right job, not looking everything as numbers and data and say "the sabermetric / moneyball will work itself out".

Some people get their fuel from negativity.

Torres moving was indeed a sad day and what more to a rival at that time. But if you were in a sinking ship, you'd jumped too. He was playing under Roy and a team of mediocre players bar Gerrard, Carra and Reina. Everyone from the amazing 08/09 team left. He was also declining in terms of performance which was apparent in his 4 years with Chelsea scoring only one-third of what he did for Liverpool.

By the way, can't consider 1 club for Gerrard since he played for LA Galaxy.

Does anyone here have Standard Chartered Liverpool Debit Card? I am thinking of applying one.

From ringgitplus.com it is not available anymore (blue color Mastercard)

From official website there is Liverpool Debit card (red color Mastercard)
https://www.sc.com/my/promotions/save-and-w...rip-to-anfield/

But when I clicked for more info it only brings me to the deposit page. Would like to know if the red one is still available?

Initially wanted De Ligt. But we ninja-ed this kid who also from Holland. Less expensive and lower salary that won't cause locker room havoc. VVD will bring hin under his wind with Gomes. If it turned up another good find then our CB will be solid for the next 10 years to come. Hope for the best.

There are already 6 players fighting for 3 spots in the mid.. I'm not following his progress but I doubt he is ready to challenge the midfield of the European champions at this point. Keita, Ox, Hendo are certainly in front of him in the queue of the more advanced roles.. Still have to fight Milner, Lallana and Gini just to be a reserve.
Another loan with assurance of future with us seems to be the right move, even without being assessed first, I believe Klopp has seen whatever he needs to see.

Jurgen Klopp already mentioned we won't be signing anyone major this season. Not sure why some still waiting for big signings. Unless we offload Origi and Lovren, we have enough depth coming into the new season.

I am excited to see some youngsters like Hoever and hopefully Wilson and Woodburn play a part.

An easy save by his standard, weird decision by Messi to go the corner already covered by him, but perhaps from that angle the other corner doesn't make sense too.

Our number 1 has kept a clean sheet in each of his last 9 games.. If he keeps one more, perhaps he might slip into the discussion of Ballon d'Or.

Can Alisson win ballon D'Or now that he got 2 cup to his name?? but I know chance are slim for GK & DEF........
*
Not out of the realm of possibility. The winner would need to have a good club season and preferably a comprehensive international tournament - sorry Cristiano. I think VvD is the likeliest but only because GK is still underrated, but a good showing from Mane in the AFCON could change this.

AB1 will be the first keeper to win this year Ballon D'Or, fingers crossed, else VVD will take the title.

Messi & C7 are yesteryear hero.

too bad VVD couldn't bring holland to Nation League champion.....so Alisson definitely have better chance than VVD at this moment.......Don't forget also it was his decisive save against Napoli that send us through to the champions league knockout round......

So I do think he have a great chance.......but my head always told it will be either ronaldo or messi again most probably.......

just like how ribery that won all that he could but still couldn't win the ballon d or that year......

I think the win of Modric last time has shown that team achievement matters more than ever. And the two GOAT's really didn't have any outstanding stats by their standards - especially CR7, so I think one of our players would win it.

Only one GK has won the award (ever) and it's back in 1963. So Alisson is close to 0%.

Only 3 defenders won it and the last one is Cannavaro in 2006 after winning the world cup. VVD chance is also very slim.

Only 2 winner from PL in the last 50 years... Ronaldo (M.U) and Owen (Liverpool). Both are attacking player.

In the end, balon d'Or is just a popularity contest. The odds for VVD or Alisson to win it is like having to make a comeback with 3 goals down against Barcelona.

what happen to TAA & Joe Gomez might excite every youth talent in the world to join LFC. Instead of buying superstar, polish youngster to replace our current superstar.
Player value in this current transfer market are so crazy. Hope this is the right bet and we dont become arsenal.

