But I doubt he didn't field offers from other clubs, and someone who really value his Liverpool roots would never sign for Utd, especially he has been a somewhat legend at Anfield due to his early exploits. His post-retirement comments also do not endear himself to me.

Then he has to live with being a hero turned villain, hatred that comes via love is the worst of all. All in all, the way he conducted himself SINCE wanting to leave justifies my view of him: one of the worst associated with us for a meaningful period, if not outright the worst.