Watched Ki-Jana Hoever play against Trenmere last night. Damn he is really good. Really composed and smart with the ball. Rhian Brewster too. I guess Klopp going to ease in those young players into the 1st team games more often now since Klopp said not to expect much of big signing this window.

thinking of his contribution and the extra uumph he may add to the team, YES would like to welcome him back
but thinking the way how he engineered the move out felt like, NO thats how you should feel for being disrespectful

loan him back for fraction of the money, i will take it.. option to buy at 88mil when he is at 29y.o. maybe not.

But he is still 27...

Anyway, if Klopp wants him back, doesn't matter what do we think of him, as long as he wears the shirt we should want him to do well, regardless of what he had done to us previously. Personally would rather not have him back cause he won't come cheap, but if he comes back then he would really loyal since he has burnt his hand once.

Only if we can get him thru 2 years loan deal with barca paying over 50% of his salary. That'll be a good deal. Option to buy is meaningless cos we most likely opted not to buy anyway.

yup, he is still 27 now. Rumours are saying LIV have the option to buy him after the 2years loan are up at 88mil. By that time, he will already be at 29y.o.

Oh! But by today's standard, 88million for a 29 y.o. isn't audacious, we are not a selling club (anymore) so we don't need to worry about re-sale value. Plus, that 88million has also covered the 2 years loan, not really a bad deal. As fans I think we need not worry about how the club spend their money for the club.

But if he comes back then he's technically not unwanted. No matter what a snake he is, the minute he dons the shirt I would be cheering him on. Personally I would have preferred him to not come back at all, Fekir is slightly younger and much cheaper and more versatile it seems.

but dont forget, couts salary is also in excess of 200k / week...which is another reason why barca cant wait to get rid of him...so i dont see barca also subsidizing his salary.

and how many have made fun of owen etc even when he returned wearing a red shirt during testimonials etc?
imo, the way couts left was more of stab in the back than what owen did.

but what has his salary got to do with us? If the club decides that they could and should give him that then it's really not our problem... It's not like we are gonna pay him whatever just for him to fck around right? We are paying him to play for us.

2 different scenarios here: Owen is a local, he understands the rivalry with Utd, yet he joined them and helped them to win a title (personally I'm just bitter about the very last part). Coutinho is not a local, but rumours say he would not join any rivals out of respect for LFC. And now, understand the context of what we are talking about - Coutinho re-joining us, what's the relevance with Owen's case here? For the sake of discussion, if Owen were to rejoin us even after his Utd days, I would still want him to do well for us, because well, he's playing for us.

Again 2 different things here: things that the club do that affect you and not affecting you. Salary and what not, is ultimately decision of the club alone. You can have opinion, talk about it like we are doing here, but end of the day, what can you do? More importantly, what would you do? Going on a strike because the club pay Coutinho 200k per week?

Now, for things that affect us, yes by all means going on strike. But for non-match-attending fans like us, there are rarely issues like this.

Beyond that, my point is, whatever you think of a player/manager, the minute he is working for us, we SHOULD all want him to succeed, otherwise are you really supporting the club?

no one can decide what the club wants to do. we can only talk about what we feel. end of the day, we just want our beloved club to win more trophies and get better.
for the back-room part, I am not sure if this situation will create more positives than negatives to the team or otherwise.
maybe one positive lesson that PC can share to his buddy - don't be too excited if "big" club come and knocking for your service. the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Very true, he could be the living example that Liverpool could be your final destination too, especially with the club being where it is now.
There are also concern that he might show that the club is a stepping stone and a safety net at the same time though, where if you couldn't make the grade at an arguably slightly higher level, you could fall back into the arms of LFC. I think players simply won't want to waste 2 years on the bench while his ex-teammates are having fun and winning things.

For the sake of discussion, if Owen were to rejoin us even after his Utd days, I would still want him to do well for us, because well, he's playing for us.
*
Owen was a free agent before he joined Utd, it wasn't like he has any other choice. In this case, he needed salary at the point of agreeing to pay as you play deal. If you were a player or in your own real life being out of job. You would have made the same decision.

Plus he was already 33 and lastly, we will never know what goes on behind the closed doors and why these decision was made.

no one can decide what the club wants to do. we can only talk about what we feel. end of the day, we just want our beloved club to win more trophies and get better.
for the back-room part, I am not sure if this situation will create more positives than negatives to the team or otherwise.
maybe one positive lesson that PC can share to his buddy - don't be too excited if "big" club come and knocking for your service. the grass is not always greener on the other side.
*
Him leaving turned out perfect for us. I don't have any bad feelings for him or Torres or Owen. If PC didn't leave, we wouldn't have the transfer fee to recruit the players we have today. If we spent more wisely on Torres' fee, we could have had a even higher chance of winning something. If Owen didn't leave, we wouldn't have won the 5th UCL.

If Phillipe ever comes back, he would need to take a pay cut and be part of the same salary curve as the current players so it doesn't affect the other player. Actually, there are no clubs willing or can afford to pay his salary bar Real Madrid, or Man Utd who is quite dumb in salary management.

Well you are right on all front. But I doubt he didn't field offers from other clubs, and someone who really value his Liverpool roots would never sign for Utd, especially he has been a somewhat legend at Anfield due to his early exploits. His post-retirement comments also do not endear himself to me.

Maybe he has other offers but he would definitely pick the 1 with the best opportunity. The way he left us for Real Madrid was worse than joining Utd.

He says the dumbest things as a pundit so you should disregard of anything that comes out of his mouth haha.

Then he has to live with being a hero turned villain, hatred that comes via love is the worst of all. All in all, the way he conducted himself SINCE wanting to leave justifies my view of him: one of the worst associated with us for a meaningful period, if not outright the worst.

If Klopp is ok with this move & really bring him in, on loan, I have no complains. I'd trust Klopp decision and try to forget all the bad things that Couts did.

Hope he delivers.

Doesn't matter. Better to channel your energy on positive stuff and hope the youngsters perform and step up to back up the 1st team!

well, wanting him to fail would mean i hate his guts...so no matter how good he is...i would want him to fail...
knowing he would fail would be he is crap and nothing can save him tongue.gif
so yes, the latter...
as for couts...its the same with any other case of rival players joining us...or vice versa...not many would get along.
would we support them...perhaps over time...but initially no one would approve etc.

parallels can actually be drawn with newcastle now as the fans revolt against the appointment of steve bruce... laugh.gif

this roots thing...just look back at history...
owen isnt the first from lfc to join man utd (directly or indirectly)...and i seriously doubt he will be the last...maybe in 20yrs time some other player would do the same.
so basically, owen being the scapegoat of this era is most memorable.

dont forget, we also had a lfc captain...who then went on to join man utd...not as a player but as a manager...yes, matt busby...
diff era obviously, but i would take a guess many lfc fans felt disgusted then too...just that we all obviously werent born yet then...but then again the lfc-man utd rivalry i dont think existed then...its more of an 80s onwards thing...

and of cos, we then had a certain rival in paul ince...who became our captain... bangwall.gif

You are right about Owen being the scapegoat, especially in my case, he was the first player to leave almost as soon as I started to support Liverpool (hey, Internet wasn't for the poor and Astro is still for the rich). And he didn't leave in the best way possible.

but remember, couts also didnt leave in the best of ways...
with his 'back injuries' and him paying the balance of the transfer fee out of his own pocket just to finalise the move.

Not this sh*t again.. Have told you what happens after Owen left us actually affect my opinion of him more than the way he left. In terms of the latter, yes, both are equally sh*t, but Coutinho actually stayed (half-heartedly) for half a season after his initial request to leave, if you wanna compare that.

My exact thoughts on this summer's signings. Doesn't seem like there are much options.

1. Our players are too good/world class and it is hard to get another back up that would want to sit on the bench unless they are getting paid like City/PSG/Barca. Liverpool ain't paying for that.

2. Indeed Coutinho would be the best choice despite how he left us. Fekir is the next on my list but he is unproven in BPL.

Seems like Mignolet's move is coming soon and it is hard to replace him. He can walk into any 7-12 ranking team in BPL and start every game, but none of the 7-12 goalies will either want to be Allison's backup or good enough to be his backup.

Good problem to have such an awesome team. Haven't felt this before.

Did I say I want Coutinho back? I said if he comes back, I would and we should embrace him, because his success then is our success. Who said Owen isn't welcomed?? In fact you are the one who kept bringing Owen into a conversation that doesn't warrant it? If Owen actually came back even after his stint with Utd, I would want him to succeed, my love for the club would always be greater than the hate I have for someone before their time with the club. Clear?

Big no way for Couthinho back. He is the one who wanted to leave us. He don't have the loyal and love to us, he treat us as stepping stone. He never love us as a lover that for sure.
We won CL because the players commitments and die for us. That's the diff why we won.
We are not a passenger bus, we want players who can loves us and contribute 110%.

to be honest, i dont mind cou back but he would need to accept a huge paycut. he wanted to become a mercenary, we treat him as one, simple as that.

on owen case, he left us with last year in contract, he join newcastle to get higher paycheck and putting a nail to coffin, he join mu. forgive but never forget

Haha. Millie is here to stay at least for next season.
Did you watch LFCTV YouTube, he nailed the younger guys on first day training. Having him around is invaluable, especially if we do not get a decent backup for Robbo. Besides, I think he's the only one in the team with a EPL medal.
But anyway, already a legend to me. One of the best "Bosman transfer" we got.

lose again, but it's friendly.
sked of our backup squad, not expecting the 1st 11 to be fit all the time.
maybe same tactic like last season, early exit on all cups, focus on EPL & UCL only.

Fck, that's more of a blatant kick than a poor attempt of tackle... If he feels that much urge to hurt someone in a friendly, maybe pro is not for him...

That raises a lot of questions. Why only Betis going after him? 20m? Why does Lyon look so desperate to offload him. And why did he accept a move to Betis? Stepping stone? Did we dodged a bullet? This Fekir deal makes you berfikir...

20% sell-on clause. He was also in the last year of his contract. Not sure why no one willing to take a chance on him though, probably us pulling out at last min affects that.

fekir has a recurring knee injury that made it a risk to be signed la... its why klopp didn't go for him earlier... and probably also why his price has drastically dropped.

Klopp want to prove that we have a best team when there is no injuries to our players.

I dun think he will want to sign any new players to prove that he is right and he will not be selling any key players, not even Origi or Cline or Lovren. Mignolet will also be retained.

Last 3 years just for Lyon he started 128 games and 6 sub appearances

If including international probably add another 12 games start and 11 games as a substitute.

As I said, having him would make each team better – us included – but I really hope that he finds his luck at Barcelona. ‘Or maybe he found it there. Each season klopp has brought in players that turn out to be a key player:

1st season - gini, mane, matip
2nd season - salah, vvd, robertson
3rd season - alisson, fabinho

There's also a few squad players with a lot of promises like Ox, Shaqiri, keita and some young players like Sepp and Grujic.

So no wonder fan are expecting another big signing this season. So far it's been a very quiet transfer window. Maybe the fact that Spurs reaching UCL final and maintain top 4 without signing anyone for a couple seasons has something to do with it. The market is quite crazy rite now and financially we can't afford to sign a flop.

To be fair, 20m for a proven playmaker is a risk worth taking. We sold Solanke for 70% of the fee quoted for Fekir. Surely we can throw in a couple of million more.... (i know he will be on high wages and all but then... dry.gif )

First 11 not reported into camp yet !!!

We need to learn how to lose first [ the feeling of losing ] cause once season proper starts, we wont knoe the taste of losing cause we will be winning most of the matches & drawing some tough matches. Klopp's plan.

Last year, Liv won most of the pre-season though.

Sometimes, pre-season may more and less see how well the team is prepared and how well the second string players are, and depth of them.

This year, there will be a lot of matches, they may be needed to fill up the gap in between.

Come on guys, we played with a lousy keeper & a toothless attacking line. Just like the 2015/2016 season.

Once Alisson & gang is back , we will win most matches.

You guys can clearly see how lousy were our midfield & attack . Dun get fooled by Klopp's plan because everyone were expecting us to Win due to last season super run. We only played badly on the UCL Final but it was lucky to come home with then Cup actually.

its literally most of the UCL team...this just shows that attack is the best defense... and our actual defense actually isn't that great.

and only played badly in UCL final? in what universe?
we didn't win a single away game in group stages...

Klopp's pre-match press conference vs Manchester City:

Doesn’t know if Salah, Firmino and Alisson will be ready for Man City
QUOTE
“Everyone is fine, the [returning] boys are going in time [to the training camp]. From this afternoon on, Shaq, Naby, Bobby, Mo and Alisson are in training which is great.

“We have a game on Wednesday. They will play 10, 20 or 30, 30 minutes probably. But I’ll need to see them first!

“We prepare for Sunday, the first game, so we try to be as prepared as possible.”

On pre-season games
QUOTE
“Good results in pre-season help to gain confidence but that’s not the most important thing. In the season its only games, not too much time to train.

“We can’t expect to play our best game of the season on Sunday but it’s not about that. It’s to win a football game and find a way and hopefully we find one.

“We have to be a lot [better] than yesterday [against Napoli]. Man City were good last year and this year, it’s always the most difficult game to play.”

QUOTE
During the season we prepare pretty much for just games, not much time for training. It doesn't feel cool (now) to be getting the results against strong opponents. 80% of things yesterday were not good that we were doing brilliantly in training sessions.

High hopes for Brewster
QUOTE
He’s close. For him it was the first first team pre-season after a long injury. It’s very intense.

Pre-season knocked him down and you feel it in the legs. No pressure on him, there’s no need for that.

Just play as well as you can. Everything will be fine. When it will happen, I don’t know.

He had tired moments as well, thankfully he didn’t get an injury.

It has been a real positive pre-season for Brewster. The future is bright.

Latest on Mane’s return

He’s taking the Community Shield seriously
QUOTE
Nobody told me it was a pre-season friendly! (Community Shield) Is that what people say in this country?

QUOTE
Why play this competition if it means nothing? Why don’t cancel it then? I won it five times in Germany but no-one mentions that. We played it every year.

Previously we always look on fire during pre season and nothing transpired in terms of the league title. This season has really been bad timing seeing ACN and Copa, Nations League all at the same time.
Our front 3 isn't even back in training, as well as our GK. Just take the results with a pinch of salt, the real action starts against Norwich. Read that Hendo and Millie gave the guys an earful after the Napoli game, good thing to learn during pre-season than when the real thing starts.

And given that our front three arrived later than others, expect them needing few games before reaching the fitness level required.

Years back, i remembwr our rival used to sign our target just to deny us. Unfortunately, we don't have that luxury. But I don't condone such approach. Although I can understand it as a "strategic" move, where u can do whatever is legit and not breaching the rule.

I fear Klopp refusal to spend on quality player or even backups will hunt us back coming mid season when the schedule is jammed pack. Highly doubtful FSG or LFC don't have money. More like Klopp is one of those people who see current transfer market as bullshit and over inflated, thus he refused to dive in too.

the TC is still very much well and alive...
fun fact - man city most expensive player is like 60m...but of cos they have quite a few 50-60m players...thats beside the point anyway.
we meanwhile of cos recently bought 2 players who both cost more than man city's record signing...so its not about over inflated etc...best guess is still klopp thinks the team is enough...provided guys like ox and shaqiri can stay off the nurse's table long enough.
